Hey Gang!
I've had so many requests for this song, it was time to arrange this gorgeous tune for solo guitar - "The Girl From Ipanema" by Antonio Carlos Jobim.
My apologies for the painful "guitar faces" - I was digging VERY hard for a deep slow, sexy groove - that took internal work & concentration - big time!
If you have never heard the famous version with Astrud Gilberto, João Gilberto and Stan Getz - go listen to it. It's one of my fave recordings of all time!
I know it's not a traditional boss the way I play it, it's a NY Adam type groove - I still need to learn the real Brazilian way to groove!

I watched twice. First time I listen to everything everything. 2nd time just the bass line and I was like what? That is crazy cool bass line and you palm muted it all I think. that's crazy cool!.

My favorite aspect of your playing: No unnecessary notes. Everything sounds completely indispensable and your playing is devoid of "finger-jive." Kudos Adam Rafferty!

I wasn't sure what to think when I saw the huge smile on your face while your head swayed, but I understood why after I heard 10 seconds of the song. I would have the biggest smile if I could play the guitar like that. Beautiful work!
My favorite Jobim song ever! Probably my favorite jazz tune period! At first the slower tempo was just not feeling right to me. But after a few listens I really dig this slower groove. The flavor of the chords really stand out and the melody really sinks in. Unbelievable control in balancing the melody and backing notes Adam...Wow! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
