      @@gregmossed the Heron can chip a little but I find it to be negligible. I have been through 3 of them in 2.5 years and I still skate my first one as a banger board and though I did cut it down due to severe razor tail, it has no bad chips in it (still feels poppy too). • @darksaga80
    @darksaga80 Год назад +13

    Andy's mad scientist brain is reshaping how skaters are going to skate. He takes so many micro adjustments on his boards that will make certain trick easier. His in depth explanation just about how the board shape will make tre flips easier just shows his shapes will impact on other skaters and how they're going to think a ton more about their shapes.
    People talk about skating essentially reaching a peak, but this approach to design is where you're going to see skaters doing more with their equipment which in turn will allow them to push more boundaries, which Andy is already on the cutting edge of doing already.

    • @darksaga80
      @darksaga80 Год назад

      @@dans2833 it's not marketing though. This is Andy implementing his ideas in his own shape. If pros already do such fine tuning in their shapes, you never hear it or see it. If it was in fact all marketing, then EVERY skater would have some weird shape and it would be pushed all over, and it's not.
      You just see this with Andy and his board.

    I'm super excited to get the board and the new wheels! It'd be cool to maybe have griptape to show to flick and pressure spots like they do on some baseballs to show how to throw certain pitches. That'd be perfect for my ADD ass

    Anderson 3.0! Interseting to see those nerd boards coming out. Powell will have to sell this board with an instruction sheet written by Andy now. 😂😂

    I have seen many shaped boards since I started skating in 1986. I remember seeing a aDanny Way DW board and it was 9 inch wide and that was too skinny, then I rode it and eventually owned that deck. Modern skaters think boards are too wide if they are over 8.5.

    Got me thinking instantly Hosoi's Hammerhead board nose, but this is still different.
