Question : when you shut the rig off, do you keep the emergency lights on, so that when you start the rig, all the lights come on right away ? We do, and I find it great !!
@@RyanSOlsen thanks Ryan. Stay low and let it blow !! OH one other thing...our Rescue Squads have boxes on the back, that's where we sit and our gear is back there. When we get a run in the middle of the night, and it's not too close, our driver leaves the interior lights off so we can sleep a bit longer, and if the 1st engine arrives and reports a working fire, he puts the lights on, waking us up and then we get dressed. You ?
Got it. I started there too. Totally different world eh. I wish vollies were treated the same by everyone. It really gets me when the associations don't. A fire is a fire, whether you're sleeping at the hall or sleeping at home !! And you say volunteer, so that means you don't get one penny, right ? We were Paid On-Call. Meaning : we got paid for EVERYTHING we did, whether that be a fire, medical, Fire prevention Week, Parades, etc. How do you work it when you decide who drives ? We went with whoever got to the hall 1st. Well, I lived 1.5 blocks away from the hall, so guess who !!
Sweet catches!!
Thank you!

It varies by Department. In my Department, we do as well.

I am on a small Volunteer Department. So, when we get paged out, we head to the Station.
