I wanted to learn cello at age 32. My mother said why bother learning cello now, you’re too old to ever be the best- and you kinda started with that. I finally bought myself a cello at age 50, and I’m 60 now, and I still have this hesitation from this feeling that I don’t deserve to play badly.
    It sucks.
I think it’s okay to just do something- finger paints, ceramics, cello, tango, without needing to imagine ever being the best. What a farce- the best.

I was here for this lecture which was an absolute blessing. I have been blessed enough to say that I have two parents that have worked through a lot of the topics Jordan covers with my sisters and I growing up and since we all have grown up and began our journey as adults it has been so refreshing hearing these things from Jordan at such depth that it has lit a fire in me. Daily my dad would sit us down when everyone got home from school and we would bond as a family and as a family we would work through issues we faced from life and the focus was always on bettering our character, a selfless version of ourselves in a positive manner. What Jordan has done for me is allow me to reflect more honestly with who I am and tighten up and remind me what is most important in life on a little deeper and more articulate level and I am so thankful he is bringing these messages back for us. He is the definition of what a leader is.

I was there in Rotterdam! This was absolutely breathtaking. During this part of his talk, I asked myself: why haven't I met my calling yet? Immediately I understood that it was the wrong question; I then asked: 'has there been anything that's been presenting itself to me, and deliberately pushed it away every single time?' I saw a picture in my mind, like bang! I was overwhelmed. I already feel different; even my friends say I look more serious. I know exactly what I have to do. This is seriously shaping a new path in my life!
Best therapeutical session I've ever had! Thanks J.P.!

"...it's a living form...and it's on fire. And that's a strange paradox because obviously a tree that's on fire would burn into ashes and trees don't just stand there and burn - although actually they do because living things are on fire, they oxidize and they transform and everything that is living is like that. So everything living is a combination of being and becoming; it is what it is and it is what it is going to be." Ahhh, I love this:) So much goodness in one delivery, wow. Loving this whole clip.
What would happen if this Holy Fire, that does not consume, were to light the autonomous, conscious man on fire?
If God’s word through an unconscious bush could so ignite a shepherd's heart as to free an entire nation from evil, what could a man on fire do if he allowed God’s word to speak through him?
Acceleration: The Holy Spirit taps the potential of what a thing ‘is going to be'. He’s the spark that ignites the flame. (Here’s one example of the Holy Spirit tapping the human’s potential: Mark 1.10) The four gospels are an account of the fire that ensued, burning upon a man’s life, but not consuming him. In fact, the fire was so purifying and relentless that it not only didn’t consume, it reversed the effects of entropy and brought dead cells back to life, one healing at a time, one disease at a time, one possession at a time, one blind man one mute man one epileptic boy at a time, until fully transforming the entire human body from death into life, culminating in the ultimate resurrection of the human being into a new creation.
Let me just go ahead and stop right there….sip my coffee, lean back in my chair that's on the floor, that's in the earth.
“God created the human heart as a fireplace for the Holy Spirit.” -Reinhard Bonnke

0:37 why bother aiming at anything else other than your highest order ideal?

2:38 that’s how interesting manifest. You can’t choose what is interesting to you. It’s something that captures your attention. It chooses you, and you decide if you want to pursue it.
3:56 things that interest you come in two flavours. One is you find yourself compelled and motivated and enjoying what you’re doing. Second is more negative, problems that you can’t get rid of and bothering you.
5:24 you might not want to be devoid of problem.
5:29 if you knew how, it wouldn’t be a problem.

The issue is we set our sights on destinations. Not a direction. The destination is the trap. The illusion. The direction is key. And it should be the highest way of being intentionally so that its unachievable but always pursuable. Christ is key in that equation. Always pursuable. Never achievable. But seek ye FIRST...THEN all things shall be added to you. Maybe not what you want... But what you need... And maybe... Just maybe blessings so rich you couldn't even imagine

I'm really curious about what you mean by 'never achievable'. What isn't achievable?
I like what you said here, and when the kingdom of God is sought first, then all else will be added, that's His promise and I've experienced that so I know it to be true. Your thoughts on direction and not destination are great, it's like what jp says when we aim for a star (destination) but remain open to 'change the direction' when we need to in order to keep progressing.

@@ashleygatewood one of the reasons why setting your sights on Christ is so important is that it is not achievable.
If you were able to reach christ-like status than the only thing left for you in life would be to die. But it is the constant pursuit of that ideal that makes getting up every single day to try and do a little bit better, worth it.
Psychologically / spiritually we need a pursuit that is unachievable but always bettering for the highest good. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for the comment

@@burgandy57 Okay, I See. We actually believe the same thing just a different mindset and way of saying it. @@hatersgotohell627 yeah I totally agree. I think he leaves it out on purpose, because if he made a religious statement, e.g. "The highest goal of human life is perfection/sainthood" (as proclaimed by the Church) he would lose popularity.

@@onikillah9596 I think he's referring to virtues as the highest goals. Ya in a way maybe he's saying everyone whether Christian or not should hold dear to the highest qualities of which he applies to God, like morality truth justice, etc. Idk he really needs concrete examples of what he's saying.

Why would we aim at something lower than the best goal we could imagine? Maybe the answer is in "imagine" because the society let build glass cellings above our heads and even if we can see through, we have to break them one by one and it's not not everybody who is given the strengh to do that.
Can we all succeed? With a balanced society and more equalities: yes.
And listening to JBP is a way to break some of those cellings.

    1:19 leadership, Moses’ calling
7:03 on fire but not burning,
-Daniel in the fire because he was given a task that came with persecution but as long as he stuck with God he would not burn
-Though we are continually dying we are also continually being made new
-Jesus promises death and persecution but if they stuck with Him they would never die
-Dying/burning/decaying in flesh but being made new/alive in spirit/mind
-gold ore on fire but if it stays in the fire only the impurities will burn away and what’s left is pure
-Isaiah encounter with God is humiliating, you cover yourself and admit your inadequacies/shame but through the fire they are wiped out and you come out having shed yourself/pride/flesh and your left with only God/purity
-Moses had just shed his worldly/prideful title as prince and has spent 40 year becoming humble as a shepherds and now comes this bush on fire.
If pride come ma it is an exact opposite. When Moses struck the rock it was so wrong because the rock was Christ and instead of speaking to it and asking for provision (bread of life, living water) as God commanded him (ask, seek, knock) He struck the rock (pierced by our transgressions) but the rock still provided (forgive them for they know not what they’ve done). Christs humility/piercing/sacrifice was done by Moses/us and extends mercy through time for those who look to Him for life (bread/water) in faith. (Moses did not know this because it had not been revealed to him but the secrets that have been held since the foundation of the earth was built have been revealed to us through the Spirit through the study of His Word. So Moses was saved by faith in God and looking to what God provided for life and we are saved by the same faith in God and looking to the same thing, who God provided for life, Himself, Jesus. This is the revelation that God built the church upon, this is the rock, Jesus is the answer to all of Gods promises)
8:46 the consequences of listening seriously is a closer/deeper/authentic/genuine relationship being formed, more warmth, more trust, (but you have to be willing to reveal to the same extent and they have to be as seriously listening)
