Thanks for the video - I spend a lot of time in Wicklow (Ireland) - you’ve obviously mastered using the FX3’s capabilities to v.good effect - if - as I suspect - you’re a sole operator (at least in the case of this type of project), the FX3 seems an excellent choice !
Really good work, I love the look of the waves. I would like to hear more of the nature sounds instead of the piano, but this was a great little break from my day. Thanks.
Jack I was so surprised when I saw you only had 93 subscribers (make it 94 now!). This was an amazing video and I loved every shot. Keep creating please.
Loved this video man! I have an A7siii and a 24-70 so seeing that that's basically what this was shot on was a great inspiration to get out there and shoot something myself. Curios about your stabilization though, Mix of slider and gimbal for the moving shots?
really breathtaking close ups of the nature - what lens were you using? The overall details in the long lens shots were very crisp. Btw I make films and just made a cinematic travelogue of my last six months in Europe and the US. I'd appreciating knowing what you think Jack!
Beautiful colour grading! Did you shoot in slog3? How did you shoot the timelapse? What is the best way on the FX3 to get the timelapse quality that you have achieved here? Great work!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. Yes, the entire video was filmed in S-LOG3, including the time lapses which were filmed in S&Q mode to ensure high dynamic range and to allow more flexibility in the edit. There are a few things I would advise to ensure you get the best quality time lapses with the FX3. 1. The image must be correctly exposed. I would use the multi-metre most of the time to help with exposure. However, if you’re filming a bright sky or a sunset, I highly recommend using the zebras to ensure the highlights don’t clip and to help expose the image more accurately. 2. I also highly recommend using a variable ND filter to help with exposing the image when filming outdoors, especially for a sunset time lapse because it will allow you to film with a wide aperture, giving you a shallow depth of field. 3. If you’re filming a time lapse in S&Q mode, set the S&Q frame rate to 1fps and I would set the recording frame rate to 50fps. The reason for this is because you can slow the time lapse down to 25fps in the edit if you think it is a little too fast and you will still get a smooth image. Thank you so much again, and I really hope this helps.
