Does this sensor allow the user to check the flowrate against a calibrated flowmeter? How would one check if there are any leaks within the cavity of the sensor? Ultimately, how can we check what we are measuring is accurate if we need to comply with regulated air quality standards? Thanks in advance for your insights.

Hello I need a bunch of these sensors to cover a huge geographical locations I need the complete kit for each meteo station To prepare my budget request, how much do I have to expect for a complete kit ?
Hello, thank you very much for your inquiry. A kit costs around 60 euros and can be ordered from the distributors. Here you can find your local distributor: www.sensirion.com/distributors Hope this helps. Your Sensirion Team
Hi Pande, thank you for your interest. The mass concentration range is 0-1000ug/m3 while the number concentration is 0-3000#/cm3. There is one laser in the SPS30 sensor. Your Sensirion Team
Hi Oscar, the sensor measures the PM concentration locally, at the location where it is installed. Whether the measurement is representative for the whole room, depends on the location and the distribution of the aerosol in the room. The actual air flow through the sensor is very small (
Hi Saket Gajbhiye Unfortunately, you can not order the cable separately, but only in combination with the sensor. You can order the evaluation kit (SEK-SPS30) directly from our distributor Digi-Key: www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=SEK-SPS30 We hope we could serve you. Your Sensirion Team
Hi! Thank you very much for your inquiry. The smallest detectable particle size is 300nm as specified in the datasheet: www.sensirion.com/file/datasheet_sps30 . The SPS30 particulate matter sensor has achieved MCERTS certification, which proves the performance of the PM sensor. In addition, the certification confirms that the SPS30 can be easily integrated into applications that comply with the European Air Quality Standard DIN EN 15267. You can check our website to learn more: www.sensirion.com/en/environmental-sensors/particulate-matter-sensors-pm25/. Hope that helps. Your Sensirion Team
Hi! What do you recommend to connect the sps30 to an external microcontroller besides the evaluation kit? I bought a zhr-5 adapter, but I can't find cables of the right size to reach the pins in a stable way. Thank you in advance.
Hi Andrea,Thank you for your inquiry. The easiest way to assemble a cable is by buying already crimped leads. The following products from Digi-Key have been tested as a solution:455-1201-ND ZHR-5 Connector 455-3079-ND Crimped LeadThe lead has been pre-crimped on both sides. If flying leads are preferred, just cut the lead in the middle. We hope this helps.Your Sensirion Team

Hi! I recently bought this sensor without the evaluation kit since I need to connect the sensor to a microcontroller using uart technology for communication. The problem is that when I just try to power the sensor with a 5V source it doesn't work. Do I need to connect RX and TX pins even if I just wanted to power the sensor to check it without sending measurement data or it should at least turn on with the correct supply at pins 1 (VDD) and 5 (GND)? Thank you.
Hi Andrea, If you power the SPS30 it’ll enter idle state. The fan doesn’t start spinning in idle mode which means you won’t really notice the sensor has been powered as there’s no other indication. Only after sending the command “start measurement” the fan will start spinning. This requires you to connect the communication lines as well. Kind regards, Your Sensirion Team
Hi Mata Nawa, thank you for your inquiry. The SPS30 is factory calibrated. Therefore, recalibration is not possible but also not expected to be required. Have a nice day! Your Sensirion Team
Hi Nuno, thank you for your inquiry. You can read the different sensor outputs in the SPS30 datasheet, which you can download from our download center. For mass concentration the available outputs are PM1, PM2.5, PM4 and PM10. For number concentration the available outputs are PM0.5, PM1, PM2.5, PM4 and PM10. We hope this helps. Your Sensirion Team

Please i would like you help. I bought 2 sensors but i get the same response from both of them. Thanks.
