I actually watched/listened to the whole 24 hour #ELEVATE project. This ended up becoming deeper than I would of imagined. It's interesting to hear people who you can imagine are quite shy dive right into a real conversation with Shia, who's a celebrity and a stranger to them. There's also the whole dynamic community that forms in the line while waiting where people are coming in as groups where they became friends while waiting. Thats rad. I've been on a Shia youtube bender and it's official, the dude is cool as fuck, down to earth, passionate, and just straight up real. He's made some mistakes but who hasnt? He owns up to them, learns from them, and tries to better himself. When its all said and done thats what really matters. Props to Shia man, big fan from here on out.

He is not an underrated actor, nobody ever said he is a bad actor, all the conflict was related to his own behaviour. He is definetly one of the best actors, in my opinion, and a good person.

The question of 'how did you stay focused in your career as a lot of other child actors have gone off the rails?' Was a question and answer that moved me because I rode in an elevator once with Shia, it was just him and I. We were two kids at the Beverly Hecht agency. I remember him asking me 'what's wrong with your dad?' At the time I kind of pretended I didn't know what he was talking about but that's because I was acting out of fear and did not want to mention the issue. My dad was an angry tyrant many times, Shia saw this. I remember coffee being thrown at the windshield once driving 90 miles an hour on the freeway on the way to the set. It was rather stressful, and his view on my father made it clear that others might be thinking the same thing, which I believe ultimately ended up with my situation as an actor being jeopardized. During the #imsorry piece I got in my van in the bay area the night I heard about it because I only had one day to make it, but there was so much dense fog and I was falling asleep at the wheel, I also had a torn ACL in my right knee and heard when I woke up that the lines took hours, and couldn't be standing for very long. I would have loved to see him but just couldn't make it. If you happen to see this Shia please shoot me a message.
Also Shia is a struggling on going Alcoholic whom on occasions beats his Female Partners. And in private life is highly Aggressive and abusive to the people around him.. Hence l personally found you're comment as some what sickofantic and nieve. Just saying.

I think the problem here is that you want to demolish Shia to make yourself feel better about yourself. Shia has issues and he's seeking help. Artists are notorious for struggling with their mental health and having substance abuse issues and significant trauma. Interesting how the trio on stage seemed to be looking for a kind of natural conversation between them and the audience but turned out to be some confusion from the audience regarding that.. like it wasn’t clicking to them that it wasn’t some sort of lecture or seminar where you listen and take notes more something you feel with the speakers that was intended to transcend speaker listener dynamic and create something organic from that experience, in the form of art. Like it’s vulnerability in the form of art, what you create from that vulnerability, for Shia I felt it wasn’t just emotion but what it means to him not to just mope around and run his mouth about feelings but how we share that unspoken thing. If you've had trauma in your childhood the brain wires up differently, you can feel completely disconnected no matter how many people are around you. You just feel separate. Talking from experience here. It's a horrible thing and I feel for him.
I think it aligns with his comment on often his interactions are a "take" Being in the position he is in there would always be that underlying doubt of peoples intentions within any relationship. I love the idea of using the audience as part of the performance and without them it wouldn't work. My dance performance was very much like this in my second year of university. Everything they did, reacted a different response out of me and in a way I think Shia is doing this.

+provenelk As a child actor, and also knowing Shia I can say that while he was a kid he wasn't raised in a traditional school setting, he had studio school with a stage teacher that was hired for him, he did not have a standard education they just assign homework to us and only have to be in that classroom setting for 2-3 hours a day, so all ;mandatory reading would not be required as it was for most people who have gone to regular school. Usually the required reading was whatever we wanted to read. Likewise he says that he doesn't like political artwork so he wouldn't of picked that book in the first place.

My opinion of using hashtags is that it is much like using a "channel" number-if you were to want to watch a TV show (say, American Horror Story) you would know what channel to go to in order to watch it. Faking laughter : If most of your day surrounded by people who are fake laughing to be acknowledged and you sit observing their behaviour because you don't fit in and you just don't know what is so funny or at what point you should join in on the joke .... it plays with your ... psyche...messes with your aura. I love the idea of using the audience as part of the performance and without them it wouldn't work. My dance performance was very much like this in my second year of university. Everything they did, reacted a different response out of me and in a way I think Shia is doing this.

+provenelk As a child actor, and also knowing Shia I can say that while he was a kid he wasn't raised in a traditional school setting, he had studio school with a stage teacher that was hired for him, he did not have a standard education they just assign homework to us and only have to be in that classroom setting for 2-3 hours a day, so all ;mandatory reading would not be required as it was for most people who have gone to regular school. Usually the required reading was whatever we wanted to read. Likewise he says that he doesn't like political artwork so he wouldn't of picked that book in the first place.
