  • The Kumasi Zongo community's opinion about the Ashanti tribe in Ghana
There have been a number of videos attaching the Ashanti tribe in Ghana, my tribe and accusing them of being tribalist against other tribes. I thought this was a thing of the past but apparently not.
So in this video, I decided to visit zongo community in Kumasi, a settlement established by traveling tribes in the heart of the Ashanti region capital in Ghana. One to have a feel how life is like over there and two, to ascertain if really Ashantis are tribalistic against other tribes of Ghana. This is a touchy subject but I hope you find it insightful.
    My name is Mickey...Keep Watching!!!
Every country has a story; so does its people. I get to travel and visit different parts of the world due to the nature of my work, so I take viewers with me in the form of vlogs to explore and tell beautiful stories of the people and the places that I am working.
I am dedicated to provide deep, meaningful and entertaining contents for you, my viewers....
    So enjoy!!!

I'm from the eastern region of Ghana but the truth needs to be told, why always the Ashanti. What have the Ashanti's done to most of these tribes in Ghana. But one thing I've observed is that the more you try to destroy them, the more they they becomes powerful. It's only Ashanti region that is housing almost all the tribes here in Ghana but we still try to destroy them.

There's difference between being tribalistic and being too proud of yourself. Akans feel proud of themselves but the other tribes are very tribalistic in the sense that when they are heading a company, they'll like to employ their tribe's people more but Akans are not like that, Akans employ people who know how to do the job irrespective of tribe but the other tribes will choose to employ their tribe's people not paying attention to whether they can do it or not.

She bought a very large polytank the landlady complained it wouldn’t fit her house
She bought bathroom heater, washing machine and the whole house started gossiping about her and almost everyone in the house isn’t in good terms with her

Hmmmm...Very dicey topic but worth exploring, I loved how open-minded that mechanic is. I think Asantes have always had a psychological advantage, derived from historical events & conquests. It takes open discussions like this, to break any misunderstanding. Hey! Some of the minority tribes also need to rid themselves of this "siege mentality"! They hardly step outside their own environment, which also affects their self esteem. Not excluding poverty & deprivation impinging on their wish to aspire & achieve a level playing field. It's also about time they learnt from others too. If your neighbour dies, try & go to express your condolences/attend the funeral and don't ignore because they're not Muslims! All in all, it's brilliant to celebrate diversity, it's liberating!! It's the kaleidoscope of life, we can't all be the same. Thanks v much Mickey ❤

Thing is history favours Asante, dominating culturally, geographically, demographically and economically. The Asante has this inborn sense of pride and esteem that makes us stand out and confident especially of our root and nativity....Now considering the general disposition of Ghanaians as timid, any group among whole possessing even the least of self esteem is likely to be judged arrogant or tribalistic..Asantes have all the native stuff worth the pride and surely others who haven't found themselves in this vein will feel affected considering the "pull our own down" nature of blacks in general.
