That was downright underhanded and sneaky. What is the point of buying a home if you don't truly own it? What dark days we live in when outsiders tell you what you can do with Your home, how it has to be repaired, and what the cost will be. Not to mention the fact that you don't actually own the land. And now, homeowners are becoming vulnerable legal squatters increasingly beseiged by law-protected illegal squatters. Seriously, how valuable is a deed in today's world?
I was shocked when that lady said matter of factly that after the vote was no, she just redrew the lines so it would be yes. So the vote was just for appearances basically. HOW IS THAT OK?
The bottom line is that if you can't afford a real estate lawyer to fight this, you are going to get moved out. You need resources to fight a city initiative like this and none of those people in that area have the money. They will eventually be pressured to sell. It could be good, though, depending on the offer.
All of this is money in politics. Look for some kind of commercial venture to follow. More than likely someone's palm has been greased. We are not governed by those we elect to govern us. Some people may believe we are, but we are not.
I grew up on the other side of that block. I can see the house in one of the shots. Anyway they been pushing us out of the area for years. This is just another tool to get all of us out.
Exactly. This is something the government has been trying to do for years. What the auntie said about "they're just getting a toe in with the 'first district' and they will force their way in more" was absolutely on the money.
If you have a historic house you cannot make improvement that fit your budget. They are trying to take over the entire neighborhood and make them million dollar homes.
What historic zone's is make the home a museum, and you can't change anything, it has to be maintained as is. you can't add a lawn shed, more garage, replace windows more efficient. When it is sole in future if the material is no longer being made you will need to custom build it and get it approved some comity, that is not cheap.
I don't think this is a bad idea, they just want to avoiid people from selling their homes to developers who will tear down these beautiful 1920 houses to build town homes and more multifamily, 60% of the original Jewish River Oaks has being destroyed already, if you don't understand these, watch "this is my home is not for sale" and it will make perfect sense for you... finally the city is doing something to protect Hysterical constructions, is not always about money y"all.
They been at this a longtime it's over its go be UofH imminent domain, historic districts and gentrification til they have it all. I wish wealthy black people would come protect it but it is what it is.

You own nothing but the clothes on your back and chewing gum if buy some.🥴
That is the problem now a days. The residence have no voice in it, they are going to do what they want.
Paint it lime green before the government can tell you not to
@@joyaustin6581 Where I live, the houses are lime green, blue, red, etc.

So.... your going by the book, Right?........But who wrote the book?

Good 😌
It doesn't look like a large area, I'm not sure what the motivation is?
Beautiful homes.
Pay them well above market value and turm the entire area into a nice green park.
They always do whatever they want to whomever they want whenever they want.😡😡😡
The numerous games and loopholes in politics and laws are truly amazing. Nothing is never black or white. 😶
100% gerrymandering
3:02..if they tell them how it should be then they should pay for it too.
That would be too much like right.

We all going to be in this predicament sooner or later
We need Islamic Emirate states of America now
