As a current production sound mixer I also run a wedding videography company, I feel like the better option is to run wirelessly via the rode link which would implement the 1/4 to 3.5 in to the rode link transmitter which also for the field record (I use a sound devices 664) to be on you which allows you to adjust your levels and monitor your feed in a much more efficient way
Quick clarification on "line level" and the use of attenuators. The goal should not be to pad a line level signal down to mic level (although you certainly can). The goal is to make sure you don't overload your recorders input. Depending on what kind of recorder you have, your maximum input will vary. The h6 for instance has a built in -20db pad for each input for this reason. A common misconception about line level is that there is one standard line level. In reality there are different types of line level. Most importantly, the line level that comes from a large bands proper sound board. It is still possible to overload the rolands input just like you would overload a zoom h1. Its not a common thing but it certainly can happen. If I am working with a large band I will always use the built in -20db pad from the h6 or an attenuator. Love your videos!
my h4n firts generation has dual xlr mic and 1/4 line inputs. But i cant get clear line level recording thru de 1/4 inputs. So now i am going to check if the H4N comes with built in attenuation. thanks
Wow, I'm just shaking my head in disbelief. Craig, thank you for your clarity. I'm just ashamed for humanity that one would need to instruct other videographers how to be a normal, nice, polite human being. Since day one, I've always contacted the audio guys ahead of time and then later introduced myself in person, said hi and created a relationship. It never occurred to me NOT to be a normal nice person. Anyways, thanks again for taking on this bold education task.
I performed at a wedding recently where the videographer came up and started plugging a recorder into the DJ's board without saying a word 🤦♂ DJ was pissed
Great videos I enjoy watching them. Just one thing...at 5:00 you mention that the line input is for mics and lavs, then you go on to say to use the line input from the board. Did you mean mic input first for the mics and lavs?
yeah, this is still more confusing than before watching LOL! Apparently LINE is higher level than MIC, hence could use attenuators (e.g. -20db) to bring a LINE level audio source down to MIC level.
I had the same question, I'm pretty sure he misspoke and that you're correct. It's too bad he doesn't seem to respond to anyone's sincere questions on this video.
Mic is basically a lifted audio signal. Line level is essentially without amplification. I assign an auxiliary out on my mixer for the videographer. They get the same signal I send to my speakers, and can easily unplug when they’re done pulling sound off my board. If they ask REALLY nicely, I can sometimes hook them up with a wireless low latency broadcast quality signal.
Hi man, Thanks for the video. I would recommend letting the wedding planner contact the audio technician. This way I definitely increase my chances. Many times audio technicians or Dj's might just not want to. Not all of them but I don't take any chances. But If It's a request coming from the bride and groom then they wont say no cause they are direct clients of them.
I have been a photographer for 6 years now and getting into videography. Great videos. Keep it up. Its hard to find good videos regarding wedding videos. Thanks for putting these out!!!!
Do you have a backup plan in case the DJ's audio is of poor quality? It's rare, but I've had instances where the DJ's wireless signal suffered from interference, making it largely unusable in the video, not to mention intolerable for the guests in attendance. In these instances I've quickly placed another external recorder in front of the speech reader, but it's never as clear as it would've been had then by holding a mic up to their mouth. I've thought about rigging up a my wireless stick mic next to the DJ's stick mic, so the speech readers would talk into two mics at the same time. I've also thought about attaching lavs to the speech readers just in case the DJ's audio goes awry. Your thoughts are appreciated.
+Jeremy Bay How did your audio sound? Was it peaking all the time? I also use a H4N but I have 2 -20bd attenuators because using the proper cables (xlr/14) alone will make the audio bad and distorted. the attenuators will help and you won't have any peaking or distorted audio.
+Kris Capiendo the H4N worked great connected to the DJ mixer. I got some great audio from that for the speeches. Not so much on during the ceremony. The DJ didn't have a wireless mic so he was able to give them a mic for the speeches at the reception (wired close to him) but not the ceremony. I had my new Sennheiser lav mic on the officiant which worked perfectly. For the groom I had a very cheap lav mic which cut out all of his vowels. His mic did work correctly to pick up the brides vowels but cut out right when he began. I have since purchased another Sennheiser!
Nice video! I have the Roland R-05 and didn't know that tidbit of info about using Line Level from the DJ. Does the Zoom H4N accept Line IN audio as well?
Super helpful video, Thank You! We have a Tascam DR 70. We are filming a wedding soon and wanted to get our settings dialed correctly. I know nothing about audio so I'll post what we currently have, if anyone has advice I'd love to know it! We have channels 1&2 recording from the EXT_stereo input. Gain = Mid. Phantom power is off. Ch 1 = left pan. Ch 2= right pan Should we record a 3rd channel? Any advice is much appreciated!
Oh you cleared so many doubts... However I would be grateful if you could help me with the following doubt: I am a Wedding DJ and I use Allen & Heath ZED-6FX...(t says Live Recording)..but there r no videos or demos to guide me how to use it. I also use Thump 15'' Mackie Speakers along with Thump 18'' Mackie Subwoofers. Kindly advice me how to go ahead with recording my shows. Regards
So would you suggest recording the board audio over recording with a lav mic set up? Im on a pretty small budget but I already have a cheap lav mic and would like to record better sound.
You recommended the "Zoom H5 Four-Track Portable Recorder" on your professional page. Do you use the Tascam Dr-70D or the Zoom H5 for the board audio? And other than that, do you just use the Tascam DR-10L to mic people up for Audio? Last question I had was about syncing the audio with the video that you take; how do you do that?
So I have the roland r-05 to record with the dj board. Is there anyway you can explain some of the switches to it? For example what should the mic gain, limiter, and low cut be set to? Also should i be messing with any of the other stuff(Finder, Speed, Reverb, AB)?
Great video. However , I'm confused.... At 5:01 you say the line input is for low signals but then you proceed to says the sound board sends out a high signal and should be plugged into the line inputs ???? Am I missing something?
I am a DJ who is helping to run audio out of my board to our videographer for an upcoming wedding. My question is where you plug in that doesn't also get the music. I use top of the line Yamaha mixers but only have a single output for the board, not for each channel. How do you get mic audio only?
Nice tutorial. I have a question. When you shot a wedding, how do you know how much input level must put it on your zoom h1, when it work with a lavalier mic? Thanks.
+Luis Miguel Silva Do a test before hand. Put it on yourself and talk at a normal volume. Check the audio file on your computer, if it's to loud, lower the input and try again! Do the prep work before even getting to the wedding.
I plan on using the Zoom H1 to record out of the mixer (I know he says I won't be able to use it) but I've seen other filmmakers using it to record out of (its all I can afford right now) but I plan on using double RCA cables to RCA female splitter into a female 3.5mm w/ an attached 3.5mm attenuator and hooking that on my Zoom H1. Will that fix the clipping that you will usually get without a attenuator?
ok.. since this video is of the topic, here is the question again.. "Hi, just came to ur channel.. great stuff.. I hope am not late, i have a little question.. i moved from 5d2 to 5d3, and am used to dual channel sound recording (Internal + External on 2 cannels) on Magic Lantern for 5d2.. Which seems to be missing on 5d3.. have u got a solution for this or a workaround without investing much on additional gear, especially i wish not to add extra gear on what i am to carry around.. Thanks." PS.. why i do so, it is only a backup.. sometimes if sound is too loud on one channel, u can always work with the not too great internal recording..
thanks for this video. just one quick question. do you also run a backup recorder just in case something happens to the DJs board? if so, how do you do it?
Please help I have 2 1/4 to a 2 1/4 wire and I want to record stereo, from a dj (loud music ) how do I connect and set it up . And what settings are best . I have a tascam dr 40
Oh Kraig one thing, u mentioned that you are using the Tascam DR-60, but you also recommended the H6. Does the price difference really worth it for weddings?
+Toth Szilard My Tascam DR60 is old... I think it really comes down to these two: Tascam DR-70d ($250) amzn.to/1SCXxHC Zoom H6 ($400) amzn.to/1S6SyzG I haven't done exact comparisons between the two yet but I would go for the tascam to save money. I like the size and feel of the zoom better though. They're both 4 channel and have pretty much the same features. Hope that helps!
Any recommendation on using an H4N Zoom Pro with a DJM 900 Nexus 2? I've been trying to figure out how to get the cleanest audio possible with the correct settings on the H4N but haven't quite nailed it yet.
+Coolcube Studio if you mean those cables with one connector on one end two on the other, that's beacause they split the stereo signal into two mono signals ("left" and "right")
+Coolcube Studio Stereo is usually better than mono IMO. In either case, you can split the mono or stereo source into two different recording levels on your device. I think you go it. It's hard to type out and explain! LMK if you need clarification. I could have included this info in the video but I felt that it wasn't as important and would TOTALLY confuse people even more so yeah.... #shortcuts
Just experienced this problem, although technically you could use some "post" magic but if you change your input settings to "mono mix - on". That should technically do the trick. But I would just use (2) XLR inputs with (2) attenuators.
Why 1/4" to 1/4"? The single male connector end would most likely only fit into a phones Jack on the DJs mixer, which would be unavailable because they would be using it for phones already. I can't think of where else you'd be able to plug in that quarter TRS (stereo) on the mixing board. I would imagine RCA tape out to 1/4" would be better and more efficient
Hey...Can you maybe do a reaction video to your first or second wedding and like tell us what you would do better now that you know a lot. That would help us all I think
I was trying to connect directly from the DJ's speaker on my first trial wedding this past weekend and as you mentioned, the signal was far too hot. my levels were at 2 or 3 out of 100 and the audio still sounded very messy and crunchy even though it didn't read any clipping. any suggestions on how to record cleaner audio straight from the speakers? I have a zoom h4n. thanks!
I apologize for this off topic question but I'm really curious about the background during this video. Is it black paper? I noticed it was keyed out during your review video, but it just seems too perfect to be green screen! if it is black paper, I'm especially curious how you managed to get that slightly off black color without getting a lot of noise. sorry again and thanks!
HELP PLEASE 3:55 where do you normally plug the 1/4 into the mixer? the headphone out? or the main out? the main out has both L and R right? so don't you need two 1/4" to 1/4" cables?
Hi there, Im a bit new in audio, sorry if some of the questions are too obvious. I need to record an event (people talking) and I need to get the sound from the mixer. The XlR are taken and also the mixer is very far from where I will put my camera(professional camera with XLR)... I'm gonna record the sound separately with my Tascam DR-60D MKii, the mixer at the venue is a "JBSYSTEMS MM-10".I have a cable wich is 1/4" balanced Jack to XLR, so I guess I could plug one side of the cable, the 1/4" Jack into the mixer and the XLR into my Tascam I have few questions. 1- Are the all the output from a regular mixer Line Level? 2- Can I connect any of the Mixer output to my tascam...XLR,6.5mm TR Jack,Auxiliar Sends,Subgroups..etc Is there any different btw them? 3- Can I use the headphones output from the Mixer to record the sound into my Tascam or professional camera? My Tascam has Line Level 1000 time Thanks you!!
Help guys please! Filming my first wedding for my buddy. I have a zoom h4n pro. I spoke to the DJ and he said that most of the videographers connect xlr to his speaker. Is this good/bad? Should I abort this option and go with a 1/4” set up instead?
Cory Nardis recorded through the speaker but the audio levels peaked like crazy. I should have recorded the volume at a much lower setting (I had it set at 50%)
at around 5 minutes, you discussed the line in port and mic port, however you said the line in that we arent really gonna use it but then at 5:18, you said "instead use the line port" as the plug in for the mixer. i'm confused. which one is it?
+Sam Freed Your correct here Sam, thanks for catching the mistake! I just added an annotation onto the video and hopefully that will help clear up any future confusion. I meant to say "mic input" at that moment instead of "line input".
Can i recorder a speaker for a wedding straight from the sound board if they are mic up with a wireless lav mic . what would the levels look like for that or would just suggest a recorder on him with an addition lav mic. or can is there a splinter for the lav mic that goes straight to the wireless pa system and a his on person recorder
Question: Would U happen to know Where on the Zoom HN4 Pro U connect on the Line Level signal from a mixer other than Attenuators in the XLR ports? The Head Phone/Line 3.5mm Jack on the left side or the 3.5 mic jack on the top rear just below the on board mics?
Im new to W.V. and tascam D70 and zoon h6 are far on my budget, what would you recommend between zoom H4 and the beginning audio recorder from your list. Thank you
I have Tascam DR 40 and find that after half an hour the timing Crystals will start to drift which makes it hard to syn up later in post! Do other have this problem and are there better recorders that don't suffer So much from this problem??
If the Tascam DR-60D has a dual mono mode in which it records 2 mono signals - with the second signal at a lower volume, why go from the soundboard to the Tascam with a dual TRS input? Wouldn't that be like recording 4 signals?
If you're lucky, there will be a fully mixed mono output from the board and you won't be feeding in stereo. In that case, the dual mono is just for safety. What I've had to do on a couple of occasions when only stereo was available--and the source was so wildly variable that I felt I needed a lower level backup--is to use adapters to record stereo on channels 1 and 2 at one level and then into the 3mm 3/4 channels to record at a lower level.
I'm a DJ, and run into videographers wanting to connect into my mixer. I don't have issues doing it. The problem occurs when they connect to the back of my speaker. It either lowers my output, or basically shuts off the speaker. I believe it may have something to do with phantom power perhaps? Is that something somebody here can explain. I don't have an audio receiver, but is there a setting to turn off phantom power?
Hi Craig, HNY!! and many thanks for making this one of your fist vids of the year. Two questions, when connecting tip/ring/sleeve 1/4" to dual tip/sleeve cable from mixer to field recorder, and recording a mono signal, presumably this is a "balanced" connection. Does the field recorder automatically know this is a mono file and treat both cable inputs as one signal? (or does the cable connect the other way, t/r/s to recorder and t/s x t/s to L/R outputs on recorder). Is there a reason that a 1/4" tip/ring/sleeve to 1/4" tip/ring/sleeve cable can't be used? And secondly, do all mixers output only after leveling and EQ, or are there any ports on a mixer that just output original signal directly from microphones? I ask this, as audio quality is then dictated to how well mixer board has been setup, also, any 'on the go' level adjustments made by the mixer will go through to your recording, good and bad. many thanks Mark
Hey Craig! Have a question for line in recording. On my Tascam DR 40 I will do a quarter inch line in from their audio board but it always seems to come up extremely quiet on my tascam dr 40. My inputs go up to 20 when i'm on line it so that doesn't really help either. is that the DJ's fault? or is there something else I should do?
I have a Zoom F6 32 bit float and sometimes coming out of the DJ's speakers with an XLR using a -20 db attenuater the signal is still clipping. What are the options when I can't get a output from their audio board Thanks
First, Kraig isn't a part of this channel anymore. The video you commented on is WAYYYYY old. Watch our more recent stuff. Second, you shouldn't need an attenuator at all if your recorder can do line / mic levels and beyond that if you're recording 32 bit float it should be INCREDIBLY difficult (though not technically impossible) to clip. I would imagine this is a problem in your settings or with the dj's signal or something where it isn't actually clipping - Bobby
I want to know from TASCAM DR-60D MKII recrder can record live musical show from mixer to this recorder directly or need any other part to connect those two. i mean big mixer and this recorder.
hey there. pls help. have you ever come across with the sound/dj guy at the wedding that when you connect your recorder with them. not all of them but sometimes than you pick a soft hum sound with your recorder. I heard people say that it has something to do with the earth power connection from the dj or even the buildings earth connection. is there any solution to that?
Hi! Thanks for your video. I am trying to record a DJ mix- have connected my mixer to a ZoomH4n through x2 RCA to male XLR cables via -20db attenuators. Channel 1 record vol is at 10 but channel 2 has to be up 100 to be at the same level. Do you know why this could be? Thanks in advance
Wedding Film School there is yes, it’s picking up a signal from both channels so connection must be ok, it’s just weird that channel 2 levels are so low. I have found a workaround which is to set the H4n recording setting to mono which seems to take the feed from channel 1(only) and output it as the recording to both channels. Works for now but still weird that I have to do that!
@@TG_TIPS I'm sure it's some silly setting somewhere but it's really hard to know without looking at it, especially having not powered on an h4n for many years. Glad you found a workaround!

my h4n firts generation has dual xlr mic and 1/4 line inputs. But i cant get clear line level recording thru de 1/4 inputs. So now i am going to check if the H4N comes with built in attenuation. thanks
The h4N doesn't come with built in attenuation but I am pretty sure the H6 does.
zoom h5 has a -20db pad built in as well
I got everything i am looking for in your channel !! thank god this guy exist in this planet

Great tips bro! I have the Zoom H2n, and it has 'line in' port. So can it handle the higher signal that you mentioned?
From a DJ stand point, I laugh at the confusion of cables but I remember when I didn't know what they were for as well lol
At 5:02 does he means Line than Mic or Mic Than Line? He said Line both times
Thanks for that. Someone suggested i use an RI box. Do you think its necessary, particularly for someone starting out on a low budget?

Can you use Zoom H4 as a recording device instead? This Tascam seams to tech/pro for me.
Yes
I fucking love this guys positivity. I wish wedding photographers (like me) had these types of videos on RUclips. But video looks harder.
smaulpaul it is indeed^^ on a way that you need more stuff to work (for the rest idk I'm ont a photographer)

Very helpful for a newbie to audio! Thank you! Away to look at your gear list...
What settings do you use for the dr-60 to record DJ sound board? Great video! Thanks for the help!
That was my question also...It's not full explanation
Do you use roland recorder just for its ability to take line level input? Do Zoom and Tascam not have that option?
You would have to explain everything Exa. How to connect mixer to Dr-60 with RCA cable...e.t.c....
I also have the dr 60. What is the best record slash input setup? Only seems to record a mono with two inputs slash cables going at same time.
Helped a lot dude. Thank you!

Zoom H6 ($400) amzn.to/1S6SyzG
I haven't done exact comparisons between the two yet but I would go for the tascam to save money. I like the size and feel of the zoom better though. They're both 4 channel and have pretty much the same features. Hope that helps!
+Wedding Film School thanks!
Male XLR to 6.35mm Stereo TRS Jack. Would this work for H5 to mix desk? By the way. Would you use 1 XLR or Two at once? Thanks.
Good info - thanks!
very nice video! Thanks
Any recommendation on using an H4N Zoom Pro with a DJM 900 Nexus 2? I've been trying to figure out how to get the cleanest audio possible with the correct settings on the H4N but haven't quite nailed it yet.
Where into the mixer do these go in? I had a DJ that plugged into the headphone jack and the audio came out with static noise
Hey Kraig, super helpful video! But why do most of the cables have dual outputs? Is it to record multiple sound files? Thanks
#shortcuts
+Toth Szilard Yesssss thanks for helping me out Toth.
+Wedding Film School Thanks Kraig and Toth! Appreciate the help!
5:27 - Would the TASCAM DR-05 work better, like no pecking when use on the mixer?
Thank you so much Craig!!
XLR to XLR? Would this not give you only a one channel recording? I own H5 and search for the best solution for DJ desk.
Just experienced this problem, although technically you could use some "post" magic but if you change your input settings to "mono mix - on". That should technically do the trick. But I would just use (2) XLR inputs with (2) attenuators.
Great vid Kraig. Do you find that you get a better signal from 1/4 or XLR, or both will be the same quality if coming from the same source?
+Mitch Phillips Hypothetically if the 1/4" is TRS, it should be exactly the same. If its a TS, it will be ungrounded.
I have a zoom h4n. thanks!
what db should I set my tascam DR-40X to for a wedding?
Dude, can I directly plugin dual 1/4 cable into Mixer and the other end 3.5mm to DSLR? Do I need anything in between?
Hi, Can a zoom h5 do the job instead? Since it has an “input pad of -20db” internally. Thanks in advance.
Hello, I was just wondering if you have any other options for recorders that would be able to record audio from the board that are less expensive.
Kraig, would a Zoom H4n Pro work with board audio as opposed to just an H1? Just bought a TON of gear so I can't really buy anything else right now.
+Sam Walter Official He's at the RUclips space, where Kraig can use the studio to record youtube videoes... :)
HELP PLEASE
3:55 where do you normally plug the 1/4 into the mixer? the headphone out? or the main out? the main out has both L and R right? so don't you need two 1/4" to 1/4" cables?
Thank you very much for sharing your know-how!
Can you help me how to set up the dr60D to the mixxer ? Im new to the audio & gonna get the dr60D ii for my friend wedding video ! Please help
Hi there,
Im a bit new in audio, sorry if some of the questions are too obvious.
My Tascam has Line Level
1000 time Thanks you!!
I have a Zoom h2n with a 3.5 mic input but no xlr port. If I buy a 3.5 to XLR cable should I get one with male or female XLR?
Help guys please! Filming my first wedding for my buddy. I have a zoom h4n pro. I spoke to the DJ and he said that most of the videographers connect xlr to his speaker. Is this good/bad? Should I abort this option and go with a 1/4” set up instead?
what did you end up doing?
Cory Nardis recorded through the speaker but the audio levels peaked like crazy. I should have recorded the volume at a much lower setting (I had it set at 50%)
Does the tascam take quarter to quarter?
at around 5 minutes, you discussed the line in port and mic port, however you said the line in that we arent really gonna use it but then at 5:18, you said "instead use the line port" as the plug in for the mixer. i'm confused. which one is it?
+Sam Freed Your correct here Sam, thanks for catching the mistake! I just added an annotation onto the video and hopefully that will help clear up any future confusion. I meant to say "mic input" at that moment instead of "line input".
Can i recorder a speaker for a wedding straight from the sound board if they are mic up with a wireless lav mic . what would the levels look like for that or would just suggest a recorder on him with an addition lav mic. or can is there a splinter for the lav mic that goes straight to the wireless pa system and a his on person recorder
What about Zoom H4n if I don't have enough money to buy Zoom H6? Is there big difference between them?
Question: Would U happen to know Where on the Zoom HN4 Pro U connect on the Line Level signal from a mixer other than Attenuators in the XLR ports? The Head Phone/Line 3.5mm Jack on the left side or the 3.5 mic jack on the top rear just below the on board mics?
Hey @HoundDogMech you would be better using the 1/4" in the bottom of the H4N Pro. Use TRS (balanced) and you will be fine.
Hello There:
Great information, I have a question which recorder do you recommend besides in the middle the zoom H6 and Roland.
Thank you
+Venet Photography What kind of differences are you looking for?
Im new to W.V. and tascam D70 and zoon h6 are far on my budget, what would you recommend between zoom H4 and the beginning audio recorder from your list.
Thank you
Alot of you asked really good questions that I am curious about also to bad it doesn't seem like he responds to comments like most Vloggers do....
Hello Kraig,
I have a sony ICD-UX560F it doesn't have option to reduce line in level... what should i do??
I have Tascam DR 40 and find that after half an hour the timing Crystals will start to drift which makes it hard to syn up later in post!
Do other have this problem and are there better recorders that don't suffer So much from this problem??
What recorder do you use?
Also, would the Tascam dr-40 be a good rec. to use with the DJ's soundboard?
I have Tascam DR 40 and find that after half an hour the timing Crystals will start to drift which makes it hard to syn up later in post
yes
Is the H4n Pro good for this?
I'm a DJ, and run into videographers wanting to connect into my mixer. I don't have issues doing it. The problem occurs when they connect to the back of my speaker. It either lowers my output, or basically shuts off the speaker. I believe it may have something to do with phantom power perhaps? Is that something somebody here can explain. I don't have an audio receiver, but is there a setting to turn off phantom power?
Are you related to Griffin Hammond from Indie Film Mogul?
Hello bro, can i use my h1 to the mixer for recording? Thanks i love your videos!
At 5:30 he explains it
So if we got a Zoom H1 it isn't possible to get a great sound from a mixer ?
No its not going to be possible.
Grougal tbh you can actually can do that. Use rca to 3.5mm jack. Set it to mp3 rather than wav. I tried it and it works. Decent quality afterall
THANK YOU :)
No problem 😊
at 5:02 you say "line input", don't you mean "mic" input? Because moments later you say, use the line input, it's much better...
Check our most recent video on wedding day audio, posted about 2 months ago or so, as it's more updated!
I ask this, as audio quality is then dictated to how well mixer board has been setup, also, any 'on the go' level adjustments made by the mixer will go through to your recording, good and bad.
many thanks Mark
thank you, I just wish it was more practical showing the actual connections to the mixer for novice like me
We have other, better videos on the same topic
can the zoom h5 handle the same as the h6??
Great video nice info
I have a Zoom F6 32 bit float and sometimes coming out of the DJ's speakers with an XLR using a -20 db attenuater the signal is still clipping. What are the options when I can't get a output from their audio board
Thanks
Are you on mic or line levels?
@@WeddingFilmSchool line levels Craig
Well, it needs the proper adapter cables. Otherwise, it can handle the signal.
Thanks!
Which cable is most suitable for recording from the RCA line OUT output of the mixer to the Zoom H6?
RCA to quarter inch probably
hey there. pls help. have you ever come across with the sound/dj guy at the wedding that when you connect your recorder with them. not all of them but sometimes than you pick a soft hum sound with your recorder. I heard people say that it has something to do with the earth power connection from the dj or even the buildings earth connection. is there any solution to that?
Love your channel. I have and H4nzoom record saw your video on how to record board aduio . I want to record a safty track can you help me out.
I don't know why but I'm having trouble understanding how to record the dynamic microphone audio at the same time as amplifying it.
Are you sure there is an attenuator on both inputs? That is the only thing I could think of but I haven't used the h4n in probably 4 or 5 years
Wedding Film School there is yes, it’s picking up a signal from both channels so connection must be ok, it’s just weird that channel 2 levels are so low.
You da best Kraigggg
Looks tuff but once you get it down it should be easy also costs a good benjamin or two . Get a good solution of things to buy . Or write it down
