really digging this new format. didn't realize one was smaller than the other till you mentioned it hahaha. really nice to see all the different color combos get washed over by light.
I have one. It's a great knife. Boker is one of the companies that at least tries to make their overpriced edc bro shit somewhat well designed and worth the prices. Most edc bro knives are dumb, poorly designed and stupidly over priced. But hey most edc bros are dumber than dirt so they keep buying. Anyway, yeah for $125 it's expensive like everything else in edc bro world. but compared to the shit you get for $125 from other brands, it's actually quite nice. One of the better ones.
just ordered 3 different ones and i can't wait! the mini cf in satin, the full size tactical and the original micarta. cant get enough of them since i discovered them. i couldn't decide between them so i bought all 3
Ben, I told you to get a Boker KwaiKen Tuxedo version when you were in the knife market. I'm not saying the 940 was a bad choice at all, and I love my Rift. But, dang man those Lucas KwaiKens are definitely bang for your buck.
I was all set to buy the mini griptilian with the axis lock until I saw this video. Now I want the mini kwaiken too! Decisions... decisions! Thanks for the great video (and dilemma)! The new format works for me if it means more videos.
Love my Tuxedo Boker Kwaiken I got from BHQ. Wish I'd gotten it at black Friday sale, since I blasted $173 on mine :(. Also, not happy to see there are some new variants on this limited edition, since it will devalue the knife even more. Oh well, that is how the market sometimes works. Fantastic knife though, I recommend it to everyone at the new lower price.
Is a nice looking knife. I noticed none had a deep carry pocket clip. Do they make one for this model? Invisibility in the pocket is more important for a gentleman's style knife because of the settings in which it will be used.
Why did it take me so long to find this knife!?!?!? First i was looking at the boker trapper but then found out the construction isnt good at all, then i was looking at the gryptillian and found out it doesnt have full steel liners, THEN i was looking at the benchmade bugout and thought it was absolutely perfect but found out it ALSO didnt have full steel liners... So Dissapointed. I then looked at the spyderco paramilitary 2 but realised its too bulky for my taste. Finally after hours of RUclips videos of big flashy tacticool "edc" knives I landed on this video about the smoothest knives out there and then discovered my future companion, the boker mini kuaken. Though I do have some gripes like the not so deep pocket clip and the heft of the knife along with the ugly blade shape. All in all this knife is basically what ive spent many hours searching for and am pleased I never stopped looking. I will be purchasing this from blade hq in 2-4 weeks.
I have a CF kwaiken and love the look, blade and steel but i just don't enjoy the deployment of the flipper it feels to stiff for me where i feel the knife might slip. I find this because the flipper isn't big enough or my gimping isn't grippy enough.
For under $200.00, the overall design and material for this flipper is nice, indeed (although I never really liked liner lock mechanism). I did have a chance to get one awhile ago... but I ended up getting a flipper from Viper (Italian brand) instead.
I'm guilty of fidget flipping in the car too. Figured it would be a really bad thing if I got into an accident, so I make sure I stop when I get near intersections. Speaking of flipping, did Austin grab his balisong by the wrong handle and flip it open?
I don't own Urban Trapper or Kwaiken, but I have had bad experience with titanium locks on Boker Plus knives - a lot of lock stick and lock wearing out really fast and blade developing up and down play. Have read that this problem mostly applys to titanium liner locks (like Exskelibur or A2), so maybe it's a different story with frame locks, but I'd rather go with Kwaiken, because it's steel on steel (although, I like both knife designs).
I was thinking about getting the"throwback version" I read about problems with the thumb disc being small and the detent but then I read they were enlarging the disc if I ordered one will it have the bigger disc or is it old stock?
Scotch-tape your bali-song to practice... or get a practice version.. cutting yourself is not necessary to be cool. That being said, I learned the hard way myself... you'll def respect the blade more...
We're working on it... we've been trying to find a good balance between studio stuff and field stuff. We need more firepower! We'll have some new field tests in the coming months... -Ben
You're gonna want to carry some super glue and band aids with you if you're learning to flip, just got my alpha beast infinity and I can't stop playing with it.
I was all for this knife till I discovered couldnt do left hand... sad :-( ... ticked me of, and that spinner .. well they have really good medication for that shit if you need one of those hahha
I like the presentation style, just not a whole video of the same knife in different handle scales. Discussing "your favorite color" just doesn't hold my attention.
is that bladehq coffee? is it sharp?
really digging this new format. didn't realize one was smaller than the other till you mentioned it hahaha. really nice to see all the different color combos get washed over by light.
. bladehq takes care of you . so much passion and valuable information. with them you get what you need
I've always wanted the titanium. The design is so great. The large is beautiful

Wow this is perfect, was legit just looking at the kwaiken on the website wondering if I should get it. Thanks guys!
Oblisk 861 I'm in the exact same boat. My biggest problem is picking which one I like best, they're all so damn beautiful.
TheUndesirable1 I got the damasteel and I freaking love it
"Zero Fox Given" I want several hundred of those bottle caps.
RELEASE THE KWAIKEN!!
I just received mine. 3.5 inch VG 10 blade, Ti handle scales. I love it.
I bought a Boker Urban Trapper Grand from you guys a few weeks ago. Similar profile to the Kwaiken, I'm loving it so far.
O
Chris Reeve needs to make one of those designs, or even Hinderer. I just bring me-self to buy a Boker. But I just love the design!! Dang...
Ben, I told you to get a Boker KwaiKen Tuxedo version when you were in the knife market. I'm not saying the 940 was a bad choice at all, and I love my Rift. But, dang man those Lucas KwaiKens are definitely bang for your buck.
Austin vs ben vid.I miss the old days.Nothing feeds the fire like the old format.
Very cool format guys, would be nice to see more banter videos like this.
I was all set to buy the mini griptilian with the axis lock until I saw this video. Now I want the mini kwaiken too! Decisions... decisions! Thanks for the great video (and dilemma)! The new format works for me if it means more videos.
I think mixing in this format with the Knife Banter is great! Thanks for the quality content & laughs fellas!

Great videos guys. Don't stop what you're doing!
I like the official knife banter with the fun editing WAY more than this.
The Boker Plus Kihon by Lucas Burnley is a great knife as well. In the new catalogue there is a Kwaiken with a duplex grind 🖒
Is a nice looking knife. I noticed none had a deep carry pocket clip. Do they make one for this model? Invisibility in the pocket is more important for a gentleman's style knife because of the settings in which it will be used.

Just bought the Ti Stedemon spinner from BHQ! haha! Love these vids
Can't wait for some more field tests!
I love that every knife in knife banter is now compared to the 940!!!!!
Mini tactical version is needed. Great vid.
Thank goodness you guys got a torque bar alternative that's a fraction of the price!! Well done. Those torque bars are WAY to much.
Awesome video!! What is the knife on the very very left?
I have a CF kwaiken and love the look, blade and steel but i just don't enjoy the deployment of the flipper it feels to stiff for me where i feel the knife might slip. I find this because the flipper isn't big enough or my gimping isn't grippy enough.
I like this video format better than regular Knife Banter
I love watching your videos it got me to buy the jade skyline from. around Xmas keep the videos coming
Kwaiken = Elegance and functionality
For under $200.00, the overall design and material for this flipper is nice, indeed (although I never really liked liner lock mechanism). I did have a chance to get one awhile ago... but I ended up getting a flipper from Viper (Italian brand) instead.

Blade HQ that was a great video keep doing it this style :) -a fan from Greece
Does the normal size kwaiken have jimping yet?
the bandaid on your finger. Is that from blade hq knife banter?
I'm guilty of fidget flipping in the car too. Figured it would be a really bad thing if I got into an accident, so I make sure I stop when I get near intersections.
Speaking of flipping, did Austin grab his balisong by the wrong handle and flip it open?
My wife wants to know why I spent 40 bucks on a spinnie thingie. I told her it was your fault!!!! I am now cooking my own dinner...
id love to see another run of the full size kwaiken in smokewash.
51 morpho with Flytanium V6 scales for those interested in the Bali.
kwaiken is a great knife. I got the CF number 1000.
I got the Titanium Mini Kwaiken in your guys #Knifelife giveaway last year! Great knife for EDC and gentleman's carry
compared to the urban trapper, which would you go to for an edc?
I don't own Urban Trapper or Kwaiken, but I have had bad experience with titanium locks on Boker Plus knives - a lot of lock stick and lock wearing out really fast and blade developing up and down play. Have read that this problem mostly applys to titanium liner locks (like Exskelibur or A2), so maybe it's a different story with frame locks, but I'd rather go with Kwaiken, because it's steel on steel (although, I like both knife designs).
Kwaiker: one who believes in faith and friendship amongst those who owns knives, loves to own knives or admires said knives.
Are these spring assisted?
what do you think about jake hobac's quaken
One of my favorite companies, can't wait for the next video! Also by chance can you guys check out this material called moon glow?
I was thinking about getting the"throwback version" I read about problems with the thumb disc being small and the detent but then I read they were enlarging the disc if I ordered one will it have the bigger disc or is it old stock?
I love it when I can find models of knives that I like on these Blade HQ videos, then go elseware and pay three times LESS then their markup. LOL.
Whats about the mini kwaiken tuxedos? I've been wanting one for so long but I haven't seen them in stock on the website.
can you guys do a video on the best options for a budget sharpener?
Alex Garza sharpmaker. done.
TeddyRoooosevelt thanks
What is on the left hand side??
i really wish boker made this in either a quad mount or a dual mount...
These are cool knives I aspire to have
Scotch-tape your bali-song to practice... or get a practice version.. cutting yourself is not necessary to be cool. That being said, I learned the hard way myself... you'll def respect the blade more...
Ben, when did you come back at bladehq?
I jumped back on April 4, 2016... almost a year! Time flies. -Ben
I love my carbon fiber boker kwaiken!
yo I got the stedemon spinner and my spin time is trash, their is so much friction how do I clean it out
Love my carbon fiber boker kwaiken
Are yall going to do more Field Test videos with RUclips Creators? I bought my PM2 after watching your video with LBS
We're working on it... we've been trying to find a good balance between studio stuff and field stuff. We need more firepower! We'll have some new field tests in the coming months... -Ben
Awesome! Always looking forward to BladeHQ's content
shame not a sigle one have the tip like a katana and i cant understand why! hehe, nice video
Kinda sad it wasn't the usual banter :/
Loves Mine, very nice indeed.
Do this more often
Beautiful!
no editing XD I love yalls editing
Didn't show off the Tuxedo version.
Why can't knife makers just make every knife ambi?...🙄
That damascus though ...
You talking about Jake Hoback?
Winner! I just couldn't pull that up while we were taping. -Ben
QTRMSTR also makes a kwaiken, but Jake's are pretty damn stellar.
i love hoback's kwaibacks...
Shame they didn't go with something more premium than VG10. Nice nonetheless
jake hoback is the maker you are thinking of (I think)
Austin’s voice is the product of bob Ross and Morgan freeman
Wow, do I like the mini more? that weird for me
Like
Just make them s35. That vg10 does not hold a good enough edge for me, easy to sharpen quick to dull especially on that daily use
Is it just me or do the minis cost way more
also some file work on the flipper
They shouldve released a mini cocobolo version :(
You know they make practice balisongs with no edge, right? : )
Haha band aid is a nice touch
Purchasing a qwaiken as I watch
I need one.
That Dama-Steel version.
Knife porn defined.
You're gonna want to carry some super glue and band aids with you if you're learning to flip, just got my alpha beast infinity and I can't stop playing with it.
Love those nice!
The coffee isn't steaming. Where's the set decorator!
is this not the Nick Shabazz format?
I was all for this knife till I discovered couldnt do left hand... sad :-( ... ticked me of, and that spinner .. well they have really good medication for that shit if you need one of those hahha
For the love of god and all that's holy, it's not pronounced "Quaken" it's pronounced "Kwai-ken"
Notification squad
That'd not even the original version...it has the larger squared off thumb disc. The original has the smaller round disc.
...says the man with a bandaid on the finga
I never realized how creepy austins voice is until this video...
dam that ain't cheap hahaha but I want one
Quacker or burritos? Lol
I really should buy new underpants, but first I will buy a new knife lol.
PSA: these are fun knives but not great slicers.
I like the presentation style, just not a whole video of the same knife in different handle scales. Discussing "your favorite color" just doesn't hold my attention.
I am batman
Böker not Boker
the pocket clip, sucks...it digs into your hand, I modified mine..
