    Loved the 'enter car through windshield (mandatory)' part LOL. Got my thumbs up just for that line

    Tip from experience roll ur windows down !!!! If u close the door with all the windows closed there is a possibility the the pressure build up will cause the windshield to actually pop out

      That makes no sense. You must’ve just installed it wrong. No car is pressure sealed like a plane is.

      @@iziahchavez4040I’m at a window repair place right now and he agreed with the guys statement. He said if the interior gets too warm while the glass is bonding it can cause it to move even slightly that can effect the seal of the window as it sets

    Just wanna say that I'd bee on disability if I used a manual caulking gun! With around 800 windscreen replacements per year my best friend in the world is my Milwaukee M12 caulking gun! And a long blade for those parts where the window knife, or pull knife as we call it here is usually faster than a wire, unless you have a car, like some Skodas and Wolkswagens where the knife just won't fit then I use an Aegis Solo Cut 2 composite wire cutter.
    But those are personal preferences! All in all a very good video, and I snorted out loud about the mandatory "enter trough windshield"

    When you said you "mask off the area" is it absolutely needed? As in if, later the material was snagged out on accident by say... a sun visor... Would it cause a leak with its absence? Asking for a friend...lol

    So is DIY THAT cost effective?

    • @Anthony_aus
      @Anthony_aus 2 года назад +1

      Not really, the tools and glass cost for doing a job like this one will cost you just as much if not more than just to get it done professionally. It only takes us around 40 minutes to do a job like this and then the windshield has to sit for 30 mins before drive away. Most people have insurance for this stuff anyway.

    • @SuperDachshund
      @SuperDachshund 2 года назад

      @@Anthony_aus That’s what I figured. I looked into the tools and such. I will not be doing this DIY any time soon.

    • @foxfordcatguy2283
      @foxfordcatguy2283 Год назад

      @@Anthony_ausUnless, like me, you had the tools to cut the windows for years (stripped & scraped plenty of cars & also taken a few windows out in junkyards). You can get them for less than $10 at Harbor Freight. Bought a long knife for less than $20. I had a good windshield I cut out of another car years ago. For popular cars you can also get windows/windshields from restoration parts suppliers.
