I am impressed! I was about to plunk down a lot more$$ for a Vitamix but wow for much less, this Ninja sounds MUCH quieter than the Vitamix and If I purchase a couple year warranty, then it should be an awesome healthy gift for someone special :)

Smoothie was way too thin for my taste. Can I assume it blends just as well with less water?
You assumed correctly....dude has no clue how to make smoothies 😅
Why add so much water?
He is likely showing blending at max capacity. This is my guess rather than a recipe, it's showing what the machine can do.
