    The lady also mentioned ev’s not selling, has she never driven by a legacy auto dealer? The lots are full of trucks and cars. No Teslas have an overstock of over 30 days yet a year or more. Tesla has over 30 billion dollars on hand in case they think of something to do with it. Legacy auto manufacturers all have 200 billion $ debt or more adding service on debt of about $8000 a vehicle that has to be added to cost their products. So who is having trouble here, you figure it out.

  • @wickertwm
    @wickertwm 5 дней назад

    Depending on the EV from China, it might be a good thing that the CEO of Ford is impressed. He can use the information that he has acquired to make affordable trucks and cars in the USA under the Ford brand. BYD has a pickup truck that is affordable (but needs to be made larger for the US market) and is hybrid. It runs an ICE engine (low displacement) which runs a generator that charges the batteries, which run the electric motors. The truck always has a battery capacity so will always have full electric power when needed. Since you are not using full power most of the time the ICE engine regenerates the battery as you drive. You don't have an issue with range as the ICE motor can just be filled at any service station, but can be plugged in at your home or charger if you want. The other thing with the BYD is that the battery is leased so you don't have to worry about the battery degrading with time, and the company has built the truck so the battery can be removed robotically and replaced when required at the companies expense (since you only lease them, and BYD owns them).
    It will bring EV (or Hybrid) vehicles into the 22nd Century and will make the Big Three stand up and take notice. EV vehicles can be built and can be profitable if you change your business model to support the customer.
    The Ramcharger will be the first American made experiment in this direction. Lets hope that the battery lease will also be adopted.

    If Ford looks for more ways to cost cuts with where they source their parts, we the consumer will suffer for it. I'm a Mustang guy through and through and have had 4 different gens. I've noticed over the years that Ford changes their sources for parts and you can tell when the quality suffers. Clips to hold interior moldings for example are weak and break easily in my 2017 Mustang. The car isn't even old, can you imagine how brittle said clips will become after 15 years. They'll become GARBAGE and they will begin to fall apart. Speaking of, stop with the cheap noisy plastic, PLEASE Ford.

    I agree towing is not an ev’s strong point. Gotta tow get a diesel. But I have a 22 model three now has almost 70,000 miles.s on it. But it is crap the lady saying the electric is expensive or the plug is expensive. Know what’s expensive, gas, oil, oil changes, transmission service, head gaskets valve trains, engine failures. Another problem with ice is having to go to a gas station and stand there while you fill it at five times the cost per mile of an ev,. I get up every morning to a “full tank” no need for a gas station. It’s faster, safer and way less likely to catch fire also quiet and quicker. At 74 yrs old my wife and me drove 4000 miles.s round trip to the Grand Canyon in less than 7 days. How tough could it be for us to do that?

    Remember when 'Quality is Job One' at Ford? That was decades ago. Ever since Jim Farley was named CEO, the auto quality is sinking with deep recalls costing millions of dollars 💸.
    That's why Henry Ford built the Rouge Plant because he wanted total control control of the quality of parts going into his vehicles
    Ever since the Ford family and Ford executives have outsourced the parts, quality went out the door and into the wind. Ford caused their own present problems because the Ford executives want to spend less on quality products going into their vehicles. Ford has become a word beginning with the letter "F," but now doesn't end with the letter "D". You fill in the last three letters that properly describe the company today. Thanks to Bill Ford Jr..
    He did a shitty job running the Lions football club, so he handed the control of the football club to his sister, who is doing a better job than Billy ever could imagine. Now Ford Motor is in deep s**t. 😢

    Brake failure or excessive wear on an EV? My Toyota uses the hybrid for braking and battery charging. They should go 100K easily. The friction brakes are used about enough to keep them from rusting. 42.5 MPG lifetime
    Oh, and AWD is standard issue with the hybrid package

    • @alraguc
      @alraguc 3 дня назад

      Yeah. That part of the presentation is a flat out lie. I have a lightning with one pedal drive, which means when you take the foot off the gas pedal, it gradually brings the vehicle to a stop using regenerative braking, avoiding use of the brakes, while simultaneously charging the battery. This feature reduces wear on brakes, which makes they will last much longer.

    EV’s work well for some people, but for now the majority of buyers want ICE vehicles. As time goes on and the technology gets better, along with electric grids that finally get updated, more buyers will consider an electric vehicle. Farley should buy a few more and have some of his engineers study them. Remember when we underestimated small cars from Japan? Let’s not let that happen again.
