it was helpful although a bit confusing at the beginning 😂. Any chance you could break down the process a bit more? From pads to sequences / from pads to song mode / from sequences to song mode? I can't find one tutorial that explains the workflow between these modes. I don't understand how to assign A, B, C or D to sequences and the logic behind why you want to do that.
Nice! This new song mode makes a lot more sense to me as well. I think of it as a tracker, but with a more graphical interface. Makes a lot of sense if you are familiar with trackers, or the Elektron song mode.
this song mode, works pretty well. It's not really something for live though. :) Or I need a lot more practice! edit: song mode is definitely something for live. But I don't think you should be setting it up live, but only triggering/playing it live :)
Thank you for your BlackBox tutorials. They've been very helpful. Can I ask you to make a short video showing how to record audio clips of live acoustic instruments, to use BlackBox as a looper? Using Version 3.0.1 I can't seem to get the lead-in to work, so there is no time after hitting record to move my picking hand back to my guitar.
First off, thanks! And then second, YES! That is the big video I want to make. But! I've been struggling with the same thing. The lead-in only seems to work when everything is turned off and you start the recording. So maybe I'll go on the forum and see if we can get a feature request for this. If I can't get it right, I'll at least make a video on my workflow with acoustic instruments and how I go about this.
@@BoringStranger That's great to hear. Thank you very much. If you look for "lead in" on the BlackBox forum you'll see a thread that I started on this issue. I have yet to convince anyone that there is a problem. They seem to think it is a user error on my part, which it may well be since I am a new user. But nothing they have suggested has worked for me.
Ha coming back to this. Did you see my latest vid? I forgot to change one setting. It works now. I can press record in the first count of the last bar and have 2 to 3 counts left before touching my guitar again
@@BoringStranger Hello, yes indeed. Thank you. However someone on the 1010music forum explained to me weeks ago how to do this. I assumed you had also seen his message.
Happy to help. There is nothing special about this Launchpad setting it's the default Drum Layout. In the manual you can see the corresponding notes, from the top of my head it starts at 36 (C1) in the lower left corner going up 16 notes for the yellows. Then... looks up in manual (p. 104 from the version 2 manual) bottom left: 36-51 triggers pads as they are laid out in the *pads* section top left: 52-67 triggers sequences in the same order as in the *seq* section bottom right: 68-83 trigger recording of pads top right: 84-99 clears pads
might be the best way to arrange Clips in lieu of a good clip sequencing workflow. thanks for making this. keep it up, i wanna see more. in depth workflow videos would be nice. creating layers and building them in real time from start to finish with pads, then arranging them into songs and/or sequences would be very nice to see
Sorry you feel that this is t helpful. I’m trying to figure this thing out and haven’t seen anyone give it short explanations that go beyond the manual that is rather brief in some aspects. Is there anything in particular you’d like to be different?
Thank you for this! Feels a lot more intuitive now! 👍
Great to hear that. Hope you have fun with it
Nice video. 👍 I have had such a hard time getting into the zone with this machine. 😅
Hope that it helps!
me too, it is a difficult one to crack but won't give up until I get real fluent with it. it's a nightmare. 😅

I did not. But yes. How silly
Why does the launchpad occupy most of the screen and do absolutely nothing?
Thanks for the feedback. I will take that into account for the next video
Thank you very much for sharing (via vid). Certainly a LOT better workflow. BTW, are you using a Launchpad template to manage/trigger the Blackbox?

Good suggestions, thanks. I was thinking of livestreaming creation of a "song" or jam somewhere soon. ❤
What’s the point of giving a tutorial is you don’t fully understand what you’re doing.

What's the point of you making this comment, mate?
Don't bother with this person. You don't have to please everyone. He is free to make a better one if he wishes to do so.
