Along with the Coyotes' equally underapppreciated "kachina" jersey it is destined to be a classic. BTW, pleased to say the Flyers took my advice and changed the color of their jerseys from a pumpkinlike orange to a deeper, more aesthetically pleasing reddish-orange: hockey's co-best along with the Blackhawks.
Fun fact about the jersey your wearing…my high school team got really good when I went there, but our jerseys were shit. We needed new ones, so our coach bought a bunch of those jerseys (in white) for us to wear. He had to track down a good many of them and overpay but it was so cool when he told us. That year we went all the way to the State Finals, but lost.

I agree about the Carolina Hurricanes jersey, the one they wore at last years stadium series game. On a side note: that varsity jacket Coach Brind’Amour was wearing during that game was 🔥
The first professional hockey game I went to was a Chicago Cougars, and then I went to a couple more before I finally went to a Hawks game. Preferred the Cougars as a youngin, so thanks for wearing that BEAUTIFUL Cougars jersey.
I never even watched a Cougars' game on TV; just saw pictures in The Hockey News and Hockey Illustrated. I remember that '72 Summit Series Dman Pat Stapleton ( who apparently made off with Henderson's winning puck ) was the team's prominent signing.
Oddly enough.... this might very well be heresy... but I think the barberpole woth current Canadien logo might actually work. Still and eyesore sure but kinda cool throw back.

I quite like the Minnesota jersey. Those shades of green and red go well together, and it's a lot less "Princeton-y" than the Chicago and Detroit jerseys. The elbow patches are cool.
I do have that Avs stadium jersey because I got it on sale, but the design does make sense. The game was played vs the kings in colorado springs at the airforce academy. The design of the A reflects the unique architecture of Cadet Chapel at the airforce academy. Does it look great? no, but i definitely have a soft spot for ugly sweaters. And because it it was played at the airforce academy, LA went with the chrome dome helmets and jersey design based on the P51 Mustang, which was manufactured in LA near where the kings offices are.
I'm not kidding when I say the one of the happiest days of my life was when I was able to get a legit storm jersey. Always used to pick it in my old nhl games and was in awe of its design
Something just dawned on me at 5:35. I’m 70. Been a hockey fan since 1968. The plain CHICAGO jersey and the plain PWHL jerseys with only the city name in block letters reminds me of the tabletop rod hockey game I had as a kid. It was a Munro brand game and the flat metal players wore the proper colors of the teams, but not the logo. My set had Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, and New York. Just the city names, no logos. (Maybe was a copyright issue?). I had a nicer, larger Coleco brand version a couple years later where the players had the proper, authentic logos. Had Blues & Red Wings on that game.
When Shannon said "it's a size 50, so it's a little big on me" my eyes bolted to the screen. I wear 50s and 52s, I didn't think Shannon was smaller than me
The Calgary jersey is special to me and my dad. Both of us got the Sam Bennett jersey and he scored 4 goals at the game we just happened to be at. They only make it for one or two years as well so they are limited
My cat watches TV but i never seen him react to a cat in the background like he has to this….he is even trying to look under and around the jerseys to see your cat…lol.
The Caps main jersey takes so much heat that I think it’s starting to build a great legacy. To me, the uniqueness is why I love it. The logo comes off as a “signature” like symbol, and honestly when we all put them on for games, it feels like your stepping into a different mindset when your with a group of people all wearing them. They buy em up like crazy still here in D.C. I hope they keep it going. I don’t want to “fit in” with all the “normal” hockey jerseys

Chicago Cougars WHA the white version of the one you have was my first jersey... definitely would not consider it ugly... The one to the left WHA Cleveland Crusaders my icon is probably my favorite.
As a San Francisco Giants fan, maybe it's my bias for the orange and black color scheme, but the Flyers stadium series looks pretty clean in my opinion
How many jerseys does THG have? Thats awesome to see the collection behind him. I think I heard that people send in jerseys which is cool that this whole community has sprung up. Great stuff!
As a Canes fan, I really love it, and own one. But the Canes don't have a lot of bad jerseys to use- my pick would be that gray RR Whalers jersey from a few years ago. That was awful and looked even worse on TV. The most hated jerseys in our history were the red ones from 2013, which were just shockingly plain and generic. Not really ugly, they just scrubbed any and all unique team identity from them. But when that's the worst mistake you've made with your jerseys, you're doing okay.
@@cptjeff1 as a canes fan by far the ugliest jersey is the one with the single flag in the middle of the jersey with the dark grey stripes squares on the bottom.
The Chicago Cougars surprised even their own ownership by making the WHA Avco Cup finals in the second year of the league because they had rented out their arena months before the series was held for the dates scheduled for the finals and it was unavailable, so they ended up playing in a rink at a shopping mall that had even fewer seats than the Coyotes' present home. The NHL made a big joke about this, showing what a minor league the WHA was, but a couple of years later when the Black Hawks played the Islanders in the 2-out-of-3 Preliminary Round series, the date when the Hawks home game was to take place, the Chicago Stadium had been rented out for a Led Zeppelin concert. They couldn't change the date of the game, so it had to be played on Long Island. Of course the Islanders swept the 2 games and the Hawks never got a home game in that playoff season.
Wheres the Thrashers basketball Jersey. I always hated that Jersey and thats coming from a Thrashers fan. I love all of our other Thrashers Jerseys though. Especially the T Bird Jersey. I hope we come back to the league soon.
The light blue Atlanta one with the stripe down just one sleeve is it for me. They deserved to be run out of the league for that alone. Then the Flames "pedestal" one is next. Looks like it was made by a drunken seamstress.
I like parts of it, but THG hit what I don't like about it, it's just so yellow. And the yellow feels a little 'off', although if it was even more mustard yellow, it'd likely be worse. Prior to this though, I think the fan consensus (such as it was) for ugliest was the '90s jersey with the angled stripes near the bottom, although for me that's a "yeah, it's ugly, but in a fun way" :P
@@matthewryan9323Blues fan since 1968. I can’t stand the yellow reverse retro which uses the prototype design from 1967. The single musical note is kinda “OK” but doesn’t simulate SPEED like the actual Blue Note does. Also there are way too many words on the front in way too big a font. We went through a decline in jersey style in the 1980’s. The one with “BLUES” in big letters with a small Blue Note was crappy. After they eliminated the big BLUES word they added a small “St. Louis” to the top of the Blue Note. It was just a plain block font and always looked like a stuck-on afterthought to me. Also in that era, they rounded the tips of the wing, made the Blue Note fatter, and added red contrast piping. Red, blue, and yellow (gold) just don’t go together to me. And the rounded wing tips and the fatter Blue Note made the logo look “slower”. Then in the ‘90’s we copied Anaheim’s diagonal striping and large swath of contrasting color on the bottom. I hated those, especially the road blue with the big red diagonal patch on the bottom. I love the current design. I prefer it over the original ‘60’s & ‘70’s design because of the two shades of blue. While I still like the original with the single lighter shade of blue, the current one really pops. I also like the change from yellow to white numbers on the home blue jersey. Easier to see and just looks a wee bit better to me. The ONLY change I’d make to the current jersey is that I’d try one with the original 1968 Blue Note shape. That Blue Note was thinner with sharper wing tips and I think gave more of a sense of motion to the logo. I’d have to see it, however, to determine if it is really better or not. Anyway, as a 70 year old, lifelong Blues fan, that’s my take! It’s fun talking about all the jersey changes over the years. But I think it is very hard to improve on what they have right now!
I like the NJ Jersey. It reminds me of an album Public Image Ltd came out with in the 80s called Album, but that's only if you bought it on vinyl -- if you on cassette, it was called Cassette (also, if you had it on CD it was called Compact Disc).
Jersey Jersey, reminds me of “Key Retailing” where you need a sign for everything in your backroom “sink” above the sink,”towels” above towels, like we are all slow in the head!
Pittsburgh fan here. I love seeing what others think of Pittsburgh jerseys. The yellow I actually really like but would never want it to be a main jersey again. A random throwback every now and then. For me, and many other people I know here it's the vegas gold era of jerseys. When they went away from the black and yellow/gold and went to the true vegas/puke gold... it did not sit well with many. I found it to be extremely bland and lacked any pop. Hope we never see that color again on Pens jerseys haha.
I can agree with that. I kinda forgot about those jerseys. I hated the Vegas gold. If I remembered that I would've went with that. My least favorite outside of all the Vegas gold jerseys was the 3rd Jersey from 1995, I hated it then and I hated when it became the Away Jersey.
Man, I'm with you on the Mooterus, I'd bring it back to replace the current blackout jerseys, I absolutely hate the blackout jerseys for the Stars, I just can't get into it.
Your Chicago Cougars jersey reminded me of the one game I went to involving the Long Island Cougars of the NAHL. The NAHL was formed from the prior EHL, as that was the way to kick Al Baron, owner of the Long Island Ducks, out of the league. The Cougars were playing the Johnstown Jets featuring the Carlson Brothers (the Hansen Brothers from the movie Slap Shot.) This was the year before Slap Shot was released. I was so surprised to see these guys in the movie when I had actually watched them play I real life.
The "Pooh Bear" for the Bruins on the white jersey works. It does not work on the yellow jersey. I love the Bruins reverse retro 2.0 so much it became my first NHL jersey.
20:26 I live in Seattle now. I have a home jersey. Didn't get the WC because I couldn't get it in stitched numbers in one of the players I wanted. But yes, a third with the anchor logo would be my wife's 1st Seattle jersey. She much prefers that logo to the S logo.
As a Hurricanes fan, I have to agree with that choice. The Stadium Series game was such a cool event but the special jerseys for it really seemed like an afterthought. Funny because we also had the 25 year anniversary jerseys last year and those were gorgeous, I had to get one.
Shannon I love the hawks jersey you mentioned with no logo, same reason i loev the ottawa senators barber pole red, white and black jersey. It's a claissic old school football kind of jerseys
The best jerseys are the simple ones. Kind of like goalie mask paint schemes. When the artwork gets too intricate it doesn't look good. Boston Bruins "B", Edmonton Oilers, Atlanta Flames and Minnesota North Stars are examples of beautiful jerseys.

I agree.
That Arizona jersey had nice colour. That Oiler jersey is solid definitely better than there retro one.
That Carolina jersey is kinda cool
20:06 I’m so glad I’m a kraken fan because of how good our jerseys are. I agree with you that that ones our ugliest but I love that one
100% agree with you on a Seattle secondary logo jersey
The Canucks 70's- 80's Inter Gallactic Crossing Guard looking things actually take the cake.
There's no way that's the ugliest Calgary Jersey. The horse head is by far the ugliest.
Vancouver's 'V' home jersey easily the ugliest of all time.
No no no
Send in the clowns 🤡🤡🤡
The yellow of Arizona and the mess of the Ducks is worse. Wouldn’t wear either even if it was free
The light blue Atlanta one with the stripe down just one sleeve is it for me. They deserved to be run out of the league for that alone. Then the Flames "pedestal" one is next. Looks like it was made by a drunken seamstress.
I lived in Vancouver in the early 80s, that was the ugliest jersey, the team was bad too..
As a Blues fan I personally love the yellow reverse retro. I think it was a nice change from their first reverse retro and past alternate jerseys
San Jose’s current Jerseys are absolutely the best they’ve had (since the originals at least) absolutely beautiful
I’m surprised yoo didnt go for the pyjama jersey from 07-08 for the oil, its great to be honest, that 07 design is one of my favs
That Carolina jersey should be called the Sprockets Jersey. It looks like something you'd wear to a Kraftwerk show.
I love watching your cat in the background ♥️
Shannon I love the hawks jersey you mentioned with no logo, same reason i loev the ottawa senators barber pole red, white and black jersey. It's a claissic old school football kind of jerseys
Buffa Slug was always one of my favorites as a kid
Yeah, that one is kind of pretty
The best jerseys are the simple ones. Kind of like goalie mask paint schemes. When the artwork gets too intricate it doesn't look good. Boston Bruins "B", Edmonton Oilers, Atlanta Flames and Minnesota North Stars are examples of beautiful jerseys.
4:32 as an oilers fan, I kinda like the blasty jersey
