    My collection occupies three rooms with over 850 Criterions overall about 3,500 in all over 600 4ks now. I’ve been selling some stuff to CEX lately mainly to regain space.

      @@letstalkcriterion have you kept hold of the older criterion dvd too ? I know there loads they have that haven’t moved up to HD yet.
      It’s a solid amount of movies. You could watch a film a day for the next 10 years 😱
      It’s the space I think that my biggest issue is, along with having seem really poor titles in the collection. I often consider if I did have a bigger space would it affect the way I’ve started to feel about personally having too much ?!

    Hi Phill👋quite an interesting livestream where you show off your entire movie collection,judging from the look of it,it’s a very messy stuff you’ve got there seeing some Blu-ray and DVDs in piles as you are going through the process of culling some of your collection but that’s to expected since you told all of us that your collection is pretty much hectic before you showed to us, looks like it’s a work in progress but as they say you can’t rush progress it’s takes a little longer for that to happen, keep at it and remember that the curse of collecting is real,ooooooooo👻👻👻👍❤️

      Thanks Anthony.
      Yeah that 2nd room is very much a work in organising process (which is why I didn’t show much of it). One step at a time eh.
      Next chance I get it’ll be a CEX visit with a few and then I’ll be on to some eBay listing before hitting the shelves again.
      I’ll show some more of it one day. Hopefully when it’s a little more organised eh.

    I have begun a culling project. tarifolding any DVD/Blu-ray I can. They all go in the inner part of my shelves. The box sets and slip-covered releases are displayed. Since I have all the formats, I put them together by case type. I also stopped buying, full stop. When I cull over 50% then I may resume purchasing. Question: Do you or Glenn collect Classic movies from the 1950s or earlier?

    • @PhillwithadoubleL
      @PhillwithadoubleL  Месяц назад

      @@retrofun41 i stopped purchasing for a good couple of months earlier this year. It was a little weird at first not always expecting a parcel but it was a break I needed from the way I was collecting. I’m now buying again but have really limited what I’m picking up while the cull continues.
      Myself, I don’t really collect classic movies from the 50s or earlier. While they’re interesting to look back on. They’re never usually films that I’d go back to time and time again so don’t tend to actively collect for that sort of time period.

    How can we see your Bigfoot film with Mike Myers? It doesn't seem like it's gotten any kind of streaming or disc release? Also, you don't like Van Damme films?? Do you own any besides Street Fighter?

      @@MoviePalaceOfBlood the Bigfoot thing with Mike Myers was called The Pentaverate and is a series on Netflix. I play Sassy… the Sasquatch !
      Van Damme films are fine, there’s just not that many I feel compelled to own in my collection. I have Nowhere to Run / Maximum Risk and Replicant left on the shelves I think. Most others went off to eBay. I’d potentially go in for better editions of Sudden Death & Time cop.
      Blood sport & Kickboxer I’m not enthused about watching again at the moment, they were are far too often in my youth and just not sure I fancy watching again at the moment.

    Dawn of the Dead is my favourite film of all time, the Second Sight boxset is glorious. No David Lynch between the pair of you, this is unexceptable 😅. But good for you keeping Dawsons Creek. That's what my collection is all about, nostalgia is key. I always revisit old shows.

    • @PhillwithadoubleL
      @PhillwithadoubleL  Месяц назад +1

      @@KirkRedgate yeah, pretty bad for a pair of movie fans to not have Lynch.
      Dawson’s Creek is majorly nostalgic. There are a couple of episodes I’ll go back to. Particularly the little horror episode that Kevin Williamson wrote when he was coming off the back of some major horror success (think the episode was called The Call). I’m actually amid a revisit of ER randomly. Pretty easy watching and it remains such a well made show.

    • @KirkRedgate

      @PhillwithadoubleL Truly. David Lynch is a legend, especially Twin Peaks. Yeah, I like the horror episode too. I think series 1-4 are great. 5-6 loose steam when they move off to college, take different paths in life. Yet remain close friends. It's all a bit cringe and unrealistic. I have a bunch of old favourite TV shows on DVD and Blu-ray that I revisit. I like having them in the collection. Some are hard to find outside of physical media.
