The Isle of Man graced the 1990 Manx Rally with top drivers including Bertie Fisher (BMW M3), Colin McRae (Ford RS Cosworth), Russell Brookes (Ford Sapphire Cosworth 4x4) and Chris Birbeck on a rare outing (Vauxhall Astra GT/E).
The event was action packed all the way and punctuated by some spectacular incidents including one massive prang which is featured in this video. Controversy raised its ugly head towards the end but the strongest memories are of some fast, exciting sport on the island.

Looks like these rally e30 m3's handled pretty well and were easy to drive.
Not one way is that easy to drive well how he drives it
Easy to drive? the only way these cars liked to be driven was valves bouncing out of the bonnet and on the absolute limit

Facts are facts the group a tarmac Cosworth was better than a m3 and all,the top m3 men got Cosworths and ditched the German
Unfortunately Bertie fisher died peacefully in the helicopter crash in 2001 along with his son and daughter
And this year is 22 years since he died
He lost to much time due to unnecesarily sliding.
