You look so tired , it will be so gruelling on the body and at 48 and having done the NWC with my son in January I am so inspired by your journey walking Te AraRoa and I definitely want to do it one . Just amazing the amount of ground you guys covered some days . I love my solitude when tramping so walking with others all the time would not be as satisfying for me but you can make lifelong friendships and the memories of a once in a lifetime experience are shared . God bless your every step
Thanks so much for that. Yes, that was a tough day, both physically and mentally. There were days that the terrain made it easy to cover big mileage, but many days on the South Island were short days just because of the elevation gains. I intended to do the whole TA alone, but found hiking with others was really enjoyable. Having said that, there were many days we ended up hiking alone just because of different hiking speeds. A lot of the trail is single track too, so even if you are with someone, you feel alone because you’re not really talking as you focus on staying upright.
Good morning mate. That looked like a well deserved lunch. Those rocks are unforgiving aren't they. Happy trails on your current adventure mate have a blessed day.
I can see very challenging and very dispiriting. But I can also see very invigorating and uplifting. Pushing beyond that which is so testing, yet once passed is so rewarding of mind, spirit, and soul. Watch your condition Kurt. Take care. Noho haumaru.
My morning ritual, wake up, coffee, watch ur video lol. Ur a natural at this video thing. Hey if u have to replace your pack, get a macpac, they are built to last and will repair any breaks for free
Thanks for watching. I used a macpac 30+ litre on the Camino in 2018. The sternum strap failed near the end and they replaced the whole backpack! I just wanted something lighter for the TA.

Ah man, those boulders sure looks like hard work!! I can imagine the body is craving fresh fruit and veggies hey!😊
I was just thinking about that today. We get to town soon and a giant salad is top on my list!

Thanks for that. Yep. I have definitely learnt that good days always follow bad days.
Stag Saddle coming up in a few days! I remember getting salad cravings on my walk
Yeah, my cravings are for healthy stuff too. I don’t know that I’ve ever had that!
Wow, a decent day at the office! Those burgers were well earned by the looks of it.
Absolutely! That was a tough section!!
