Dude you made that thing SING! To add to the story: this is 100% the truth. We sent the message to Baum, waited an hour, Andrew got a notification that his Uber had arrived (this is around 1am now), as he got up to leave and I got up to walk him to the door, I get a text message from Baum that just said: YES. We scrambled back and got the guitar 😂
Thank you for an awesome video, Andrew! Welcome to our small Baum Family now! And thanks to @BuddyBlues for the introduction and spamming me with his good ideas. Please keep doing that!
What I really appreciate about your playing on this video is that, while you play incredibly well, it’s not just endless lead licks and wow stuff. It’s nice to hear a bit of someone playing through song parts and such, not just whizzing all about the fretboard. Nicely done.
Great video, as always! I’d seen the higher-end Baum guitars reviewed online before, but was dissuaded by the price tag. I didn’t realize they had a lower-priced tier, so I will definitely be adding it to my list.
These guitars look and sound awesome.. The only thing that’s keeping me on the fence is the value for used Baum guitars.. Some newer guitar brands have absolutely no value on the used markets.. No one wants to buy unless they are Fender, Gibson or other well known brands.
Nowadays Korea are producing some pretty decent guitars (and cars, BTW). It's actually hard to find a guitar made in Korea that isn't really good..! I'm sure the Wingman series will do well, insofar as the ultra-conservative guitar buying public will let them be. For some people, only Gibsons/Epiphones or Fenders/Squiers will do - but they could be missing out. Brands such as Eastman, Samick, Cort, Peerless and Crafter have a lot to offer. Prior to developing tendonits in my right shoulder, I had a fairly large body archtop F-hole hollow body guitar made by Peerless, which was excellent. But for my shoulder I've have kept that guitar to this day. The tone was excellent. The same was true of an older jazz guitar I once had (again, hollow-body, F-hole archtop) made by Samick. It was very impressive, with a wonderful jazz tone which even the best Gibsons couldn't surpass.
Really like them but buying something without trying is a problem for me. By the way keep up the videos cause they’ve been soooo helpful. Considering joining your patreon.
Fwiw they have a try before you buy 45 day program now. Still costs a hundred bucks to ship back but you can at least give it a go for cheaper this way if you end up not liking it.
I'm a relative beginner, and looking to buy my first electric (started on acoustic). I know the Stratocaster and Telecaster are the biggest electric guitars recommended to beginners, but I want something a little more distinctive. Would you recommend doing this, or should I start with something like a strat?
Absolutely nothing wrong with going for something more distinctive! Choosing your first electric guitar really just comes down to finding something that inspires you to play. As long as it's from a reputable brand, then you're good ☺
Fair enough. Although I’m not sure if you’re going to find any guitars at this price point that aren’t made overseas other than MIM Fenders. I could definitely be wrong though.
To be fair, we've updated the Wingman since Andrew got his. :) We've teamed up with an awesome manufacturer in Indonesia who can make these at low-quantity batches, so we can focus on the high quality :). That also gave us the opportunity to custom-design even more hardware for these meaning that the Wingman now got custom-designed tuners, bridge, pickups - oh and the rest of the guitar design is ours too. The only "stock" part is the strings, switch/pots, nut and stop-tail/Bigsby, which actually makes the country of origin more or less irrelevant. What matters is if the manufacturer can match our design (= looks, functionaly and quality). And these guys can :) Best, Jeppe

Thanks man! It truly was such a ridiculous series of events 😂
What do you guys think of the Baum Wingman? You'll be seeing it a lot more on the channel in the future! Thanks for watching!

Glad you guys liked the video! I'm loving the guitar. And @BuddyBlues will always be the 🐐
Make this same guitar in the forest green and I’m in :)
@@sG_Chimera how's this? baumguitars.com/product/wingman-deep-forest/

They're great guitars!

Followed the guitar from Buddy's video. Lovely.
Buddy is the man!
Piano black and gold is a killer combo 🔥🔥❤❤
Hello Andrew,
This guitar design is innovative.
Totally agree!
Just picked one up! Fun guitar!
As soon as they do this in their white color, I’m buying it. Checks all the boxes.
Yeah I've been just looking at the Vegas series of the wingman and I'm definitely gonna get me one
Great video, as always!

Thank you! And yeah totally. I had seen them all over instagram for a while but had no idea they had the more affordable ranges. Such cool guitars!
Sounds really good. Love your playing.
Thank you!
The new Andrew Clarke signature guitar ! Very nice guitar definitely suits you and your style.
Ayyy thank you! I agree! Big fan of it 😀

That's a very fair point! And I don't plan on stopping anytime soon :) Thanks for checking out the videos!

They should offer a few lefties also at good price.

@@andrewclarkeguitar Thank you for the response! Can't thank you enough for the straightforward, practical, and insightful nature of your videos.
How low can you set the action of the strings?
Pretty much as low as you want.
Lost me when I found out that Korea was making them. They definitely look cool and sound different but decent.

Wish it was 24 3/4 scale
Unless you buy a custom shop these guitars are made in china.
