I'm not particularly new to this game but I've never heard anyone in person or on the internet talk about the angle of your bottom turn dictating the angle of your top turn. It makes so much sense and something great to be mindful of when planning out your ride as you drop in.
I’ve found it to be such a useful tip, if nothing else it helps us to visualise and give us more time setting up and drawing into our turns, building drive and speed rather than going into it with little speed and inadequate preparation, and the angle you’re driving into the turn with I agree facilitates/influences the angle of your top turn, I hope you’ve found it useful!!! @@BenConsidineyeah I struggle to strike the ballance between dropping in too deeply and letting the section get away from me, and not dropping in deep enough and not having enough speed and letting the section get away from me haha. So thanks for the tips bro!

This is helpful as a reminder to all surfer levels, but especially helpful as another way to explain this concept to beginner intermediates trying to generate that initial burst of speed. I've heard your ice cream scoop analogy referenced as "pet the kitty" here in California haha. Really enjoying your content -- maybe consider adding some more slow motion video with marked up arrows etc as well as maybe some text cards with numbered notes of the key concepts at the start and end of the video.
