I was living in London for 2 years before covid and these broke back some good memories. That Helios and your compositions give this video a magical touch, congrats.
Ok, ive been so unsure what camera to buy next, coming from ursa mini 4k and sony a7sii, love the colours on the blackmagic, and havent really got it right in the sony world when grading coming near blackmagic colour sience. I shoot now on the Helios 44-2 from the fabric in belarus, first 44-2 modell mmz, model h-202 Aaamaazing lense! And seeing this, how you actually nailed the colour sience on this, inspired me to go the fx3 way! THANK YOU Wilbert! Feels right now, choosing this over the bmpcc 6k fullframe!
I’m so glad this could be a helpful reference for you! This was all done with just s-log 3 and some work in DaVinci (no extra plugins!). I’m excited to see what you create out there!
Yeah! It's a general guideline I'd say. Especially when just shooting with available light, I try to expose anywhere from 1.0-1.7. I break that rule all the time though haha.
Not the whole film - I used it for about 50%. You can figure out which shots really by the bokeh! Even not wide open, it tends to distort on the sides and gives this really dreamy look.

Ahh, coming from someone who lived there, that means a lot. Thank you for saying that! 🙏🏻
Helios 44-2 is such a fun lens to use! And your footage looks amazing!
I couldn't agree more. I love bringing it around with me. Thank you so much!
I love it
Great work

What an incredible video!
Thank you so much!
Stunning ❤
Thank you so much!
Great stuff! Did you need an adapter for the Fx3? Thanks.
Thank you! Yes! You can find a pretty affordable adapter on Amazon that does the trick.
How did you expose normally for your fx3? Do you go 1.7stops?
Beautiful shots and composition by the way!

@@WilbertCThanks for that bro haha! Also last question, were you able to put in an ND filter on the Helios Lens?
hi there I just been use this lens and give great look to the video.
It’s a fantastic lens!
does focus peaking or focus map work on those vintage lenses?
It does! Which really helps. It can still be tricky to nail focus, but it’s helpful!
Awesome video! Did you used any promist?
No promist! Just NDs when necessary. I added a tad of halation in post to push it toward that film look.
@@WilbertC awesome, thanks!
You Have LUTS?
Nice work.. Did you add film grains on the video?
Thank you! I did add film grain in post using Dehancer in DaVinci Resolve! I find that this gives some of the best post-production grain
I've thought about this lens a lot, did you get one with an oval insert?
No oval insert actually! The lens has that bokeh naturally which I think is such a cool characteristic!
I couldn’t recommend the lens enough honestly. It’s so fun to use.
Lovely work Wilbert, some of my favourite places too. Did you use the Helios 44-2 for the whole film?
Not the whole film - I used it for about 50%. You can figure out which shots really by the bokeh! Even not wide open, it tends to distort on the sides and gives this really dreamy look.
was this handheld?
Yes it was! Entirely handheld.
where does one securely get a Helios 44-2?
I searched on Etsy! You can find some reputable retailers.
