Trams, trains, metro, or blimps? Which is your favorite method of high capacity transit?
While my true favorite has gotta be the subway, I'm sort of falling in love with good bus rapid transit. It's just so flexible (even without a bendy bus)!
Blimps are for sure not high capacity. In fact, they are in my opinion pretty pointless in C:S. The cablecars are great for hilly cities to give alternatives to metrolines. Most of my cities have a real integrated Network of Metro, Suburban Railway lines Trams and buses. I'm not a Hub and spoke guy, so I build the lines as the city grows and usuall have bus or tram lines feeding metro and suburban railway lines, but not purely, either. Works pretty well for me. Most of my citizens seem to use the Public Transport and usually, traffic jams are made up of 80% industry trucks and stupidly running around hearses, garbage trucks and other service vehicles.
My favorite Is Metro and Trams, are so good public transport options
I guess Train and Metro would be my choice of those 4. ^^

And I rather take buses over trams, as they aren't stuck to special roads.
My favorite is trams. I love their aesthetics and I generally want my transit in view and therefore find metro's (without MOM) too boring. I can build very efficient lines as well, so they still help more than enough with any traffic issues.

Another great video. I would suggest that the vanilla metro system is in need of an upgrade with the addition of multi track stations and an integrated bus/rail/metro hub.
Also some form of an elevated train station.
Guys, there are super cool assets on the workshop which let you use two or three tracks per station

Too many mods + not enough memory RAM = bad gaming experience... This game need 32gb to run like the video or for make a great city without issues

@@CodySiscoWrites The mods I used are listed in the description and on the video. My favorite transit related mod is definitely Metro Overhaul since it proves an insanely flexible network with underground, surface level, and elevated stations, and it's pretty well balanced, too.
Will you focus on transit in upcoming episodes of Gramercy? If sp when will the episodes come out?
@@GustafMedF I try to have a decent transit focus for Gramercy all the time! I'm working on some new stuff for Gramercy at the moment, and will hopefully have an update or even an episode out soon.
@@bsquiklehausen i did not mean that you have not had good transit focused episodes in Gramercy but what i meant is if there will be an episode that only focuses on transit and nothing else.
Some mod and asset creators should really be paid to incorporate their mods into the game. Multi track metro stations are a good example, I know there are a few in the workshop, but you need muktitrack enabler for it. Should have been incorporated like the traffic report mod long time ago
It would be nice to crowdfund it too, so people don't need to buy DLC.
...I find DLC extremely annoying, usually.
The same needs to be done with the Sims 4 tbh...

Thank you for this video as I've been trying my best to improve public transportation without costing too much. I do think that the metro system needs an upgrade and would love to see more option with metroes and higher capacity.

@@codizzlesdad3743 I think it will. The game is extremely successful with a loyal following, and the paid DLCs recently dried up. If they're not working on the sequel, they're fools.
The stations shown for the metro overhaul mod are from the original Cities In Motion. That’s freaking awesome

Interms of Metro's, I have 2-3 lines running on the same track where they spring up in my downtown area. It's alright if you want run lines on the same track but only for a few stops, this makes it easier for commuters to travel to a wider range of destinations, as long as you don't run two lines on the same track for the entire line it should be fine, they should all take their paths when they leave the business district. It's also a good idea to have metros run together for one stop near a commuter rail station, it helps a lot with getting people around more conveniently but also creates a hub of sorts for your metros to run through.
This video is very helpful, especially because I'm very concerned with mass transit whenever build a new city. Maybe I will try that metro overhaul, I also want my metro system to have a station overground.
The next iteration of this game needs modular buildings, like in the last Sim City or the lastest DLCs brought. Modular metro or rail stations would make them much more versatile and realistic.
Is there a way to change the final destination display board on the front of the bus? That would be pretty cool

Nerd Alert!: I appreciate Bsquiklehausen trying to explain urban planning to the masses, but as an urban planner, let's get the terms straight and not mix up terminology here. Transit Oriented Development is an overused term where people think anything with density next to transit is TOC. Its not. Density does not equate to increase in transit use necessarily. Think of your own city with a high density node in the suburbs. Density might be through the roof, but doesn't mean everyone will take transit. TOC, in addition to density, is also about mixed-use development (which C.S. does not have), urban design, active transportation, and linking the public realm with buildings. The term "Transit Supportive Development" should have been used because in the game, it is more of a general relationship between transit and development only. Further, plopping props such as benches and trees does not increase transit usage (though I wish it does!).

Not true! Buses, trams, monorails, and metro can all be built on or near your existing infrastructure without much disruption at all!
Metros are great for this as the stations take up only a tiny amount of space and the rest is all underground, completely isolated from your city.
Well it’s all underground... I think I’m just gonna delete mine completely because it’s a total mess, with upwards of 3-5 lines at single stations in some places.
Are there double decker buses available? Also, having a majority-underground subway saves space in built up areas, especially in Singapore.

I still dont understand how to properly build a monorail/ underground rail correctly in my city. What factors in? how to align with other parts of the city? How t oalign so that the traffic will be used less? who? what? when? how? why?

Transit update has 12 lines, I have a city of 240,000 and only used 8 of them.

Hello, I have an idea, here is it: can you do the update to natural disasters: nuclear Raid, new sirens to disasters, ako disasters have only one single sirens, that’s bad. Can u add new sirens to disasters?
It looks like he has some sort of post-processing effects added onto the game. If anyone knows what the name of the mod is or if you have a link to it in the Steam Workshop it would be highly appreciated :)

My mod and assist downloading doesn’t work it says relaunch games and when I relaunch cities skylines it doesn’t show up
Try logging out of Steam, shut Steam down, restart it and log in again. That usually fixes the problems with items not downloading correctly.

What’s the best way to know which areas are more in demand for public transportation?
Wherever there are parks/ tourist stops is a good indicator. Getting residential to shops & industry/work is usually the first thing I do. It also levels up those buildings faster when they have access to bus, train, etc.

The Division Agente Inteligencia no hay noticias aún sobre el dlc campus para PS4. El dlc que se espera que llegue pronto a consolas es el Industries. Como ves, en consola están habilitando varios dlc, ya tenemos varios disponibles, así que imagino que en un futuro próximo Campus también estará para nosotros los de consolas.

For more realism of transit, it is better to use the trains than metro when doing high capacity transit, since Metro Overhaul Mod results in fewer passengers using metro when buses are extensively used.

Nathan Leak I doubt it, consoles have hardware restrictions that limit the maps to how they are, maybe with new consoles coming out and becoming more like computers things will improve.
