Hi, thx for watching. 2 different lenses. The 1966 will give you more contrast even wide open, richer images and sharpness even wide open assuming you don’t get flaring. Bokeh is a lot smoother compared to the spii as well. It really depends on what I’m going for. The SPII has loads of character which I love as well, the 1966 is faster and has its own look.
Great video. This is definitely a len I want to check out. Do you think that Light Lens Lab is going to come up with a version two of any of the lenses? It’s a little bit of a strange idea since technically they’re coming up with perfect replicas of vintage lenses and a lot of those might not have a version two.
@harrisonsearle7442 I have never held an aluminium 1966 in my hands but, the aluminium is the lightest, the titanium in the middle and the brass being the heaviest. Although there’s only 50g difference between aluminium and titanium.
No they don’t but there are loads of m to e mount adaptors available. The Techart one will turn to lens into an autofocus lens, a close focusing adapter will reduce the minimum focus distance
@@robbiesumantri there’s an interesting offering for the LLL 35mm f2 8 element collapsible lens. Any chance you have tried that one? I have the Summaron 35mm f3.5 with goggles, the original Summicron 35mm f2 8 elements is unobtanium for me at 3k.
@@mozaic_channel as far as I know, the collapsible only comes in ltm mount. So if that’s what you’re after, the 8 element has been my daily lens ever since I got it. I have the normal one though..
@emmanueltsI5 I reckon it’ll be worth the wait. It’s glued to my m11 currently, haven’t taken it off.. Don’t know much about lens design but I wish they took the same formula and made a series of these lenses. I would at least get a 28 and a 90 if they did. Probably asking for too much.. Which colour did you order?
Just got mine today
WOW!!
No photos yet but what a lens, so beautiful
Congratulations dude!!! It’s an amazing lens!!! I’ll try to compare this to a noctilux 0.95 soon..
Thanks for the review! Will be buying
Sounds great.. I have a referal link in the description if you don’t mind
Thanks Robbie- would love to know how this compares to your SPII ( my current fav)

I don’t think they are coming up with a V2. Yeah this lens is worth a try. Keep the flare in mind when you’re shooting though
Robbie, share your thoughts on why you're drawn to the Leica M?
Will work on that video soon.. Thank you for the video idea
You’d choose the aluminum over the titanium?
Yup… but it’s for the dumbest reason.. I don’t like the colour
@@robbiesumantri hahah.. I'd assume the Ti would be lighter though, no?

Liked and subscribed. Really like the way you present these opinions about something that is super subjective. Giving LLL a hard look.
Thank you so much.. LLL is killing it!!!

yellow coating = reflects yellow light = less yellow light in your photo = colder. if that is what is happening anyway... which i am not certain of.
Thank you so much for the info, it makes sense in a twisted way 🤣🤣
Aww Diddums! The brass lens is a little bit heavy for you. Its REAL! Maybe toss the Soy milk and work out?
I hate soy milk, still a comparatively heavy lens..
@@robbiesumantri 🤣🤣🤣
It might look better on SL body but for me Canon 50mm f0.95 is the way to go .
Oh yeah… might do a video on that… thanks for the idea
@@robbiesumantri absolutely! Will be great to see it!

Yeaaahh 🤣🤣 It’s a crazy good lens.. I’m sure he’s trying to get the next batch in soon. Hope you get it then
@@robbiesumantri Have ordered mine some months ago and still waiting for it to arrive.. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to using the lens.

Just put the real thing and the LLL side by side under all shooting conditions, and you will realize it is a replica by physical look only.
I’m not the only reviewer that finds that it isn’t the case 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I do sometimes admire the eloquence you guy have.
Well, putting up a video comparing the leica and lll side by side without speaking is completely doable 🤷♂️🤷♂️
