This video is so spot on. My friend who was working as a patient care coordinator for a plastic surgeon who opened up a clinic in Calabassas California and it also had a skin rejuvenation side that used a professional grade RF Machine. At night when everyone left, he would be the last person to lock up the place, well he decided to secretly start using the RF Device on himself because it would give him immediate results by firming and tightening his skin and then he would apply a bunch of serums, go home, get dolled up and go out to the clubs. He ended up moving back to Oregon abruptly and OH MY GOSH, when I saw his face I was MORTIFIED!!! He was NOT trained on how to use the device and literally dissolved not only that fat pads in his cheeks, but the fat in the mid facial section and even the tissues in his nose. I thought he was sick or on drugs and that's when he told me that he had damaged his face from the RF Device and thought that he had a close enough relationship with one of the aestheticians and asked her to help him fix it. She reported him to the Doctor and they pulled him into the office and explained that what he had done was not reversible and that only a fat transfer or fillers would replace all the volume he had destroyed and even those procedures would have to be repeated overtime. He was terminated immediately and it is so sad, because he is such a social butterfly and he ruined his good looks. I've never heard him cry so hard and it haunts me to this day. So to see this video and hear exactly what improper usage of this device can do, really put things into perspective for me. This is a valuable lesson for anyone reading this to be an honest employee and to NEVER use high grade medical devices on yourself, especially if you are not licensed nor trained!....
At 61 all I do is botox around every 4 to 6 months. Heavy moisturizer and retinA at night and only a good sunscreen during the day. That's all I'm willing to do. It gets to be to much. Plus I try not to gain to much weight. So far I'm happy with my aging.
It’s better to keep it simple as all these products can add inflammation and barrier damage, anyway. All you need is a way of washing your face once a day, moisturising/hydration and SPF as the basics. Everything else compliments that, but that’s the foundation.
WHAT YOU just said about these lasers & age related vs disappointed women blaming fat loss & its aging is PURE BULLSHIT. Stop 🛑 that please! A. The laser if not a hoax SHOULD deliver better skin results, not worse & if fat was lost due to a laser- it would be Noticeable within less than a year. Normal aging is slower than that!
THANK YOU for making this video! This is the top #1 FAQ I get about my at-home rf devices. I always say they don't reach the fat layer and tell everyone to make sure they follow the manual for best results. So happy to see this video!
@@kit.e6864 truthfully I wasn’t seeing much result… and I did it for months. So I switched to an LED red light therapy mask. I see my lines have gotten better with that
I found that gaining weight made my face look a lot better! Like so much better I couldn't believe it lol. I hope the best for u thank u so much for this video ❤
@@dobcsek It is a trade off. You are likely talking about your overall look..a combination of your body and face. For almost all women, having higher bodyfat does make the face look younger. There is a famous quote by Catherine Deneuve..."At a certain age, you have to choose between your face and your ass."
I used the Newa device for 8 weeks and it was during a super busy time in my life so I really didn’t pay much attention to any results during that time. Just committed the time and really kind of ignored assessing an outcome until the end. I was genuinely shocked when I finally took the time to stop and take stock of what progress I was making. I have always had very full cheeks naturally, and my big full cheeks are…..flat. I panicked. I didn’t even know that was possible. I was seriously wondering if I was just imagining it but truly, it’s nearly impossible to deny. I haven’t touched the device since. Frankly, I’ve only considered picking it back up again to use under my chin. If it caused significant fat loss on my full cheeks, which was very upsetting, perhaps it can redeem itself by helping with my double chin! All in all, I advise very real caution. Mine is a cautionary tale.
@@Tia-to2qc I can imagine that sounds odd. I’m probably the odd one…..I just don’t spend much time looking in the mirror. (ETA: I don’t use a mirror when I use the device.) One of my children has special needs and, as such, looking in the mirror is a bit of a luxury. I’m always on the go. The whole reason I decided to use this device was because, on those occasions I would take the time to stop and look, I wasn’t loving what I was seeing. So, no, I don’t think this happened suddenly. I imagine it happened gradually over the course of 8 weeks and I simply didn’t take the time to look. I know that probably sounds strange to a lot of people, but a lot of my life is a bit outside what is typical. That’s just how it goes I guess. LOL
@@JNWG79 I think read the whole youtube comment section first. Someone said, they lost the fat but gained a turkey neck. Let us know the make you are using too
Who wants to take these treatments when you know this. Think about it, you may lose your face volume prematurely for good. Then you start to consider fillers and there is no end to it. Use sunscreen and retinol and forget those risky treatments, just my opinion.
Would retinol help me lift my eyebrows? I understand that things like ultherapy help lift brows by stimulating collagen production but retinol also stimulates collage production too.
@@bogse Wow, was completely not expecting this type of response! It was never my intention to make you so incredibly angry with my question. I merely thought it would be interesting to see what you thought of my suggestion. I do hope you feel better soon though. I'd probably suggest a nap to make you feel better, as perhaps you are just tired.
Skinny, thin skinned white women need to be especially careful with all devices. We especially can not afford any fat loss and I learned this the hard way. I got a really high powered IPL done at a reputable plastic surgeon’s office in Beverly Hills and I experienced an immediate flattening of my cheeks over the following days. I was so distraught about it that I had to get filler. They *say* that it is not possible for IPL to cause fat loss because it doesn’t go that deep but my face and filler bills say otherwise. I also have the before and after photos to prove it. I think a lot of these device are too risky for people that have extremely thin skin and minimal facial fat.
These new medical devices and procedures do not get evaluated in any systematic way. Filler migrates and people are experimenting on their faces and future looks. Be careful - it's impossible to avoid aging.
I have been praying for your son's recovery and for your wellbeing. Yesterday I was thinking and wondering how you guys were doing, so pleased to see your video. Sending much love from England
I had 2.5mm RF dermastamp - 4 painful sessions. It caused drastic fat loss in my face. I'm 28 and I look 40. I went to experienced dermatologist to treat deep acne scarring (combined with subcision and tca cross).
My observation: I worked in surgery clinic with doctors, watching all patients and we also modelled to check effects of treatments ourselves. I unfortunately wanted RF machine called Morpheush and regreted. After one session, my cheeks flatten so bad. I wanted opposite effect as I am 30, tightening and plumping. If professional tells you something is wrong its not for their benefit, its for yours 🤗 My friend used it for belly after weight loss and as you can imagine, RF is wonderful for belly as we never lack fat there even after 25yo🙃 So people- RF is amazing but for jaw if someone have fat or stubborn belly or thighs 🙌🏾 but not for most of face
@@beyzabeyza8190 If you do mid face filler it will look natural, doctor inject cheek apples next to nose, i injected two syringes and looked great, natural, or maybe think of Sculptra for next time if you will like the effect( filler you can dissolve)
I've commented this on other channels before, but never got a real answer. It's not just the fat loss issue that has raised a lot of questions, it's also the frequency of use. If we’re denaturing the collagen, is the goal not to allow for it to go through a full collagen cycle, which takes at least four weeks? Otherwise, wouldn't you just be breaking down the collagen over and over again before it was able to rebuild? If these devices aren't strong enough to break down collagen they wouldn't really work and if they are it wouldn't make sense to use them several times a week or even every day. None of the manufacturers seem to be able to provide any answers to this.
Yes, the radiofrequency treatment should respect the collagen life cycle. It should be done only twice a month (at a 15-day interval). I did it for a year on my inner thighs, using the 15-day interval, and I loved the results. My inner thighs had a 'melted' appearance.
Thank you, Dr Dray. I got the Tripollar Stop VX gold at the start of the pandemic and I love that it's made the fine lines around my eyes and mouth so much less noticeable. (or maybe that's the Omnilux?). I don't even use it as often as I'm supposed to. Glad you mentioned that it's never been shown to cause fat loss. The heat is barely noticeable so I can't see how that could cause fat loss; however, I can't tolerate the RF+DMA mode on my jawline, so I haven't used that.
I had very good results with radiofrequency at home device, mixed with dermapen perfect combo, I also do radiofrequency 3 weeks before doing chemical peel, my skin looks fabulous
I say skip the RF if you're afraid of fat loss and just do NeoGen Plasma, it's literally so amazing! @Dr Dray, can you do a video on NeoGen? it's a newer device in the US but has been around in Europe for awhile!
@@ChloeEngel-fc4mf I have! I've done 4 treatments since late November 2022, and have definitely seen results from it. I first did a low energy treatment, then 2 low/high energy treatments, and finally a low energy treatment most recently. I start to see firming of my skin usually between 2 weeks and 2 months after a session, and changes in the skin can continue for 4 to 6 months. My low energy treatments have absolutely been beneficial, but I'm wondering if I should have just done one or two high energy treatments instead for better results. NeoGen has become my go-to because it can be used on the eyelids. I highly recommend! Some people can get dramatic results with just one or two low energy treatments, but high energy does have a little more oomf.
This is true!! I bought one for home use and I noticed that I lost volume on my upper cheeks/ face. Something within me told me don't use it anymore: haven't ever since. I also got two in office treatment jawline & neck and it happened again in the area where you get turkey neck it got slightly but noticeably loose skin. Never again!! My neck area is now firm & toned!! I started taking collagen and it seemed to help to plump my skin! Thank goodness I caught on with a first treatments and stopped!

Same experience I had. It first happened years ago with a really good provider and then I bought a home device and thinking that it wouldn't happen with a home device and it did.

I have used TriPollar's facial RF devices (STOP Eye and STOP X Rose) for half a year and if anything, my face feels fuller and more plump, with less hollow cheeks. If the devices could melt fat then that would actually be awesome since I could use it to melt my under eye fat pads (aka eye bags). No such luck so far, just tighter and brighter under eye skin which does reduce the appearance of bags in a different way :)
It's funny that when you frame the same issue as desirable, people think it's less likely. I think our lizard brains are always scanning for threats, making negative scenarios seem more likely than they are. People tend to be doubtful that fat melting devices or procedures work for the body where loss of fat is considered positive, but are very cautious of many facial procedures and treatments in case they might cause fat loss (tret, red light therapy, RF). If we could melt fat by applying tretinoin then it would be very easy to be skinny!
Yeah, home RF devices aren't strong enough to do that or else people would be using them on their butt and thighs lol (by people, I mean me...I'd be using them on my butt and thighs.haha)
@@cararichman1729 TriPollar does have a POSE device for the body, with monopolar technology that is supposed to penetrate deeper and even melt fat. Maybe worth looking into 😊
My experience was different with this exact device. Just a warning to anyone not to go near the eyes and follow the correct timing. I am 34 and don’t have much facial fat to begin with and this has contributed to facial fat loss in me in the cheeks that now I cannot reverse.
@@cararichman1729 I have just bought RF and cavitation/ ultra sound etc 6 in 1 slimming machine for body and face, so who knows? but deffo wont be using it on my face.

I’m just so confused because Dr.D is saying the at home devices WILL NOT cause fat loss but then you have all these people commenting they used them and had soooo much fat loss? I understand In clinic procedures but again she’s stating there is no way these at home machines can get hot enough or penetrate to the level that is needed to dissolve fat! What am I missing?
My husband reacts to tripollar amazingly. His jaw line was very loose, he used tripollar 3 times the result is instant. The next day after the treatment, I noticed the jaw line to be much tighter. I like it personally, it didn’t do too much for my smile line yet. But regarding the jawline lifting is amazing result.
s it true that the collagen tightening produced from HIFU and RF is 'disorganised collagen' - effectively scar tissue? It was claimed by a surgeon that the denatured collagen doesn't form regular, orderly collagen and instead meshes together in this disorganised manner. It was also claimed that this scar tissue then makes it difficult for any future surgeries. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
I had Sylfirm X and was lied to by the RN that did the procedure on me. She specifically told me it doesn’t melt fat. Ended up disfiguring my face. It’s been nine months and my life is forever changed.
I have followed a few pages that use different types of home devices. RF, Sonic Ultrasound, Light therapy, micro current, etc. Honestly, I've seen some, where their faces have aged drastically in short periods of time. It seems there is overuse and incorrect use. Once a week at a minimum~ to twice a month. Facial massage "light massage" using hands or guasha tool is an excellent choice. Alternating between different types of devices on a weekly basis, with only a five minute MAX time frame~ when utilizing at home devices. Be aware~ even over use of at home products can change the integrity of your skin and fat layers, as well. Facial yoga and guasha massage reposition fat and assist in lymphatic drainage. Over washing the skin, too and using harsh products can also cause inflammation and destroy the protective layer of the skin, which assist in retaining moisture. I have been involved in the Beauty/Health industry for many years. I plan on launching a page to assist women in natural care of hair, skin and health where practical advice positive advice can be given. Most women, wait until there skin is drastically aging or damaged. Though, good news.. Skin can be renewed without drastic measures and spending thousands of dollars. My IG Enchantedrosemagick. I will have details there in the future for anyone looking for natural alternatives to Beauty.
Thanks for the information. I have ptosis and I plan on buying the Tripollar Stop Eye RF device. I'll definitely underdo it a little and check for any problems. I think a few before pictures and weekly pictures might help me catch a problem before its too late.
These "procedures" are carried out by estheticians in my state. To put it in perspective, that is 5-8 months of training to get an esthetician license plus a few day’s training on each machine - training sponsored by the manufacturer. I’ve never once encountered a dermatologist in these spa settings or offices. They are a means of passive income for dermatologists, - the risk is passed to the patient.
I'm sorry your state appears to be lacking in training for estheticians. That isn't true for every state or country. Many estheticians are highly trained. Some are nurse estheticians as well. Just putting into perspective for people in other areas.
This is why you go to a medi spa where procedures are done under the training and supervision of a medical doctor. Never trust that the legal minimum training is sufficient for procedures that can cause permanent damage.
I had HIFU done on my double chin, since i had done kybella twice, and left my double chin saggy... and then i had HiFU done on my face and I regret it so much. Now I have thin skin, mild open pores and I didnt even need it!! I did it cuz the esthetician said it would thighten my skin and make me look younger😢😢😢. But I see a tremendous difference and luckly I had it done ince on my face. Twice on my double chin. And when i asked her if it was going to melt my face she said yes a little but for the better....😭😭😭😭😭 and is not true.. it is not for the better. I wish I could turn back time and never had that done!
Thank goodness I've had an excellent result from a full treatment (3 sessions 4 weeks apart) of microneedling with RF - using EndyMed at a clinic run by NHS doctors and nurses (in the UK). I'm 51.It significantly tightened my neck and jawline, and made a massive difference on my upper and lower lids. My naturally full cheeks are intact. I know that the machine is programmed to alter the length of the needles for each section of my face and it doesn't go anywhere near as deep as the Morpheus. I'm also on HRT. Just wanted to weigh in with my experience.
@@ummtaimann6819 EndyMed has special treatments specifically for these areas, all of the manufacturers seem to. All I can say is that it worked extremely well for me, far beyond any expectation I had, especially at 51. And at the clinic I go to they test every device on themselves several times before offering them to the public. If something isn't effective or isn't safe they won't use it, as they're all NHS doctors and nurses.
Happy Wednesday! Have a great day! The video you reference about the changes in bone and skin was one of the best videos. I frequently go back to that one. My eyelids are starting to droop and I now understand why and not so hard on my in my 40’s self. Thank you! Have a fabulous day! 💙💙💙
@@alyshal417 80 percent of the damage is from sunlight and not looking after the skin. 20 percent is from actual aging. I heard when you reach 55, you face and body will droop even more. It's possible to have less wrinkles, but the shape of your face change's because of fat lost and gravity. If you do skincare, you still look much younger than most 55 year olds, so it still makes a difference. Obviously healthy food and exercise, makes a difference too
@Fearless. Hi fearless, I was hoping that at age 64 that it isn't too late to start skincare. My face shape has already changed, it looks like a peanut. I have eye bags. I lost weight due to illness too fast from not eating or drinking. I hop I can improve some. After reading the comments here, I think it is too risky to use radiofrequency at home device, even tripollar stop. I have only looked after my skin sporadically, so I guess I am paying the price. Since you say a lot of the damage is from lack of skincare, do I have a chance if I start at this late stage?
I bought a SUNMAY VSkin RF EMS device, used the EMS once and RF once on the low setting, and now i have lost so much fat in the face, ruined my face and aged overnight. I know itst the device, because i have some dents on face as well from the things. I followed instructions, used the lowest settings. I bought it off amazon, and when i tried to post review, amazon did not allow it. Cant contact manufactuer. Spoke to plastic surgeon, they said i lost lots of fat. I didnt lose weight. Problem with amazon, once they have 1 or two bad reviews they dont allow more. Reviews are just mainuplated.
I have used a radio frequency home device, I was scared to use it on my face bud I did use it on my lovehandles and I was amazed of the results, my waist got smaller and more curved shape I’m so happy with the results
Thank you Dr Dray even though I naturally have chubby cheeks and use to get pinched non stop being a toddler but best to be safe than sorry. Also you seem to be getting more and more stunning so I will have to check out what other skin recommdentions you point to
I find it annoying that many so called skin experts who promoted these products and cosmetic procedures originally , now turn around and criticise them and warn us against them … once the damage is done , think we should just ignore all the hype on any new product
Your videos are so informative. I have an NRGY device from Truth Treatments that I’ve been using for several years. This makes me want to just quit using anything but red light therapy. I would love for you to do a video on Stemfactors/Growth factors. Are they really worth the money and do they help with aging? Thank you for doing all the work for us.
Yes! I bought one last year of Amazon, and used for a month… my cheeks started to go saggy and I could feel fat lose. I think I caught it in time, I’ve been doing facial yoga face tapping and it’s plumped them a bit but my cheeks are so much more hollow now because of the device I bought.
Please also address that Led light therapy masks do the same thing. They take away your good fat (volume) in your face. Thats what it did to me and I would never touch that thing on my face again. It ruined the shape of my face. I cry now every time I look at pictures of how beautiful my face looked before I tried any red light therapy. These devices are not for everyone. They're marketed to profit, and Im not sure if enough independent studies are done before they launch these to the market.
I received RF device: Vivace at Radiance Med Spa in Clearwater, Florida. My face is now ruined and I need a facelift and fat transfers to try and mitigate the destruction of fat in my face. I looked ten years younger than my real age before I did this procedure three times. They denied all responsibility.
I am so sorry. I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me. I can see the horror in friends faces when they see me for the first time since I had RF. I went from being hit on constantly by men in their 20’s to being hit on by men in their 60’s. The mental anguish of aging so suddenly has been devastating.
Like someone else already said, I have had Endymed Microneedling with RF. I have always been quite skinny with a slim face but after my 1st pregnancy, about 1 year after giving birth when I paid attention to my self in the mirror I was shocked with how drawn and skinny my face had become. My under eye area especially was hollow, it looked a bit like a completely different person's. I was 31 at the time. My pregnancy weight dropped very quickly due to newborn year but also going through other stresses at the time and perhaps that was the cause for my face to look that way. I was forced to go for a little bit of under eye filler. Then add 3 more years and second pregnancy/a year postpartum left my skin looking droopy at only 34 years old. The only thing that hasn't changed was my cheek structure - they were always prominent but not through fat but bone structure, however prominent bone structure in the cheek area and the ultra skinnines of my face, started to look unwell, sickly. All I had was sticky out cheek bones. What shocked me then was the visible sagginess of the skin around my jaw (middle jaw part and side of the lips). I went for a Hifu session and Endymed last year and after each skin tightening my face was getting its actual shape and tightness back. It literally looked pulled back. So all in all, in my case it was definitely worth it. I think it's always good to assess individually but also make sure you find a reputable place with responsible specialists and excellent devices. And each one of us is entirely different. The changes I started noticing hit me very fast and unexpectedly and I wasn't ready for them so even if I did have any additional fat loss caused, it wouldn't have been noticeable as my face was already sulken and looked unhealthily skinny and drawn. Thank you for the review though its always so eye opening.
Interesting!! I'm thinking of getting hifu for a bit of tightening. Do you remember what settings they used? Were they targetting the upper dermis of the smas layer?? Thanks
@@JinNoctis yes but I mentioned everything I had as I can't pinpoint to one single treatment when it comes to my result - Endymed and Hifu as well as microneedling. Not once did I say hifu and radio-frequency as one and same thing.
I don't know about fat loss but I had a different negative effect from RF. I got Facetite and it ended up causing a big burn mark right on my cheek next to my nose that's now a deep pitted scar. It's so noticable on my face because I've never had any kind of pitted scar marks before. I'm pretty upset about it even moreso because the Facetite gave me 0 results. All that money just to look worse than before.
I hope your provider paid you appropriately. (Not that there’s a price for scarring you.) I’m so sorry this happened. I’ve wanted to try Facetight but I’ve been too uneasy
@@alised4056 Thanks for the kind words! Nope, they suggested I do RF microneedling as it would help tighten my cheeks that was my original goal with the Facetite as well as the scar. They also put a little drop off filler in the pits for free so I guess that's something lol. The RF microneedling didn't do much, but to be fair I only did the one session then never went back. But the Facetite was back in August, so the pitted scars have gradually gotten a little better with time and retinal. I didn't mean to scare you off Facetite if you really want it, I think I've just had bad luck with RF in general. I searched online to see if anyone else got burn scars like me from Facetite and could find maybe 1 person at most but they weren't pitted. So I think maybe I'm an outlier.
I started using RF devices at 38 years with the city’s most famous derm. At that time I was happy with the results. At 44 my friends who didn’t get anything done look at least 5 years younger than me 😢
I had one Morpheus 8 done by an experienced doctor. Swollen for a month, and skin darkening. If you have tan to dark skin BECAREFUL. I had to have two rounds of pico sure laser to get my pigmentation back to baseline.
I had this procedure done too and gave me dark spots. I have brown skin and now trying to lighten it using Azelaic acid, which I haven’t seen results yet. I am afraid to try other procedures, I will check on picosure.
I'm using Hifu home device (also fat loss risk) on my lower face, jawline and under chin. My goal is to burn some extra fat in that area while also tightening the area to slim that b***h down and work on my first signs of jowling, and so far it is working quite well 😄 I'm using it on my jawline area with full power. Every other time I treat my whole face too but only very short time and with low intensity setting. So far I look visibly better than when started, and if I've lost volume overall in face (other than jowl and jawline area) it is basically unnoticeable and the pros beat the cons for me.
@@crystalwhite8706 I use it once a week which is a lot and only recommended for a period of 6-8 weeks, and then afterwards will maintain with longer gaps. I also worked up the intensity to how I am using it now, didn't start that way. I monitored the results each time for a week to make sure no bad reactions happen before I raised intensity again in the next session
@@jennj305 Mini Hifu 2.0, I got it for less than 50 bucks on aliexpress. Some people have reported receiving fake ones from Ali (not real Hifu), mine is real tho so I got lucky. I guess it is around 100 bucks from more reputable sellers. Just a tip for anyone wanting to do home HiFu. Start with low setting and work your way up in the intesity per treatment. Monitor the results for any possible negative sides and don't overdo in either treatment time or how often you use it. For me it caused bad headache couple of first times but that didn't repeat after that, even though I raised the intensity way higher later. When using it don't let it stay on one spot, always keep it moving.
Morpheus hollowed out my under eyes. I have never had bags or discoloration no matter how tired hung over etc. I got 1 treatment done looked horrible for 3 months only to start having purple hue under my eyes because of inadvertent fat loss that will never go back to normal. I have read doctors saying “you happen to be aging at the same time “ obviously that’s the case with everyone. I didn’t spring into menopause the second the bruising went away. It may help an actual piece of skin hanging anything outside of that is going to be irreversible and regressive in time. I’m going to demand my balance be put towards prp micro needling or they are going to have hell to pay. I called the office within 3 weeks and said what the hell is under my eyes!?? I got all standard handbook excuses. I got this done in January after ignoring comments on a previous video of Dr D. I’m still left with a indentation ring basically around the orbital bone and might need filler. Buyer beware
I just gave my NEWA RF to my Mom and ordered 2 fresh tubes of the gel for her. I have lupus and NEWA said I shouldn’t use it but of course I had to try. So yeah, they were right 😂 . My Mom is 82 and still very beautiful and we are just looking for something to freshen up her laxity and lines. We will probably do it on the low setting for her. Glad to hear it won’t melt her facial fat. Thank you so much for your deep dive on this 🥰
So True ... Unfortunely, I was told so many times that you can't have facial fat loss from RF? although i have question the RN nurse or technicians at the Medi spa's..that's the main problems.. This should be told to anyone who is going for any RF procedures..as you don't want to ruin your face. I haven't really do much procedures on my face..as I was very hesitate of these RF treatments. I tried Ultheraphy and since i have a chubby face..it didn't seem to much a a different with a little fat loss..but researching everything.. i rather go for cosmetic surgery as it seem more reliable ..although its expensive..i rather save my money.. and i had one procedure done and I was very happy with the results..you only have one face..you have to be so careful..and the way companies promote so many procedures..it sounds like miracle cure for aging.. but its a bust!!!!!
I use RF on my double chin and pre-jowls only 1 every 4-6 weeks and yes, I have lost fat slowly, on the jowls and chin. I only use it in those areas in a higher setting. Never on the upper face. I use the Tripolar a couple times a month for tightening on my cheeks, double chin & neck and I haven't seen any loss with the Tripolar At the end it's usually User Error rather than the device
aaaand this is why i'm extremely careful with choosing my doctors. I just don't play around with this stuff, been loyal to the same clinic for over 10 years and I only go to very very very good medical doctors, laser dermatologists with a lot of experience and who are very bright
Sounds like it would be great for the stomach but risky for the face. I'm 58 and still have a good amount of fat in my face. I think it's what keeps me looking younger so I would never risk this.
Hi Dr. Dray can red light/ near infrared light therapy do the same? Because I'm pretty sure that my face feels and looks flatter after consistent use of my device . I stopped for a year after realizing what was happening. Do I restart but maybe only 1 x a week instead of 5 x a week?
Infrared is more likely than red cause it penetrates deeper. But overall the studies for fat loss are for ppl using it immediately before exercise. So unlikely
Morpheus 8 is very painful, expensive and little to no results. This according to comments on Hot and Flashy's channel video where she had it done on her neck.
@@selectiveoutrage6617 I love Angie’s channel! Yes, I’ve heard Morpheus need’s multiple treatments, so I don’t understand the popularity. I have Profound scheduled next month which (seems) more intense and a single treatment needed. I was impressed at the before/after photos of the nurse in my surgeon’s office. Still, it’s confusing with all these clinical RF machines popping up making outrageous claims, when most have unique mechanisms.
I used tretinoin for a couple decades - 1st for acne then anti aging benefits. Then an aesthetician on RUclips spooked me by saying it thins the skin and reduces fat. I’ve never wanted less fat in my face so I stopped it but going to go back on the prescription tretinoin
It's also highly carcinogenic. The trials were cancelled after 5 years because cancer rates were about twice that than in control group. So the official trials were never finished.
Thanks Dr. Dray, I appreciate you always being so informative. Do you have any opinion or experiences on phototherapy devices that use polarized light (not sure that's the English for it)? Thanks.
Hi Dr Dray, I am worried on my under eye hollow. I don't want to inject filler treatment for tear trough because of safety. Do you have any recommendation on any beauty devices or even products can fit on my case? Looking forward for you reply~
I have a facial device that has RF, heat, and red light therapy. I used it very consistently for about 2 months and it was at that point I took an honest look at my face and I thought I looked worse. Now, I am in my early 70's so I wasn't expecting miracles, but I felt I looked gaunt and then I heard about the fat loss. It is good to know that these at home devices don't cause fat loss, but I seriously have to wonder. I haven't gone back to it, and it has probably been a year. Thinking I might go back to it though after watching this just for the drape under my chin and hope it does zap the fat. One plus is that it causes mild swelling of the face and for several hours after using my face is much plumper but only for about 8 hours. Good for special occasions.
No surprise here. If people are going to jump on every anti aging device like Lemmings, they are going to pay the piper. Give your face a rest. Anyone I know who is a minimalist has the least aged skin. Lasers, RF, acids. Wow! Love your skin and give it a break!

It’s better to keep it simple as all these products can add inflammation and barrier damage, anyway. All you need is a way of washing your face once a day, moisturising/hydration and SPF as the basics. Everything else compliments that, but that’s the foundation.

@@dobcsek It is a trade off. You are likely talking about your overall look..a combination of your body and face. For almost all women, having higher bodyfat does make the face look younger. Girl… that beautiful, deep green is definitely your color!
Oh thank you!

Curious how big full cheeks can suddenly go flat, only when you stop to take a look. You didn't notice while using the device looking in the mirror?
LOL

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sorry that happened to you.

If professional tells you something is wrong its not for their benefit, its for yours 🤗 My friend used it for belly after weight loss and as you can imagine, RF is wonderful for belly as we never lack fat there even after 25yo🙃
So people- RF is amazing but for jaw if someone have fat or stubborn belly or thighs 🙌🏾 but not for most of face

Very interesting observation.. let me know if u have an answer
I was thingking the same thing! 😢
Yes, the radiofrequency treatment should respect the collagen life cycle. It should be done only twice a month (at a 15-day interval). I did it for a year on my inner thighs, using the 15-day interval, and I loved the results. My inner thighs had a 'melted' appearance.

The heat is barely noticeable so I can't see how that could cause fat loss; however, I can't tolerate the RF+DMA mode on my jawline, so I haven't used that.

I first did a low energy treatment, then 2 low/high energy treatments, and finally a low energy treatment most recently.
If we could melt fat by applying tretinoin then it would be very easy to be skinny!

s it true that the collagen tightening produced from HIFU and RF is 'disorganised collagen' - effectively scar tissue? It was claimed by a surgeon that the denatured collagen doesn't form regular, orderly collagen and instead meshes together in this disorganised manner. It was also claimed that this scar tissue then makes it difficult for any future surgeries. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Never trust that the legal minimum training is sufficient for procedures that can cause permanent damage.

and used for a month… my cheeks started to go saggy and I could feel fat lose. I think I caught it in time, I’ve been doing facial yoga face tapping and it’s plumped them a bit but my cheeks are so much more hollow now because of the device I bought.
Aren't home devices not a problem? They don't reach high temps.
What facial yoga ?
@@emilierose-biche Sorry, I didn't have a comment.
Same
She said all the studies have shown this isn't true.
They're marketed to profit, and Im not sure if enough independent studies are done before they launch these to the market.
i posted a video this week on led masks and fat loss
I am so glad I have been too poor to actually do any of these things over the years
I received RF device: Vivace at Radiance Med Spa in Clearwater, Florida. My face is now ruined and I need a facelift and fat transfers to try and mitigate the destruction of fat in my face. I looked ten years younger than my real age before I did this procedure three times. They denied all responsibility.
I never knew it did that until I saw this
I am so sorry.
Eeè
Interesting!! I'm thinking of getting hifu for a bit of tightening. Do you remember what settings they used? Were they targetting the upper dermis of the smas layer?? Thanks
Well HIFU is not radiofrequency.. it works with ultrasound.. a completely different procedure
@@JinNoctis yes but I mentioned everything I had as I can't pinpoint to one single treatment when it comes to my result - Endymed and Hifu as well as microneedling. Not once did I say hifu and radio-frequency as one and same thing.
@@nvb455 I couldn't tell you in detail now sorry
Thank you so much. I was about to buy a RF device
Great information 👍 Making sure one goes to a reputable provider is so important as well as having an experienced professional. 😀
Very true!
(Not that there’s a price for scarring you.)
I’m so sorry this happened.
At 44 my friends who didn’t get anything done look at least 5 years younger than me 😢
Maybe it was COVID stress
Trust me is hot about device go for swimming routine will thigter your skin
@@stealthisit’s constant heat.
@@lynnb4400 according to dr dray 'its guilty by association' shes just paid by companies to say things shes not a real dermatoglist
Besides the skin darkening, did you like the results as far as skin tightening?
I'm using Hifu home device (also fat loss risk) on my lower face, jawline and under chin. My goal is to burn some extra fat in that area while also tightening the area to slim that b***h down and work on my first signs of jowling, and so far it is working quite well 😄 I'm using it on my jawline area with full power. Every other time I treat my whole face too but only very short time and with low intensity setting. So far I look visibly better than when started, and if I've lost volume overall in face (other than jowl and jawline area) it is basically unnoticeable and the pros beat the cons for me.
Hi, how often do you use the device?
@@crystalwhite8706 I use it once a week which is a lot and only recommended for a period of 6-8 weeks, and then afterwards will maintain with longer gaps. I also worked up the intensity to how I am using it now, didn't start that way. I monitored the results each time for a week to make sure no bad reactions happen before I raised intensity again in the next session
Which one are you using?
Which one you are using?
Thank you so much for your deep dive on this 🥰
Just curious, what happens to lupus patients who use RF?
The laxity of the skin only surgery can fit it.
I use the Tripolar a couple times a month for tightening on my cheeks, double chin & neck and I haven't seen any loss with the Tripolar
At the end it's usually User Error rather than the device
Can you share the name of the rf device is melting your jowls. I want one 😂
I've heard this time and time again. I'm happy to hear that you are using the RF on your cheeks.
aaaand this is why i'm extremely careful with choosing my doctors. I just don't play around with this stuff, been loyal to the same clinic for over 10 years and I only go to very very very good medical doctors, laser dermatologists with a lot of experience and who are very bright
Thank you so much for this video !!!!
Informative video. Thank you for thinking to post this
Sounds like it would be great for the stomach but risky for the face.
So unlikely
Dr Dray please help answer this question
At 77 I am using the Dr Gross mask.
I cannot afford to lose any facial fat!
Should I discontinue it?
Red led light is hood for collogen once a week should be fine
I want to know too.
Thank you for this! I've been seeing all the horror stories and have been so curious about what an expert would say.
thanks for watching
Great video. Do SolaWave devices affect facial fat, or do they only affect top/superficial layers of skin?
Yes I’d like to know
Could you explain the differences between Renuvion, Profound, and Morpheus as clinical RF options? That would be a great video!
@@selectiveoutrage6617 it must be a different video, she just posted one saying she had no pain and she is waiting couple months for the results.
I forgot what it is called, but the treatment with your blood mixed with microneedling. Is this good or dangerous?
morpheus 8 is very dangerous. dont do it
Thank you for your good advise
We go to great lengths to experiment on our selves to gain results that are not guaranteed.
That’s why I love the comments section! 😅👆🏻
I used tretinoin for a couple decades - 1st for acne then anti aging benefits. Then an aesthetician on RUclips spooked me by saying it thins the skin and reduces fat. I’ve never wanted less fat in my face so I stopped it but going to go back on the prescription tretinoin
why would you go back on it then
It's the opposite really
@@EliteCitrus Because I don’t think she was right
I believe it did this to me yes. Used about 2 years
It's also highly carcinogenic. The trials were cancelled after 5 years because cancer rates were about twice that than in control group. So the official trials were never finished.
Great research!
You look really pretty this morning! Thank you for this great information! You’re great at educating us! 🥰

Hi, good video... does at home RF hasten the loss of filler? Thanks.
Love, love, love this channel!
@K, check out derma pen. I am looking onto it too
I have a facial device that has RF, heat, and red light therapy.
Which device do you have that caused this?
It’s probably not worth using it again for the temporary plumping effect. The cumulative damage that you noticed from prior use is scary.
No surprise here. If people are going to jump on every anti aging device like Lemmings, they are going to pay the piper. Give your face a rest. Anyone I know who is a minimalist has the least aged skin. Lasers, RF, acids. Wow! Love your skin and give it a break!
What questions should you ask to a provider to determine their experience?
Thank you. Very informative. Do you think CO2 Laser or Fibroblast treatments thins the skin around the eyes?
Happy Wednesday from the pool in Cancun- just taught my companion to make sure to do the ears when you apply sunscreen ❤❤❤
