    The exhaust mic is a really great touch. That’s added a lot of character to these videos. Very nicely done. Loving this as a separate channel.

    • @MOTOBOBVLOGS
      @MOTOBOBVLOGS  3 года назад

      Thanks! It's a bit hit and miss - this bike has a great induction and exhaust sound, so sticking the mic under the seat picks up a bit of both. But I was on a Harley a couple of days ago - nowhere to put it under the saddle and the stock pipes really smothered the sound. That said, I've got a 1290 Super Duke R coming up and a 1250 GS with the Akra pipes, so both of those should work nicely :)

    Took delivery of mine on Monday and I just love it (so far). First time riding with a clutch, so I‘m a little nervous at times, but that is one of the reasons that I felt the quickshifter was worth it for me. Maybe not for everyone, but having learnt on a DCT and then switched to a Zero, I felt the QS would allow me to build up my confidence using the clutch without it becoming all or nothing from the word go. Big tour coming up next weekend so I‘m keen to see how i get on. All in all, a lovely bike.

    Great perceptive, pragmatic review. Your assessment of quickshifters and razor sharp brakes are spot on for me. I'll take progressive brakes, as in want more pull more, any day thank you. Quickshifters are great fun and worth time on the track but I prefer the involvement of manually shifting.
    Almost there with a deal on an 850 Sport and a ride on one will probably seal it!
    Keep it up...Subscribed

    @12:03 yes you can, it's just hard to do but also very satisfying when doing it properly :). Going down an alpine hairpin, having to rev match while downshifting and breaking ... definetly a sphincter tightening experience. But I do agree, a quickshifter helps a lot in those instances.

    I bought a GT Pro in December and am loving it. The first time I rode in rain I found out my leather jacket (I've had it about four years) has mesh under the armpits. The stock windshield is just the right width to direct rain to armpit width. Within minutes I was riding home with water running down my ribs inside the jacket. It didn't take long to get a wider Givi touring shield on it.
    Unfortunately, the 900's quickshifter is getting a reputation for failing. Mine went at about 10,000 kms and am waiting for a warranty replacement. Some owners have them fail much sooner. Ironically for a British bike, people think they don't like getting wet.

    I have the 2020 Tiger 1200 XCX with the quick shifter. I will never go back! You can use it or not at times. I love the fact that I can seamlessly down shift 2 gears mid corner with the throttle on to be in the perfect corner exit gear. It's simply MAGIC!!! Triumph has the smoothest one on the planet so it's a no brainer. The 850 is going to be a winner because they can't keep them on the shelves here in the USA. Great video Sir!

I'm looking to upgrade to my first adventure bike. I'm 24 years old, still at the beginner side of motorriding, I only ride on the road (in the Netherlands, we dont have a lot of ofroad). Which of the 2 bikes you recommend? I appreciate it

    I’m really short, 5’1” or even less. I’m going to buy the 900 GT Low, 850 Sport with the low seat, or a Speed Twin 900. I really like Triumph. I sat on the 900 and 850 yesterday with regular seats and with butt scoots I could ride them fine. Lower seats would make it better, however. The 900 GT Low would be the ideal seat height for an adventure bike. And then there’s cost. That nudges me toward the Speed Twin 900. I could then trade up for a Tiger a couple of years later.

    I think you really hit on here something comparing the 890 S to the Tiger 850 Sport. I was sitting on the edge of my seat just as you were going to say which one you would pick (and then went on to talk about future filming location...).
    I want to ride off road, but I truthful, it is really just not available much here unless you just happen upon a spot.
    So, which one would you pick?
    It is a tough choice.

    • @MOTOBOBVLOGS
      @MOTOBOBVLOGS  3 года назад +1

      Honestly I still don’t know. I guess the 890 and Tiger 900 Rally might be a better comparison because they’re closer in price and features. To be honest I’d probably go for the tiger 900 for the finish and looks which are far better IMO, but when the Husky Norden 901 is released with the 890’s engine and chassis in a better looking package... I’d find that hard to resist.

    • @brentpetersen7075
      @brentpetersen7075 3 года назад

      @@MOTOBOBVLOGS the Tiger 850 Sport is cheaper new at $11,999 as compared to the KTM 890 Adventure S at $13,100 in the USA. This makes it very tempting, plus more dealer support for Triumph.
