How effective is that OG Woodland camo compared to Multicam? Do they still operate in MARPAT or is it only for training now?
They switched to Multi Cam
MARSOC works closely with the ANA (Afghan National Army) and the ANA's regularly wears Woodland camo so Raiders wear it to blend in with them. And when they're not wearing Woodland, they're wearing multicam like the rest of SOCOM

army may have delta force and 75th rangers normal rangers green berets but we marines have marsoc and force recon wich solos

World breaker Superman Oh, those "normal" rangers aren't part of special operations like the 75th Ranger Regiment. They are just graduates of the Ranger School, which I think is a leadership course.

What are the prerequisites to get into A&S? Certain number of deployments, years served, rank, etc?
Wyatt Brown I think you have to be sergeant or be able to be promoted to sergeant and have a PFT of 285 and an ASVAB score of 105 or higher and eligible to re-enlist

Majid Elkhatib Not sure about officers but I know that for enlisted Marines there's no way to go straight into MARSOC. There may be some way as an officer but I doubt it.
Need to be in the Marines for 3 years at least. You cannot go straight out of boot camp or OCS. a 105 or greater on your GT score from the ASVAB. (No waviers) a 235 or higher PFT at least. But remember your going against people who run 285's easily. No NJP's within the last year and within tattoo policy regulations.

From what i understand there is not as clear cut a gear set as more conventional forces. In general you will see things such as. Crye Precision combat uniform. Woodland in this video a few times. Opscore helmet. Peltor comtacs. A variety of chest rigs and plate carriers. Usually Eagle Industries, LBT, Crye, and a few others. Common shoes would be imo Merrell MOAB MIDs and some others you can find through relatively easy research.

A SEAL told me MARSOC is basically the navy SEALS but they do more amphibious operations.
One is not "better" than the other. They have different roles to play. They're not football teams.

@@kem9952 By any chance, did your SEAL friend mention anything else about the Raiders like perhaps maybe his experience working with them, if he ever did that is. I plan on joining them when I enlist in the Marines but you can't really learn much about them unless you know someone close enough. It's okay if you don't feel like answering though
