  • 100 miles through floating debris fields, 44 degree temps, but the Smallmouth were chewing! Tim caught his 7 lber the evening before so no matter what was in front of us we were going to make it back for more!
The smallmouth were sitting on current seams and ledges in 5 to 18 feet of water. We used a combination of swimbaits and crankbaits to trigger the schools into feeding and then the slugfest began! This was one of the most viscious feeding sessions we've ever seen with smallmouth bass.

Great job guys! I would first like to say thank you for not hot spotting my home lake. I moved from the central valley of California to be closer to this lake 25 years ago. I am lucky to be able to fish this lake nearly year round! My PB is 8.8 but beings I am a fish taxidermist I have done many Replicas for bass weighing well over 9 pounds and I mounted the state record that was only ounces shy of 10 pounds. I must say I am very impressed with your ability to be on great fish in the short time that you visited.

Looks a lot like Dworshak reservoir, when you say 100 miles round trip in a day that is a dead giveaway. But a 50 mile run up to fish is a little much, there are closer spots than that.
