Dunno if you guys cares but if you are bored like me atm you can watch all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last months :)
I supported a young boy very much like Andy (age, interests and a resemblance) ... unfortunately he moved on from where i worked but its so good to watch your videos and Andy. You are a great father figure for Andy.... melts my heart!!!
Hey Kevin, I've recently found out about your channel and have watched a couple of you videos and i just want you to know it gets easier. I'm 15 and have autism i was just like your son and as life progresses it gets easier.
It's great that Andy did so well with the dietitian. I find it interesting how it would be a neurotyical child's dream to be allowed eat as much chocolate as they want yet for Andy, (and a lot of other Autistic people) he needs encouragement to be able to do that
Its actually hard im pretty skinny too and they said to drink Milkshakes daily but I ended up not being able to do it.I ended up just drinking alot of milk and chocolate milk.Kids are like awe your so lucky and im like in my head I have too eat 2 times more than you guys and eat alot of stuff and snack. (its not like I do that alot) I actually love using skinny jokes when I got with a team I have an excuse to get an extra large Milk Shake. But its really hard for me and I dont get embarressed for being at thepool by myself but when im with my "friends" I usually have a swim shirt on.
You are amazing. You and Anna really have goals in mind for him. As for food- he likes crunchy textures. So try making really crispy chips, crispy Yorkshire pudding, the end parts of brownies (you can add his protein powder to the mix) the skin on fried chicken... anything like that. Really crispy bacon even.
Won't do him much good if he pukes it up will it? That was some impressive willingness ! If something makes me gag I'm not reading it period. My son is also very food picky (autistic) if something makes him gag I'll never get it down him again. There is no game he wants enough in the world. After watching for the last year I don't know if you guys see him amazing that was. It's hard to see from inside but you guys have made amazing progress. You guys are great parents, fighting for him, making the changes to help him and trusting your instincts as parents to know what he needs. Watching his progress gives me and probably others hope for the future of our children.thank you for sharing your lives
I have a little bit of autism and I am controlling it very well but I just want to say a massive well done to Andy he has come so far and progressed really well within the autism and how he controls it well done Andy
👍🏼🌟I so enjoy watching the vlogs. Him putting on weight is fabulous news!!! Andy is so sweet and so incredibly brave!! Thank goodness for any and all motivating things that help along the way! You are all totally awesome for all the efforts to achieve progress. My son with ASD does eat, though he doesn't particularly like to chew, go figure... so dry lumpy food is difficult. I persist with the lumps, so if the texture is right it goes down. He still at 4 & 1/2, only drinks goats milk formula from a baby bottle. It's gonna rock our socks off tackling that one. At one preschool despite requests, they during summer for the day, would only offer him water from a cup. This didn't work, except to dehydrate him. I have brought so many different cups and bottles... I know one day the stars will align and we will have a magical cup and any kind of beverage party. As he is going to school in the near future... interesting times. Many Blessings from NZ 💜🌈⭐️
Fantastic! You guys are brilliant with Andy! Have you thought of a straw? The little red milk ones (like at school) ☺️It might help with the wretching...
Kevin Chapman was also thinking about the crisp problem... have you seen the little reseal machines, you could use old crisps bags that Andy likes, just need to pour the crisp from new bag to old and seal the bag again looks just like new 😄
You were in Stratford today? Where abouts, I was there too! Also really happy to hear the good news about Andy and to see him drinking some milk, all great progress :)
I’m not like having a go at you or anything. But I’m just slightly curious if anyone else thought it was wrong that when Andy said “stop recording” Kevin continued.
Would he maybe like a sippy type cup some have the silicone spouts? That might be nice as far as the chewy spout to get him interested? just a thought 😊
lily gills yes I also watch the vlogs 😊 he clearly stated it was a baby bottle, sippy type cups are a bit different, if you need to google them they are quite handy.
As sippy cups are meant for children with teeth they are a bit more durable and my lil guy chews them a bit with no issue and amazon is easy to order new tips if need... hope that helps
A bottle that would be wonderful to try is the nalgene water bottle. You can find it on amazon. Hopefully your son will like and will start drinking chocolate milk. My son has autism and he loves it. Also it’s a good size for when hopefully you can start making what I like to call special bottles. Half chocolate milk of choice, Vega protien and Greek yougert. I know every child with autism is different from one another. ❤️
Do you know if he gags because he expects to not like it or because he really can't stand the taste? It's really cool seeing him try new foods, and I even root for him as I watch the videos lol
I don't think it's to do with taste. I think it's a reaction to doing something he doesn't want to do. He likes a lot of different foods, but refuses to eat them and then randomly comes back round to them - as far as he's concerned, there's no reason to eat anything other than his absolute favourite things.
Hey, I’m Tom. I have an autistic Cousin very similar to Andy what I find is useful is not to say any plans that involve Sofia in front of her because she will get her mind set on that one thing and will go crazy if it turns out not to be true. Aswell as not talking about things that she needs to do when she is there because she tends not to be interested in doing them, whereas if we talk about it in the moment she will be less disobedient about the matter. I understand that Andy may be different, but I just thought it may be useful in the future! 🙂
I’m guessing you’ve already tried a protein powder mixed in something more tolerable, less milky? It’s a texture issue I assume? Also were the copyright notices from games he was playing or movies/tv? I hadn’t even thought of that when doing my videos. Is respite there always a drop off situation? I’m just curious. Here In Arizona a provider comes to your home so you can leave, no dropping them off anywhere.
That's one option for respite here, but we prefer the residential weekend once a month rather than a certain number of hours in the home each week. And yeah, it was a game soundtrack that got flagged.
Great job Andy on drinking that giraffe milk When you said some about his independence it got me a bit worry about if he can be trusted on this own or do any kind of independence Little advice on how to get him to do independence. Helping clean the house a bit like hovering, washing dishes that kind of stuff just once a week 👍
By independence we mean transitioning towards some kind of assisted living arrangement outside of our home. I doubt he'll ever be truly independent, but it's important that he grows to not rely solely on us, because we won't always be around.
If you want Andy to begin eating milk chocolate, I would definitely recommend something called Cadbury’s dairy milk little bars. I would say that they are the same thickness as an Easter egg and they snap the same as what an Easter egg would. You can buy them from supermarkets either single or in multipacks. They’re also quite cheap and I used to love them when I was younger. Hope this helps! Absolutely love your videos btw ❤️
Kevin Chapman ahhh I see ❤️ Maybe just Cadbury chocolate buttons or something then ❤️ They may be good ❤️ I bet you have probably tried those too 😂👏🏼❤️
Kev I'll ask my partner and her mum what the process was for them when my partner's brother turned 18; they had to transition social worker/care system and it seemed to go okay. I'll comment somewhere with my findings :P
Where do you get the chewy for Andy? I like chewing things I don't have austism I have cerebral palsy though. And I chew on straws but they could cut my mouth
why dont u get alot of diffrent vitiams, minerals, protien, calories, carbs and other things he needs in pill for and crush it up and put it in his drink or food ?
he use to eat custard which they had a powder they would mix in it that had all those things but by the sounds of it now has decided he doesn't want to eat custard and thats why they are trying to get him to drink milk because it can be mixed into his milk. He drinks mostly soda and atm potato waffles.
Kevin Chapman ok I can give u ideas of stuff to introduce and and tips to introduce them if he ate rice crispy I would try to introduce a chocolate chip granola bar. Also pudding is a good one. Key to introducing is give it to him ask him to open it let him touch it even if he doesn’t eat it at least he has felt it do that for a couple days then try a reward if he would try it make sure u tell him what’s in it NOT EVERYTHING that might scare him and little white lies are ok if u have to tell him that it’s the same type of chocolate that he likes in it that’s good and this one might be hard but a spoon full of peanut butter would be great to introduce also hope I can help I have done that to a friend of mine zan who is autistic and some tricks have helped him.
Make his milk flavoured milk like chocolate or strawberry or banana Cos it will taste different but still gets all his needed nutrients just an idea hope you see this message and hope if u do try it does work 😊 I he has not already got used to it that is
Kev I got you the twitter pillow it wouldn’t let me put a note
Cj plays And talks toon cool
Thanks very much, it's awesome!
See Andy try chocolate milk
Dunno if you guys cares but if you are bored like me atm you can watch all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last months :)
@Declan Clyde Yea, I have been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself :)
I supported a young boy very much like Andy (age, interests and a resemblance) ... unfortunately he moved on from where i worked but its so good to watch your videos and Andy. You are a great father figure for Andy.... melts my heart!!!
Awww always love seeing Andy and Anna doing some cuddles :)

Don’t worry about the gagging, I always do it when it comes to shots!!!
Well done guys.
Keep up with the good work 💪🏻
Wow Andy way to go!! All around he is just taking things in stride so well! Just amazing how fast he has come.
Well done Andy! He is definitely doing better than he was a year ago!
Good job andy! I love how with even the slightest bit of reassurance, he manages to get stuff done that he doesn't want to do!
You must all be so pleased with the progress he has made over the last few months.
I'm so proud of him for drinking the milk, it's been amazing to see how much he is developing throughout these vlogs :)
is it weird that I audibly ‘aww’ed’ When you said ‘there’s no reason not to adopt him’
Won't do him much good if he pukes it up will it? That was some impressive willingness ! If something makes me gag I'm not reading it period. My son is also very food picky (autistic) if something makes him gag I'll never get it down him again. There is no game he wants enough in the world. I can’t get enough of Andy’s self encouragement .....he’s the best ❤️
I have a little bit of autism and I am controlling it very well but I just want to say a massive well done to Andy he has come so far and progressed really well within the autism and how he controls it well done Andy
Andy is such an inspiration ❤️
Have you tried kinder surprise eggs, they are egg shaped , thin and have milk
that sounds like a pretty good idea.
That's a good shout, I'll get some over the weekend
Bless his heart so hard to watch but you no it’s best for him. My girls are very fussy to! Well done Andy! Good boy x
Well done Andy! And the rest of the family!
LOVE getting notifications for your videos! hope all is well Kev!

Asta Osborne good luck! You can do this so can your son
Fantastic Andy!!! You’re brilliant!
Way to stick with it Anna and Kevin.
Omg Andy is no joke a really good singer
Well done Andy you did amazing! I would not have done so well myself, your a total star🌟
Andy is acc making progress!!! you can do it Andy 💪🏻💙💯
Sara Mahmood Iiiii
So proud of Andy!! ❤️
he did so well
Fantastic! You guys are brilliant with Andy! Have you thought of a straw? The little red milk ones (like at school) ☺️It might help with the wretching...
He's usually not a fan of using a straw
That's so awesome my son is extremely picky eater he will only eat 4 foods at this moment this gives me so much hope
That “giraffe milk” is honestly the best. Can’t stand normal soya milk, but it tastes kinda like vanilla (apparently also like baby formula?!)
I adore Andy what a beautiful boy and such a great personality he has a great sense of humour 💯💞
Well done Andy so proud of u 💗💗❤
I love ur channel, your all so inspirational😘😍💗❤️
7:49
You could try Andy on Cadbury’s chocolate snaps? X
Woo hoo Andy well done on drinking the milk 😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 has Andy tried chocolate milk might go down easier since he likes chocolate ???
He's always refused chocolate milk in the past, but used to drink plain milk all the time
Kevin Chapman was also thinking about the crisp problem... have you seen the little reseal machines, you could use old crisps bags that Andy likes, just need to pour the crisp from new bag to old and seal the bag again looks just like new 😄
You were in Stratford today? Where abouts, I was there too! Also really happy to hear the good news about Andy and to see him drinking some milk, all great progress :)
I'm not allowed to say exactly where I was until tomorrow afternoon - the details are on tomorrow's vlog, all will be clear then!
Ok gotcha, looking forward to seeing!
Well done Andy you did so good!!!❤️❤️
Great job Andy!!!
I can relate to Andy I’m supper picky is well I refuse to try new foods and I hate
Well done Andy great work
I’m not like having a go at you or anything. But I’m just slightly curious if anyone else thought it was wrong that when Andy said “stop recording” Kevin continued.
Well done Andy you done great
Andy did so well this time !!!!!!!!!!!
when Kev mentioned giraffe milk i got a picture of a giraffe being milked.
So did I!
Same
It reminded me of the skittles advert
hi I love your vids and well done Andy you have come so far
Would he maybe like a sippy type cup some have the silicone spouts? That might be nice as far as the chewy spout to get him interested? just a thought 😊

what about the sodium levels in crisps opposed to waffles ... good idea with the chocolate etc
Do you know if he gags because he expects to not like it or because he really can't stand the taste? It's really cool seeing him try new foods, and I even root for him as I watch the videos lol

Could more likely be the texture

Awesome video!❤️❤️
Love your videos and I have autism and I live in a residential home I'm 21
Well done Andy
good job Andy u did great xxx

have you tried a Hershey Bar? I don't know if you have them over where you are, but the segments snap off and the bar is thin.
The chocolate tastes very different unfortunately
He's so CUTE!!
Well done andy!!!
Great job Andy on drinking that giraffe milk
When you said some about his independence it got me a bit worry about if he can be trusted on this own or do any kind of independence

Kevin Chapman oh okay
Its hair looks good, Anna

Kev I'll ask my partner and her mum what the process was for them when my partner's brother turned 18; they had to transition social worker/care system and it seemed to go okay. I'll comment somewhere with my findings :P
I like that pillow
Where do you get the chewy for Andy? I like chewing things I don't have austism I have cerebral palsy though. And I chew on straws but they could cut my mouth
These ones were from Chewigem
Andy is sooo cute at least he likes some of them things
🚉 Yay Andy!!🚊
I was born under weight. I am 12 and I weigh 4.6
I know how he feels I don’t like milk at all it makes me gag along with cereal
Awwwwwwwwwwwww well done Andy doing well xx
I've got a friend who has got autism and it is hard how do you cope
There's no alternative!
why dont u get alot of diffrent vitiams, minerals, protien, calories, carbs and other things he needs in pill for and crush it up and put it in his drink or food ?
he use to eat custard which they had a powder they would mix in it that had all those things but by the sounds of it now has decided he doesn't want to eat custard and thats why they are trying to get him to drink milk because it can be mixed into his milk. He drinks mostly soda and atm potato waffles.
He doesn't eat anything at the moment that we could mix vitamins in to.
Do they still do wildlife bars Kev? They were thin and had a snap
I couldn't find any.
I love your vids
Hey kev this comments late but I hate milk and I think maybe some nesquuk powder which flavours it and really adds a lot of vitamins good luck
Yesss Andy well done for drinking the milk🥛 👍👍👍
Did you ever try plain milk again given the different taste that Andy may have preferred?
Potato waffles have nutrition in them, well done on the milk Andy! His laugh is hilerous💜
I tryed, getting some rest bit, i no chance. There is very little for Aduls in this country, loads r losing there suport. Its all down to bad funding.
Chocolate does have dairy in and cocoa is good so hopefully that’ll help him!
I get tired a lot woth my Autism.
Chocolate milk in a sippy cup.
See you dont want him to a sippy cup because then its really hard for him to go to normal cup.
Woohoo good job Andy!! 👍
A tip might be to use a fun swar or something
you should do it with food like saying no burn out untul u eat it x
We do - that's where this idea came from. I think we talked about it a few videos previously.
the best chocolate is kinder egg chocolate
I have a question... How does Andy go to the toilet? Does he wear a nappy? (There's nothing wrong with that)
Can I please have a list of everything Andy eats cuz I can show u some tips to sneak him into eating more I promise at lest one of them will work
It's pretty much just waffles and crisps at the moment
Kevin Chapman hope something will work good luck!
Kev u can buy reduced Easter eggs at Asda for 25p
If all parents of special needs kids were as patient, attentive, and loving as you 2 are the world would seriously be a better place.
really? Your child says no and you ignore it, that isn't good parenting, it's shameful.
Make his milk flavoured milk like chocolate or strawberry or banana Cos it will taste different but still gets all his needed nutrients just an idea hope you see this message and hope if u do try it does work 😊 I he has not already got used to it that is
You could try adding chocolate syrup to the milk.
I recommend animal bars because their thin and easy to snap !
Hey what about chocolate milk ?
In Tesco they do a dairy milk mini bars. Pack of 4 for £1
I’ll send you a pic on fb Page xx
Andys the same with a shot of milk as i am with vodka. Makes me gag
YAYE Andy! Great job xoxoxoxox
What does a dietitian do for him
You should have a present from me soon 😀
will Andy ever be able to live on his own? serious question or will he end up in a group home or with you and anna until your old
It's very unlikely he'll ever be completely on his own. The ideal long term situation would be some kind of assisted living arrangement.
