I started making this video and was bummed - this type of pistol just hasn't been exciting me lately. I didn't even put a red dot on it. Then I shot it. Then I bought a holster for it. The Shadow System CR920X made me a believer.

Not really. Out of the 3 Shadow Systems I saw at the range I worked at, 2 had issues that stopped the owners from depending on the gun for anything other than a range toy. Both happened to be DR920P's but the issues the owners were experiencing were different.

Getting an aggressively comped gun to work reliably requires a level of understanding a lot of people don’t have - it’s probably why Shadow has scaled back their compensator design.
A compensated gun is hard to make a casual gun - and I mean casual in the sense that most people who really like guns still don’t dive deep in understanding how to make them work to exploit a potential advantage.
I know a lot of people who sell 2011 open guns because the guns don’t work - but these people seem to have similar issues in other divisions on other platforms.

@@Osprey1994yep. I had an mr920 last year and it had failure to feed and failure to extract almost every mag. All sorts of different ammo tried with it and none worked. Just last week I decided to give it another shot and picked up a dr920p. It has the same issues. Stove pipes, failure to extract, failure to feed. Happens with Glock mags and every ammo I’ve tried. Even tried the lighter spring it shipped with and that didn’t fix anything. It’s also past the “break in” period and it’s still doing it. My thought is, if you’re gonna make a Glock clone it oughta be able to at least run like a Glock. Both shadows I’ve had have failed horribly to do so. I’m getting rid of it this week and will not be giving them another shot.

I'm sure it's great, and I know I'm going to be called a poor for this, but you can build out a micro dagger with an apex trigger, ported slide/barrel and optic for literally half this price. In all fairness, I don't live in the USA according to PSA, and they likely won't ship the Dagger parts to me even if they are legal to own. Just like they have refused to sell AR parts to residents of my state for the past decade even though they have been legal to purchase and own this entire time.

I love my cr920p. That's been my carry gun since they came out. I take one look at this and think that they should sell just the frame to be able to throw on the cr920p slide. That obviously requires an additional background check, but full firing grip, no chance of pinching the pinky on reload and 2 extra rounds!
I am a strong side carrier, so the standard 920 plus extendo's is about perfect. However, more options are cool!
