BMW 330e MSport. No wonder it’s the UK’s best selling petrol electric hybrid 👍

  • It can be really fast when you want it to be and silent and parsimonious on electric otherwise 😊
My other half dismisses all 3 series as rep cars! 😢Still trying to convince her otherwise🙏

At 2:30, the display saying "Charge immediately" is not one I have ever seen while driving, unless I pull it up myself in iDrive.
This is the display you get when you park, allowing you choose whether to "Charge immediately" or use the scheduled mode for overnight charging on cheap-rate electricity.

Well, the car worked very well, despite saying “charge immediately”😊

Why would you compare the 330e to diesel or petrol-only? Compare it to other plug-in hybrids in its class for an apples-to-apples comparison. And btw, if you only do drive 20 miles a day a diesel is pointless, won't be hardly warm-up, and why by gas only if you can drive on electricity mostly ... you kind of answered your own questions already.

Point taken. I do a 80 mile round trip once a week. And 100O miles every year to France Then the 330d comes into its own. It’s a straight six diesel. Very well engineered and there’s something about BMW six cylinders. There’s no decent comparable hybrid straight rival to the 330e-maybe the next C Class?

@WingsGeo : It seems like a valid comparison to me. I have driven BMW 3 series for many years. When the hybrids came out, I was keen to find any reviews that would help me to figure out if it might be an option I should explore. (I did! 😁 )
In my case, I was not looking for comparisons with other brands.

You’d be lucky even get 20 miles of electric range, especially in winter - Mine gives me barely 17 miles right now.
And the MPG when the electric’s gone is like 28mpg.
      It’s terrible.
Then add to the fact you can’t even quick charge it.
We’re simply not ready for electrified cars.
I dunno why we’re rushing it.

You're driving on the wrong side of the road
