Why don't bike manufacturers put adequate mudguards on their machines? Having to add a rear hugger and a fender extender to a £10,000 motorcycle, just to keep it clean and undamaged in normal use, is just crazy.
You'll get no argument from both of us. Hugger, fender extender and rad guard should be basic for the road 👍
Can you share some photos of the under seat setup . I have a tiger 900 GTP, so it’s slightly different . But want to change to this configuration.
Congrats on the IAM , I’m a ROSPA boy, and plan to do the IAM in 2024.
Thanks fellas. Love my 850 Sport!
Cheers! 👍
Great review, love my sport 850 with similar upgrades. I’ve got Royal Enfield hand guards at £35-40 look bril and very strong.👍
DrJ loves his too👍 Thanks for watching.
Very nice bike 👍
Love the colors
Great and fun review 😎
Cheers! As always, thanks for watching 👍
Nice review I had to laugh when I saw you had left all stickers on tank, I took mine off after its 1st service.
DrJ refuses to remove them 👍
That was exactly what I was looking for as you added so many accessories, I would add if I bought one this spring. Thanks for the review and ideas. One question, can you comment on the seat comfort on longer trips. Would you use an Airhawk pad or similar product? I have an 850 Sport rented for a weeklong tour this spring. Thanks very much.
Cheers, thanks for watching. Hard to say with seats, very subjective. But it's comfortable enough for 2 or 3 hours between stops. We rarely ride for longer than that without a break. Good luck 👍
Super organised under the seat!
Sadly my Hepco&Becker engine guards came with unfitted connector.. xD It was too small! After one month I didn't get a proper one from producer. Sad.
Send them back maybe?
Interesting review, I’ve just bought a2023 850 sport in baha orange from youles
That's a new colour then? Youles seem to have a good rep too 👍
Hi watched this Video a month ago and have just brought the same plastic thermo flask as you have fixed to the rear of the tiger but having trouble finding the fixings that you hold it to the bike with can you direct me please
Many thanks
Graham

Just can't remember which. I suspect either would work though.
Thank you much appreciated 🙏
Love you guys, great video, bought my 850 late in November and didn't get to ride much, and work too much to enjoy weekends, and the weather being shit, but can't wait to really put some miles on it soon.
Cheers! Hopefully there’ll be more sunshine soon. We can but hope 🤞👍👍
Hi, do you or DrJ know where to get the power plug compatible with the accessory power socket on the 850 sport? thanks
Hella Din plug I think. Somebody will correct me if wrong. Used also by BMW , I seem to remember. 👍
Thank you. @@CodgerBiker
There is a new blue one like your Tiger on the floor of the dealer in Grand Junction, Colorado for about $2,500 discount. I’m working on my wife to let me add a 4th bike to our garage. I’ve been married 47 years and she’s already threatened to put me out on the curb with a sign that says Free. So I have to tread lightly. Question: When is the first valve inspection due and how much for that service. Keep the shiny side up.😎👍
I don't know when the first valve inspection is but everyone says the valves are set way too tight from the factory if that helps.
Thanks for a great video, could you ask john do triumph supply a owners handbook with the bike, it looks like you have to go online for any information. Is it possible to get your mileage showing on the dash, I can’t find it anywhere on my 850 sport.
Do you mean a ‘Repair Manual’ detailing dismantling etc. if so I know that it doesn’t. DrJ has been looking for one specific to 850 Sport. None of my recent bikes came with one but I have managed to source one (eventually). I suspect they must supply a basic Owner’s Manual. I found one here: images.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/media-library/files/service%20manuals%20and%20handbooks/february-2021/cx7/tiger%20850%20sport%20owners%20handbook%20%20english.pdf?la=en-za
But I will ask DrJ and get back to you on here. Do you mean trip milage, or true milage? I’m sure it is available on one of the dash options. Again, I’ll ask…
I was meaning true mileage
Are you experience any vibration between 3k-4k rpm? Thx for the review!
DrJ says no! 👍
Great approach to all of this! HIGHLY entertaining. Would love to know more details about the total install of the lights. I looked up the actual lights, super reasonable, but they appear to end up with just a wire, whereas the ThunderBox needs a plug-in type connection. Then again, I may be wrong. Is there some sort of wiring harness? AND, not least, how did you mount them, and to what part of the bike? So many questions, so thanks in advance for any details, as finding a set of auxiliary lights for this bike proving very challenging. Love your work!
Hello. Thanks for nice comments. Fortunately the crash bars he used have threaded holes for lights built into them. The cheapo lights come with cheapo brackets. Fortunately it all fitted nicely. If it hadn’t then some sort of light clamp fitting might have been needed to go round the bars. He’s done a thousand miles in all weathers and they still work - can’t argue at that price. 👍 BTW there is a switched supply line under the Tiger seat. It’d easily power those lights with no need for a Thunderbox, unless (like DrJ) you just wanted one.
@@CodgerBiker Okay, I'll bite. What is a "switched supply line" and how do you identify it? Not really needing a Thunderbox, as all I'm wanting to power is a set of up-front auxiliary lights. See what you're dealing with? A complete electrical noob!
Assuming you have the same bike there is a 12v supply socket (accessory) I discovered in one of the videos (maybe the gps install I can't remember). Anyway it is switched, in that it disconnects when you turn off the ignition. Great, as it prevents battery discharging when not using the bike - in simple terms: ignition on = lights on. ignition off = lights off.

What bar risers do you have on the Tiger 850 please?
He hasn't any. Not felt the need 👍
lovely ideas for accessories
Cheers! Chosen by DrJ himself 👍
Would you choose this bike over 900 GT? Why?
Much better value 👍
It is not better value with all the accessories
