Im 21 years old with oily acne prone skin with scared pored pores, i sawed some video from youtube and directly started applying tretinoin, first 1 month it was okay I didn't get any purging or acne infact it was clearing my acne but it is drying my face strted peeling but... From 2 month my skin became dry and i started to get little little bumped acne which i cant understand y it is happening nd today i watched ur video nd got my doubt clear tht it was not purging its reaction.nd today im stoping my tretinoin application on face thanks alot mam

If we use even try to use tretinoin for more than 3-4 days a week, when would we use other ingredients like copper peptide, alpha arbutin, etc which we can't combine with tretnion in a week time ?? Hello , I’m using tretinoin from last two years and didn’t had any purging or dryness yet. Also I don’t have any acne or marks on face and have dry skin type . Just wanted to ask is it ok use for dry skin people ?
The formulation game is crazy, doctor prescribed me a tube called retino AC, it had tretinoin + clindamycin and was for acne treatment . I saw drastic results and then tried normal pure tretinoin and it didn't suit me, now thinking to go back to originally prescribed one :)

@123greenland hi, i was prescribed retino ac gel as acne treatment, my acne reduced drastically now they're gone. But i am thinking to continue the gel further as it has tretinoin as main ingredient

@123greenland tretinoin is usually recommend for melasma too but i was prescribed for acne only, you can see nipun ma'am video, she has covered all these topics

maam I have used minimalist retinol 0.3% for 3-4 month I literally had no purging or peeling I could use it every day , then I switched to tretinoin 0.025% and been using it for like 3 month but I am still getting new pimples , face looks glowing but new pimples keeps coming, so if I switch back then which retinol % should I choose or do I need to switch to retinal ???
Please switch back to 0.3% retinol

I recently got diagnosed with inflammatory rosacea and have a chronic case of hormonal acne as well, so any kind of retinol no longer remains an option for me, right now im using azeleic acid which is really helping with redness, mild acne and even pigmentation but I still need something for closed comedones black/whiteheads and recurring active acne. What are your thoughts on this ma'am ? how do I create a rosacea friendly acne skincare routine ? Right now even the thought ff applying tret scares me.

I have the same issue but not chronically. Certain seasons flare it up. I use mild salicylic acid from brands like beminimalist, paula's choice or the ordinary. All work the same. Have done it for years. I have zero black heads or white heads on my face. It has worked wonders in clearing my skin up. If you are in india, i also use Acnetor AD on and off - it is clindamycin + adapalene. it is not as harsh as adapalene and is very gentle on the skin. I use it sometimes if i feel an acne flare up. Also for a moisturiser, use a ceramide and peptide one. Many brands have it.
@PriscillaAmal Thank you for a detailed reply :) I have been using beminimalist bha serum as weekly exfoliation routine for 2 yrs but after getting diagnosed with rosacea recently I stopped as I was scared. i have been using tret and adapalene as well as prescribed by my dermat for acne over the years but again, after this rosacea thing he kinda gave up on me, apparently since all actives for acne react adversely on rosacea. So I'm practically on my own. I think I'll start the bha again since my skin is clearly getting congestion without it. At this point I feel I just need to intuitively understand my own skin and try to take care of it with less but effective products. Gonna take a while but if everyone can do it, why can't I 🙂
Nipun....I was using ordinary Granactive Retinoid very very comfortably weekly 4 times...and enjoyed it a lot...but as I upgrade to Tretinoin....I can't use it more than once a week...coz it's irritating my dry matured skin and turning it into a more dry Skin... And m feeling more dullness on my skin..
Should I stop it immediately and return back to my The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid??

Answer :- The spiciest experience I had with retinol was with oral Tretinoin... God that's something... Dryness all over the body.. bleeding lips.. bt it passed n helped me a lot... So a win is a win i guess😅😅
