I love that switch axe actually feels like it has a bunch of viable options and isn't ruled by one weapon tree that outdamages everything else in every situation. I wish more weapons were like that.
It is for me. I see 0 reason to farm for a weapon that will just do less damage then the weapon that I already have. I want to craft new weapons that progress my dps not regress it. It's more of an issue of capcom being terrible at balancing elemental and raw. Switch axe is an outlier because it has more mechanics to the weapon instead of just 1 raw stat and 1 elm stat.

I agree that having one weapon that makes everything else useless sucks but generally the difference to "inferior" weapons is negligible especially for non-speedrunners, like killing a monster 1 minute faster doesnt seem like a big deal to me
@@dbgarf Nah, Tigrex SA is good but with Switch Axe you really have to pay attention to the monster's hitzones, particularly their elemental ones. In this case, Daora is actually weaker to Thunder than Dragon, hence the choice of using the Zinogre SA over something like Fall Drache. And all of the Element phial Thunder SAs just don't measure up to the Zin one. Maybe that will change with Sunbreak and the Astalos SA... As for the Tigrex SA, it's only really good for monsters with no truly good elemental hitzones, like Magnamalo (save for the 25 to Water on his back legs) or Kushala. The Diablos SA is around 1-2% better, but it needs Handicraft to reach white sharpness, and keeping that white sharpness is a chore compared to the Tigrex one.
@@Benjiboi No problem. I know you’re not a big fan of ZSD, I’m hoping Rise 3.0 will have monsters that don’t get toppled as much, that is my wish for the update

4 seconds? If you're referring to Hiro's time (great run!) of 4'20, keep in mind that that's a freestyle run. It is not possible to compare two runs made with different ruleset.
while weapon sheath(also make sure u have enough to morph sword), run up to monster R2 then A then R2 to switch to axe and then R2 to switch back to sword then A again now if you have the weapon all power up you can X+A to do ur ultimate if not then just loop the combo again.
The combo suggested by Eric is indeed the "ideal combo route", but it really works only if moster is down. In all other cases you need to adapt the combo taking into account various factors, like you positioning, the weakpoints of the monsters, the time you have before the monster will attack you, ecc. Switch Axe in this sense is very versatile weapon, but this also means you need to do a lot of practice to learn what and when to do a specific attack.
CB is an offensive skill, wich is a good thing, but for Power Phial Switch Axe it's not a top priority skill. WEX 3 is mandatory for every set, but for this run I choose something different since I use a lot ZSD and SWB which their explosion cannot crit
@@AquaAmazake WEX has more priority than CB. Also you must consider that for Power Phials SA Power Prolonger 3 is semi-mandatory. So after you have slotted in a set Rapid Morph 3, Sharpness management skills (Protective Polish 3 and Handicraft for reaching White Sharpness), WEX, Attack Boost and Power Prolonger (only for Power Phial), if you have still some space you should slot in CB and CE.
really enjoying the TA rule gameplay, nice work!

If you arent a speedrunner or a meta tryhard, this is a non-issue

kinda, but there's definitely a couple of Switch Axes that really obsolete almost everything else. Tigrex is pretty dominant.

Those predictions were SMOOTH
Amazing run, wow. Congrats!
just very clean switchaxe play, nothing to add. good job!
This is amazing you’re so skilled this just shows me I have a long way to go still
That run got me all hot and bothered 😳
Absolutely wonderful gameplay, Benji~
Very impressive run especially considering that it’s TA . Gg’s benji
Nothing but top tier runs on this channel. Never disappointed with any of your uploads, keep it up 👍☺️
Thank you Caolan!

Absolutely insane run dude, GZ!
Thank you! Now I'm waiting for your sub 4 in freestyle!
had so much fun watching your kushala practice stream! nice work on the sub 5!
Damn, makes switch axe looks 3 times cooler than when the common man use it. Wow.
very interesting set, man. pretty dope that it's meta without crit!
Portable 3rd vibe with the comeback design.
NON HO PAROLE. Mio Dio, Benji, mio Dio!
Run pazzesca! Complimenti
You earned it ! Great job !
Grande Benji , hai tagliato praticamente più di 30 secondi.
Lol Goss Harag didn't want any trouble at the end there

Woah wasn't your PB on yesterday's stream still over 5 min?! Then you suddenly get 4'24 wtf, you're a madman Benji!
Yeah it was 5'14. But with perseverance and a bit ... uhm, a LOT of luck I managed to achieve this
🦀 Weakness Exploit is dead 🦀
It's not death. The sets you see in speedrun often aren't the best sets to use for general use.
Awesome 👏
nice run! why didn't u use a blast swaxe, in the practice(on twitch)u did really well with one of them
In the end Zinogre (and full attack rampage) Switch Axe were better options for this run
Impressive run. Do you change area to prevent Kush from fleeing?
Yes. I don't think this should be allowed in the TA rules honestly. But I don't do the rules, so we might as well take advantage of it!
What's the ideal combo route for SwAxe in this game? I only played it a little in World

What does power axe mode do to your weapon now? anyways, great run!
It makes the Amped state build up faster
As said by the sensei, it speed up the charge to enter amped state
@@Deaga I see, thanks! I am honored to have two switch axe gods reply to me! :D
How did you get white sharpness on that weapon (Zinogre). I thought it is in blue sharpness? Does handicraft upgrade the tier of sharpness?
Yes
With two points of Handicraft you can reach the white sharpness on Zinogre's Switch Axe
