@2:13 you say the lightening bolt icon can only be caused by a faulty turbo actuator or a faulty swirl motor. Er, no. I believe there are quite a few other things that can bring that light on, EGR valve problems for example. No mention here of the 4.7k resistor trick that solves the swirl motor problem in 10 minutes for less than sixpence.
Just put a 5k ohm resistance on the connector to the swirl pot leaving them fully open. I used this trick on my 300c crd, saved myself over 700€ and I can honestly say the car runs perfectly smooth and even more responsive. I did not invent the trick but I found it on the net. Bye bye dealer
Good video. There are many other things that can bring on the red thunderbolt icon )z( such as an actual faulty electronic throttle body (I've had two of them fail) and wiring harness chaffing of same.
I'm having the same problem with my CRD Jeep.Unfortunatly you guys are to far from where I live (Norfolk), so I need to take my Jeep to the local Jeep service, and don't know how much they going to charge me.But thanks for the video, very usefull!
did you get the lightening bolt problem fixed? i have a dodge caliber and it is coming on and the car wont go 5-10mph mechanics are useless so i am looking myself
Day 3 of buying 2009 Jeep commander it broke down with this issue. Got it back a week later to have it break down with the same light again... I've actually sent the mechanic this video in hopes this helps them fix it now
Excellent video. I'm a keen diy mechanic and have this problem exactly as described. Could you tell me if the turbo itself has to be removed to gain access and removal of my defective swirl pot motor please? Best wishes. Tim
hello there, My Jeep Patriot started shaking, became loud. the thunder bolt is flashing. the codes that came up are u1407, u1425, u1427, c1011. any ideas??
@@jdmurfreesboro2738 Yes I did. The throttle body was broken somehow, probably inside because I manually cycled it with my fingers which is a big no no. I found one at a junkyard and replaced it and everything perfect again. Or you gotta buy a new one.
