My stepdad worked for Detroit when Penske bought it. He always spoke very highly of Mr. Penske.

We need more leaders like Roger Penske. Almost all of the companies I've worked for are the complete opposite of this.

Thomas Wolf I worked for Roger at Detroit Diesel. Absolutely an amazing person and leader. Met him for the first time when I worked for a Detroit Diesel Dist. in Canada. The details that he demands are a driving force and the word demand doesn’t mean to be harsh. You want to do your best.

@@dougberry1011 I work for Roger too, as a diesel technician at Penske Truck Leasing in Dayton, Ohio. I've never met him but I understand how well he takes care of his employees and believes in his people. I'm very proud and thankful to work for Penske and I hope that when he decides to turn it over that he leaves it in good hands, because it's a great brand and the bar is high, I'd hate to see it fall apart.

Brenden Waggy you sure have to hope so. He has 4 sons. I started out as a diesel mechanic back in ‘73. Was VP of sales when I moved to the US to work for DDC when it was owned by Roger. Can’t say enough about him. Fantastic leader. Retired now. Wishing you all the best.

@@dougberry1011 Thank you sir, wishing you the best as well. I've been with Penske going on 12 years now, and wouldn't have it any other way. And how about that Lagano win today! Take care.

Dewey Cox Sausage 🌭🌭🌭 I don't even know if I know how to rock no more. Lolol The Big Lebowski
Roger Penske called our facility one evening inquiring about some Canadair Regional Jets we had on hand due to the after effects of September 11, 2001. He still operates that aircraft. Ill never forget him wanting his wheels painted white instead of the standard silver powder coat. He got what he wanted. I was working as an operations supervisor and can vouche for him going straight to the horses mouth when dealing with an issue. Right to the floor.

GE grew a culture that filtered down that allowed middle and lower managers to throw away the 1 in 10, the 10 percent that incompetent managers were challenged by because Jack grew a culture to make incompetent people managers through his over belief in making folks that could make it through a Six Sigma Black Belt class a managers. Then he gave out a mandate that 10% had to be deemed least effective. There were times when great people would win awards one year and have to “take their turn” as it was said the next year. It was a joke at best. Where is GE today? A broken shell of its former greatness.
I worked in Indy racing where Penske is the gold standard and at GE for almost 2 decades and I can tell you disappointedly with all my personal experience, Roger’s admiration of Jack Welch is completely ignorant.
