Greetings from Illinois, and, yes, I'm a Home Fry. I didn't see your live show, so i was glad to see the "rerun" 😊. The first reaction i remember hearing you do was David Phelps, and i was very excited to hear your kind words about him. It's now October 28, 2024, and I've had a hard time getting use to hearing Home Free without Austin. I cried when i heard he was leaving HF to go solo. I've listened to 2 videos with the new guy, Adam Basteen, but i just don't get the same warm feeling i do with Austin. Maybe in time. Thank you for reacting to HF, and this subscriber looks foward to hearing your next reaction.
If you would like to see more interesting stuff with Austin, you should check out his "duet" with bandmate Rob Lundquist, "Two COUNTRY singers TRY To Sing Opera". You'll enjoy picking that one apart!
For collaborations with Home Free, they've done Don McLean, Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, Peter Hollens, and Lee Greenwood (along with The United States Air Force Singing Sargeants).
Their newest video is an original written by bass singer, Tim Foust, is beautiful and sweet and brilliant! It’s called “ What’s Left Of My Heart”. (I hope I got that title right!)
I saw Home Free live about 6 weeks ago for the first time. Tim's low notes actually made the seats vibrate! Of course, this song is all about Austin. I was told that Tim tried for 4-5 years to get Austin to sing this song. I'm glad he finally agreed to do it. His girlfriend was sitting right next to the camera.
Austin and Adam killed this. I thought the use of the tv’s were clever since they did this during the pandemic. Home Free has such good music. Love them. Good reaction VL! Try Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, I Can’t Outrun You, What We Ain’t Got. 🥰
Here in Texas we have to contend with the hurricane season here. Cannot remember how many times we have had to leave home and head north and just hope and pray we have a home when we get back. Lost our home back in 1983 when Alicia decided to send a few tornadoes our way.
If you want to hear the beat boxer play more harmonica, please watch Ain’t goin down till the sun comes up, this is a cover of a Garth Brooks song. I think it is Facebook only
I have heard that Home Free have paved the way for their reactors. They appreciate them, and have given Google their blessing to allow their performances to be used in this manner.
Awesome reaction, I enjoyed it... Liked and Subb. Thank you! I think you need to react to this astounding video 4th Impact a Filipino Girl Group sings "Bridge Over Troubled Water (So Hyang Version)" Have a Lucky Week!
So Long Dixie comes out next month. Available now at their concerts. Totally fabulous. 12 out of 14 songs written by Tim and/or Austin, and friends. Austin wrote my new Home Free favorite called Stargazer Lilies. Videos of their stage version are out.
During the pandemic they found ways to release videos 2-3 times a month to keep us Home Fries happy and sane. It was so good to look forward to those releases while in lockdown, we were in isolation for the better part of 2.5 years
Nothing the members of Home Free does is surprising to us. We Home Fries have seen every facet there is of them and we already know the talent within this group is phenomenal. I doubt there's anything they can't perform and succeed at, if they set their minds and talents to it. Austin's voice was made for this song and he crushed it. The background harmonies and bass were the usual Home Free level of excellence, as usual and Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion was next level awesome as well. They actually were not together. They each recorded their parts separately. They all got their own recording equipment and software in their homes and Darren Rust their producer has remote access to them and produced from the studio. Adam Rupp has had a beat lab in his home even before the pandemic. I think Austin was the only one actually in the studio. Thanks for a great reaction.
When I first heard this song was going to be covered by HOME FREE, I knew it was going to be my favorite version. Everytime Austin looks into the camera, I smile and wink lol
The guys were in separate towns during lockdown. They all purchased recording equipment & Darren Rust the producer had remote computer control of it. Amazing what technology can do. Austin was in the studio & his girlfriend, that's why we are getting so many romantic looks at the camera at her. Home Free put out a video every week during the pandemic to keep us occupied & happy. Was amazing. Great reaction. If you are looking for a new artist to react & analyse try Aussie, John Farnham especially Help (Beatles cover) wit the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Always listen to John live. This song was back in late 80's/ early 90's but until recently he could still sing up a storm. Had surgery recently. Speedy recovery John. 🙏
You mentioned having heard several of Home Free's songs, but I only see two on your playlist for them. I would love to hear your other reactions to them. If you have a chance to update your playlist, that would be great!
Great reaction, and glad to see you're back. You must do "Brothers in Arms" for your next reaction to Home Free. You've heard one end of the keyboard, now you need to hear the other. Thanks. ❤
Home Free just released a new video, written by bassist Tim Foust. The song is 'What's Left Of My Heart'. You will enjoy this song. Yes, it's been a while since you reacted to Home Free, but I think the Home Fries will get your notification. Don't wait so long to react to them as they have released many new songs, all of them wonderful.
When they were on Season 4 of The Sing-Off, Jewel said that Austin needed to stop shying away from the high notes. I think we can safely say he's jumped that hurdle. If you haven't heard their Sing-Off performances, you should think about reacting to the ones with the judges' comments.
@@minneyruth My son and I bought VIP 1 tickets for their concert in Williamsport PA in October. It'll be an experience to meet them and get to talk to them for sure.
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
As vocally amazing as this was… I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s better than the original. There’s an emotion level that’s in the original that this doesn’t touch. In fact even the Michael Bolton version can be argued to be more soulful than this. But this is still incredible.
Rob and Chance do such great fill to round out the harmony but Tim's bass is a great foundation with Adam's percussion! Austin is phenomanal but the composite is out of this world!!
Thank you for your reaction to Home Free, it has been a while since you reacted to Home Free and a lot has been going on. There are new amassing song from the group, but also songs from from some of the members, single, duos, and with other friends and musicians. I will especially draw your attention to Tim Foust "Will you still love me tomorrow/stay".
I have never liked this song and Michael Bolton's version made me fear for his wellbeing. Still not wild about the song, but these guys..... The vocal percussion is almost unbelievable, the harmonies in the backing vocals are perfect and Austin makes it look and sound so easy. And they did from different locations around the country, which is the most unbelievable part for me. Kudos to the editor who made it all come together. A side note about their Brothers in Arms - the arrangement they used was created by the Finnish group Club for Five that someone mentioned earlier.
Are you the one that cracked our copy of Percy Sledge's version in high school? I was heart broken when that happened. And I am blissfully unaware of Michael's version, so this is going up directly against Percy's for me.
