That is a damned fine condition car to be blasting. It is in amazing rust free condition and has a thin coat of paint to come off. All one colour with no primer, undercoat or filler. Would be very happy to get one like that in for blasting instead of the hard work rusty, filled and bodged shells that I get in!

maybe you should take a moment and watch the other videos. This blaster cuts through rust and bindi just fine. I've also seen it cut through powder coating with no issue.

I do blasting too. We cover wet,dry and soda blasting. We use various media depending on the job. Only one not covered is chilled iron, does too much damage to hoses, tips etc. Find crushed plastic cleans best when wet blasting.

They work great, we have a cheap version and it's great for weird coating removal.

Soda blasting leaves it rust resistant for some weeks outside and months inside. Simple hose down cleans up site after and very low hazard .

I find this machine great its fast doing indeed to get off all that paint and all that rust off its good to work on the car with clean metal and you know where you start and the repairs can be carried out.

I'm good with the wet blasting. Has some significant benefits over dry media blasting but this car in this video is just a little too pretty. No rusted holes, no body filler, no primer coat, etc. I want to see the blasting on ugly cars, real dogs, the worst of the worst. That's where the real rubber meets the road.

THATS JUST CRAZY many are put off by the old method of using sand which is harsh or electric driils grinders with wire wheels or the messy paint strip makes you want to find an old car and resto it

    What does this process cost?

    • @warrobotstankers9554

It is usually based on the size of the vehicle and how much media and time it takes to complete the job to the customer's satisfaction.

typical advert, well (not) staged, I mean that car is mint and didn't even need blasrting, all it needed was a colour spray or even just a polish, I would really like to see it blast some old rusty farm tractor or truck, lol

This system used GLASS BEAD meaning its only good for paint. This is not a rusty metal system.

What point to clean rust metal with water??? Water + clean metal = rust again, after dry sand blasting, you can't touch with bare hands, because metal get moisture where you touch, after dray blasting you have to paint fast, because metal can get moisture and from the air , and start rust again. SO Where is a POINT to blast whit water??????

    • @warrobotstankers9554

When the car is done being blasted, they spray it with a rust inhibitor that prevents the rust from returning. and ANY body shop worth 2 nickels will have to do more prep work and body work BEFORE going to primer and paint. After all, rare vehicles like this are usually built by folks with plenty of cash on hand.

    • @petrusbenckey

Maybe the bodycar is aluminium so you don't have to be afraid by a return of the rust.

@@warrobotstankers9554 Somepeople say that you can add additive into water to prevent the rust after the wet blast.

Wow I just looked up the price for these dustless blasters for a mobile unit the lowest one you can get is like 44,000 bucks and the highest one is like 90,000 you would have to do a lot of blasting to pay for that

$2-4000 per vehicle? In a summer, if you advertise right and body shops know it would be more cost effective to have this done rather than all the manual labor to achieve the same result, you could theoretically pay for it in full in one summer. Remember, you are achieving in a few hours of one day, what would take a body shop several weeks to accomplish.

You can get a VHT vapor blaster for way less than that for parts etc. Make your own for about $400 with a $200 Harbor Freight sand blasting cabinet (need to seal it for the water).

You guys always talk about perfect technique, when it is clearly better to 'push' rather than 'pull' as if it were a scraper, but almost nobody does it.

wherever it wants. It is not environmentally damaging since the media sits where the water dries up at. After all, they use glass in asphalt and road surfacing.
