That is astounding. Not just for one person to play such a long very active piece, alone, but to have two people playing it as a duet and not getting a note wrong, and then dance all around the stage. I am huffing and puffing and my heart rate is up, and all that plus then admiring the personal shape and fitness of them both. I may need to call an 🚑
Dude to balance on those high heels is hard enough. To play the fiddle like that. While jumping and dancing on those high heels. And smiling too all the time. I can't begin to imagine how much practice went to this act.
I saw her 25 years ago in Detroit the first time Riverdance came here! She was outstanding even back then!! Have loved watching her over all these years!!
There are soooo many things happening here at the same time. Michael Flatley did something like this in his production, River Dance.....Remember that? Truly spectacular..... Absolutely magnificent performance here by these beautiful women..............
Mairead is an excellent fiddler but nobody mentioned Cora Smyth. She is nothing short of brilliant and her and her sister Breda are two of the best musicians I have ever seen. Its not all about throwing the hair all the time.
Beautiful violin, beutiful and flawless music, and need I say it, beautiful women! Thank you for posting! These kind of tunes,....why I love the part of my country called the Maritimes!
To those who doubt these ladies are actually doing this, I've seen Celtic Woman live and she is undoubtedly one of the best going period. She is doing it and it amazing when she does.
I love that these two are dancing and playing flawlessly at the same time...but look. They're both wearing _heels._ I could never dream of doing something so energetic with heels like that. Especially Mairead's. How the hell.
Still now, thank you! Absolutely 💯 amazing ladies! Thank you for your passion and talent 🙏 💞! Even though I can never messure up, you make me proud to be a woman, a mother, a grandchild/"child" to an amazing Oma who was a musician 🥰😇
Joyous performance by two brilliant musicians. It's quite made my day watching it. Everything was good. Tech, choreography, costume all worked. Also the ladies seemed to be enjoying what the were doing so much that it made me feel good to watch them. Thanks everyone.
One of the best with or without celtic woman you guys rock way to go to mairead nesbitt one of the best and favorite vocalists ever much love and respect and appreciation job well done you should be amazed and proud keep on playing stay safe and warm out there way to go very impressed love you guys thanks !!! Joe 😅😅😊
I don't know why it is classed as 'dueling'. If anything they are perfectly 'accompanying' each other. :-) Love this so much it give me chill every time I watch it and the original Lord of the dance.
Kaos Although they are accompanying each other, this style of music is considered "dueling" because they're both increasing in intensity with their solos, as if they're trying to outdo each other, when they really are dueting.
Mairead nesbitt one of the best and favorite violinlests ever with Celtic woman really enjoyed and appreciate you guys thanks job well done you should be amazed and proud love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock ! Joe
There are not enough words in ANY language that even begin to describe this!!!!! Watching two BEAUTIFUL women play like that and Smith dancing in 5 inch heels while she's doing it! INCREDIBLE!!!!!! I can't even walk & play my guitar at the same time...
Great effort is made, by me, to live one day at a time. That day being Saint Patrick's Day. Listening to Celtic music always, with out fail, restores my spirits. Thank you for the upload.
Nice one girls. Oh to play the "fiddle" like that, and what a brilliant piece of music it has always been. love the blue outfits too. Smith and Nesbitt forever. And this song and composer Arthur Smith, forever. Think I'll watch the clip from Deliverace again. Love to all.
This is DEFINITELY REAL!! I've seen Celtic Woman in concert and Marid Nesbit (The One with the Green Violin) is AWESOME!!! See dances around stage as she's playing. I've never seen anyone as good as her! Google her name of you still don't believe! 👀👍👏👏👏💯
I haven't seen her yet but I have seen the Harp Twins, they live about 300 miles from me and come to my area of Illinois once a year for a free concert, they will spends hours at a meet and greet after their shows.
It's great to look away from the video and just listen. They look like they are dueling but, to just my ear, they have fantastic oneness and harmony. Great performance.
To all that are saying this is fake and that no one can dance and jump around like these two ladies and play that accurately, I have new for you: yes they can. It just takes practice...A LOT of practice and die hard dedication to do something as unorthodox as this. If you don't believe me, look up a sport called marathon juggling--yes, it's a real thing--and see if that's "fake" as well.
You just need to see beyonkey and rhianna trying to sing and stomp about the stage can't, because they always run out of puff.....I reckon these two can dance about, play and do it for real, plus they entertain...
I must have been 7 or 8 when I first heard this. Apart from my parent's music, I still didn't know what I liked in music. This was my first "favorite" song. I referred to it throughout my childhood as my happy song because I didn't know what it was. I would just ask my mom to play my happy song over and over.
I love how there are people cheering wildly the entire time in the audio and yet whenever the camera pans over the audience it's like 50% people over the age of like 70 sitting there just enjoying it and the rest are various ages...and they're all not cheering wildly.
I wish I could have heard the fiddles more, Instead I heard a lot of accordion! But when I saw this show, the two young ladies in this video weren't there, but the two young ladies that did were fantastic.
Though now that i mention it it could also be from Celtic Tiger or Feet of Flames...these 2 are in most Michael Flaherty productions. Still great though
Some very negative comments....A lot of people talking waffle...they have a good sound they look well... sit back and enjoy....enough from the critics....all the best players on the side line
Elles jouent en play back !

Its dubbed

@@edusam666Yeah, 100% playback - but the show is very nice!
Mairead Nesbitt, such an adorable total talent package! She throws everything into her performances.
seeing her flutter across the stage like a fairy now with the celtic women is also real fun to watch
It's so wonderful to see her performance.
I saw her 25 years ago in Detroit the first time Riverdance came here! She was outstanding even back then!! Have loved watching her over all these years!!
Nobody plays with the style, flare and ability as Mairead Nesbitt. I could watch and listen to her all day!
Not only outstanding music but the sheer joy with which they play is completely infectious - I love it!
I'm impressed that Máiréad Nesbitt trusts those heels she's wearing NOT to break. 😉
Riverdance gave so much pleasure and the "Dueling Violins" is absolutely outstanding.
Not Riverdance. Lord of the dance. Big difference.
I've had the pleasure seeing Celtic Women live. I had no doubts about her ability to move, dance, and play - this is pure talent.
it still amazes me how ecstatic the audience is.
really love this piece.
never fails to amaze me the talent that comes out of Ireland
Mairead always dances when playing seen her playing and dancing with Celtic Woman Live and man she is awesome

An old post. But a glorious phrase. I'll be using it, crime not to.
Hope your soul is glowing a lot.

Never gets old.. terrific piece..
They have mastered their violin playing and their stage presence is outstanding!
There are soooo many things happening here at the same time. Michael Flatley did something like this in his production, River Dance.....Remember that? Truly spectacular.....
Absolutely magnificent performance here by these beautiful women..............
What a stunning performance. The energy is wonderful.
This is what I am talking about, pure talent at work.
They are not actually playing lol
Music At its best
Tento duet je vynikající a po tolika letech nic nestratil ze své krásy. Stále je mám rád.
This song makes me dance around in my room every time! No lie! 👍😍 🎻
Wow thats great! Makes me want to immigrate BACK to Ireland! Our grand Parents came here, it would be cool if we all went back home!
I have family in Ireland that I've never even met. My grandmother who was a knockout was full Irish. She was a dancer and model
Mairead is an excellent fiddler but nobody mentioned Cora Smyth. She is nothing short of brilliant and her and her sister Breda are two of the best musicians I have ever seen. Its not all about throwing the hair all the time.

That's Misread Nesbitt formerly from Celtic Woman.
Beautiful violin, beutiful and flawless music, and need I say it, beautiful women! Thank you for posting! These kind of tunes,....why I love the part of my country called the Maritimes!
Mairead Nesbitt performed in a magical musical video with the Harp Twins recently. Talk about ultimate energy! I can't wait for it to go public.
Saw the Harp Twins perform, they even knew it was my 60th Birthday :)

Okay, no one won. Respect is attained here. They are beautiful artists. God I love this! Just enjoy it.
Irish music has survived through famine and oppression... And it's more than clear from this performance! It has only grown stronger and stronger!
Alue14 I will take a mad bake potatoe with butter & cream cheese please.
Now it will have to survive multiculturalism and globalism.
Alue14 this is about as close to authentic Irish music as a goldfish is to a horse. Just horrible

truly a wonderful peace of art work. I love their costumes too.
Wow! It's impossible to call a favorite - both are incredibly beautiful and talented. I call a draw.
Amo este duelo! Ojala todos los conflictos y guerras fueran asi de bonitos!
When she does live performances she sounds great while playing and pulls off insane movements while doing it.
Mairead Nesbitt, my all-time favorite violinist. I could listen to her play for hours on end...
very beautifull! all the musical instruments are beautiful but the violin has a particular sound, absolute peace.

Oh, thank you AdriFlaherty...... What a wonderful experience! Brought happiness to my heart.
I'm more impressed that they can move around stage like that in those heels than I am with the fiddle playing, though that was impressive as well.

have you noticed that by the end of the song, both of their bows are a little "frazzled"?? Just shows that some serious fiddle playing was done.

I have just found this, Fantastic. Mairead, Princess in the mist. Cora together just beautiful .
This tempo is Old time in Australia.
Unique! A wonder of rythm! And a magic performance out of a genuine passion.
They are both amazing!
I agree that Maireed has to be from some faery world somewhere. How else could she run and turn and swirl and jump like that?
I came here via Marie Lopez............thumbs skywards..........subbed U2.........
*Mairead Nesbitt!!! Wonderful with Celtic Woman And Wonderful here!!! You gotta love her!!!
This is simply a great extravaganza of the finest talent!
absolutely beautiful and full of Life
Such a lovely contrast compared to all the primitive rap and 'R&B' sounds that are diffused world wide.
alelooooooya I agree, this is music that comes from a ancient tradition and is not manufactures in a studio by idiots.
fineartist Tradition in itself is not inherently more more than new things.
What matters is the quality produced, not the age of it.
jokum assgard more worth*
Bob Loblaw Yes, I saw that one. Lovely too. Although I have commented on a different upload of the same video, within the last few months.
Fineartist - In the immortal words of Lynard Skynard - "you got that right"!!!!
These ladies remind me of the aunts in Sabrina the teenage witch.
I can see it too!
OMG THATS IT XD
Unaired episode, they lost a bet to Salem and don't know the talent will stop mid song
Who says they're not?
Beautiful music by beautiful Celtic women, a glorious experience indeed!
Now that's how a dueling banjo should be. That was just kickin' awesome!
