I think I never like an opening video this much. It's even better than every intro for the Champions League I've ever seen. I don't know who made this, but you're doing God's work on Earth!
Fitting tribute to the best team sporting tournament out there (excepting maybe the RWC!). Cant believe we sneaked a win tonight, injuries galore, 5 SN newbies, and playing away at the MS...after the national anthems finished I thought "This is going to be a massacre", and 10 minutes in it was looking that way. OMG then what happened? Anyone could have won that match tonight, but a gutsy win against a magnificent Welsh side on their home patch is something to be savored. Joy!
Wales would definitely be House Targaryen. The crown was violently taken from us by the brutal yet alcoholic House Baratheon that is Ireland, but the Dragon is seeking revenge... England is obviously House Lannister, because no one else likes them, but they think they're better than everyone else. Although Phil Vickery/Tyrion is more likeable - talks a lot though... France are House Stark because they were once dominant and respected but have since been decimated... Although there is some young talent in that team ready to take the world by force again.... Scotland are Castle Black. Stuck up north, relatively weak but resilient and perhaps a growing force to be reckoned with under their new Commander. Italy are... um.... basically Ser Dontos.
Not really cause most, if not all of the inspirations for Game of Thrones comes from Welsh history that pre dates the middle ages. Even down to the Rains of Castermere and the tale behind it, LightBringer, and even The Houses of Targaryen and Stark. The Stark wolf Head is the exact same as the Welsh Dragon Head. Guess you didn't know the Welsh was once in control of Scotland, The Hen Ogledd. Ancient Brythonic kingdoms of what would become known as Scotland.
Given that the series is based on English history, there should be a vid like this depicting the Houses of York and Lancaster from the 1450s + show the REAL wall.
English History? Almost nothing is English history. Most of it comes from Britain at a time when the English were small and feeble on the island. Lightbringer, House Stark (Wolf Head that is clearly The Welsh dragon head), House Targaryen, House (Llan)ister all comes from ancient Brythonic History (meaning Welsh). The Welsh Royal houses (between 410 - 1057) were using Lions for their Houses for centuries before England or Scotland adopted them.

Also, the border between North and Southern Ireland should not appear in this sporting context, as rugby is governed by the IRFU, a body which pre-dates the border and encompasses the entire island.
6N has far more history, rivalry and camaraderie within it's games. I don't think any fixtures in the Rugby Championship can generate the atmosphere that is created when England travel to Cardiff or Dublin. England/Wales is, in my opinion, the greatest rugby rivalry in the world and knowing that every year, we get at least one chance to bring up 134 years of close fought history (12D, 58W, 56L) and fight out the latest installment in one of the two greatest rugby stadiums on the planet is why the 6N is so special. And that's just one fixture, Ireland/Scotland vs. England can be almost as electric, as can Twickenham when France are in town. In short, the 6N is the best because everybody loves to beat England xD
Incredible Intro for one of the Greatest Rugby Tournaments ever conceived.
Still the best opening sequence for any sports event, ever
No, BBC F1 2010 Turkey Redbull intro was better.
Nah euro 2016 was
And world cup 2014

Yay! 6 Nations is back on! And, look, it has a Game of Thrones-style opening. Geeking out hard right now.
Awesome! Lookee, Joscelin le esqurel!
For God's sake! DID THEY JUST SWITCH ITALY'S FLAG COLOURS??!
Gianluca Casu It was fixed literally the same day, it's just that this sort of thing doesn't get forgotten quickly.
I immediately got online and send a protest mail to BBC. Rereading it I felt very british.
not even a rugby fan but I love it
Jonathan Price's voice (the High Sparrow)... He grew up just up the road from me.
Did the big church at the roads end explode?

Yes, because everyone shares your particular prejudices and narrow world view. Well done!

They should do this for the final 8 in the world cup, then final 4 then the last two
Nice video! By the way, italy's logo is wrong in the stadium sequence, but good on the overview with the oval sun.
That was Lindsey Sterlings violin playing
Quick question how come rugby doesn't have pads and helmets like in American football (rugby)

0:51... Oh my...
guys, Italian flag is wrong...I'm sorry, nice idea but huge mistake (it's not a little detail, national flags are important)!!:-(

That violin piece seems familiar, anyone know who's playing it? Cheers!
Lindsey Stirling - Crystallize I think :)
Arran Belden You're right, it's Lindsey Stirling. I was geeking out hard time during these credits.
Arran Belden
You're right, of course. Thanks!
BBC Sport I see what you did here.
#trolling
How could they be so stupid not to know the Italian flag?!
How do you get these bits of film?
Who is the narrator?
Simon Gallagher Aah, I've discovered it's Jonathan Pryce, who will play in s5 of GoT! But thanks anyway!
It's Jonathan Pryce aka Elliot Carver from Tomorrow Never Dies :)
Simon Gallagher Sounds more like Jonathan Pryce to me.
The Italian flag is wrong. poor bbc
the rugby championship is much better Six Nations because its got better teams

Thomas Williams no South Africa to
