Made the mistake of looking up the price of this bad boy. Now, I need mental therapy and crutches from how hard I hit the floor. Those planes older than my parents don’t seem like such a bad deal now.
Great aircraft and the future of GA. Gotta go full FADEC, autoprop and stability and anti stall capability. Also need autoland. This will make GA safer more than anything else.
At 1.3 million dollars, it should have Mooney acclaim cruise speeds and it should be pressurized. As for the 5th seat IMO is a BS sales pitch, since it most definitely will just limit fuel capacity and finally it's max range sucks by comparison to not only the Mooney but also the well known, best selling single engine HP aircraft, the Cirrus SR22T. I wouldn't expect to see many sitting on the tarmac, then again that is the plan. Limited production ( like all G.A. aircraft) just to jack up the price. It a company can make X amount of dollars and make 100 units per year but generate the same capital and only produce 50 units, then why not go with the no brainer of work less.
wow. beautiful plane, but for well over a million dollars, I would expect a much faster plane and longer range. Pretty disappointing specs for the price.
Same GPH at 170 knots as a Bonanza, with one less seat and less range, what's the point? The Bonanza is basically 70 year old technology, people, c'mon! Also, people who reply to me seem to be obsessed with energy efficiency, so... 1,775 MJ/hr - Bonanza 1,970 MJ/hr - DA50 Diesels sure are amazing!!! /s
I think these are gorgeous! Wife and I are looking at finally taking flying lessons, though doubtful we'll ever have the money to be in one of these lol
Nice plane, but TTX and SR22T, both with fixed gear, and thus simpler systems, fly faster. From price point, you can get a pressurized six seat M350… Long wings make it a pain to park in most t-hangars. I’m having hard time seeing the practical side of this aircraft.
@@puppetmaster1403 if you got the money to buy this plane, fuel consumption is of no concern to you and you might as well buy an M350 which is faster, more powerful, seats 6 people and is pressurized. The cost of this plane makes no sense, they should’ve stuck with the original design which was a lot cheaper and had a FADEC Continental IOF-550.
Sorry, not falling for the flash and hype. This is another Diamond lead sled. Painfully overweight, overpriced, slow and kind of ugly in a Beech 1900 sort of way. The stats on fuel burn rely on your getting to and staying at FL220, where it might just get to 180kts. Now lets add oxygen in to the hourly cost of flying it. This plane make sense to a rich European or burgeoning China market, but there are far more and better choices for the American one.
I don’t get this either. How much slower does the plane have to go to reach it’s 750nm max? Capability is very unimpressive for the price… But if looks good.
@@puppetmaster1403 Beech Bonanza, Mooney Acclaim, Cirrus SR22T, Piper M350... basically everything else on the market seems like a better deal. Diesels are boat anchors. The M350 gets basically the same MPG, except it's pressurized and flying 50 mph faster!

How much?
@@RobertoGarcia-bv9tiover $600k
1.5 mil
God that thing is gorgeous looking, it’s just a shame it’s not cracking the 200kts cruise range.
And >1000nm range
@@oldsnwbrdr the DA40NG is looking pretty good for that reason
Just upgrade your turbos
And get it tuned of course
Dream airplane for me
Me too!
It's just an aircraft that looks really together, thought about
I sat in this bad boy at Oshkosh. After flying in DA-20s and DA-42s, it felt like sitting on a throne.
Beautiful just wish it was affordable
Wonder if they could build a sport version with a turbo prop installed.
I absolutely love 😍 Diamond Airplanes!
Garmin auto land would be awesome on this aircraft.

Absolutely beautiful aircraft, would live to own one...come on lottery 😀
Find a hangar to fit it and insurance to cover you for less than $20k per year
What a beauty!

After flying the da40, this just feels so surreal
Diesel is the way to go, beautiful aircraft.
a million dollars ?
My guess would be 1.25. Put me down for three of them in different colors, Jeeves.
Google says 1.3m, Oshkosh sold 1 for 1.5m I believe
Well worth the 1.3 price tag
1.5 mil but its great on fuel….😬
Above your right knee is a red, rectangular control. Is it a CAPS handle?
No, it’s the emergency gear extension handle.
Aye!
Beautiful airplane but the SR22T is FAR and above the better airplane in just about every category that matters.

Great avionics suite but for crying out load Garmin, how about a QWERTY keyboard. You know, like what Avidyne offers.

They made this plane to compete with the SR22 and take away market share from them but I doubt it’ll work out
This is the plane I'd buy if I won the lottery

Ugly? Sounds like you're throwing shade cause you ain't got the 1.3 million to buy this masterpiece.
