I just now watched the full show. Very moving. Jackson Browne asked John Mayer to play along. They did such a good job on it. John played the guitar fills and solo part with such ease and grace. Kinda like a sideman player would (not like the star). He let Jackson perform and backed him up as a guitarist should do. John did perfect to pick up and carry the vocal and song performance with his guitar playing. Two great musicians. Very special. I like listening to these moments even more than their recordings. It’s a gem.

All credit to John Mayer. He has such an intelligent brain and an exceptional ear for music he can join in with any song without rehearsal. Seen him do it many times. This was particularly beautiful in an emotional situation. He plays the guitar as he speaks and writes lyrics- with a great skill, eloquence and sensitivity

For my dad, Jackson Browne is what John Mayer is for me. Watching this impromptu performance was magical.

I want this version of the song on my Spotify playlist! I hope to God they release it on its own somehow.
This special was so beautiful. It was very much off-the-cuff, as it should be. What a delicate thing to plan a special like this. Kudos to everyone who pushed for it's release on Netflix.

Very emotional song. Glenn Campbell played it in his final years. It was hard to believe that the lyrics he sang, that fit his situation at that time in his life, were written by a 16 year old Jackson Brown. He was beyond his years! Great video.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. All time. I didn’t know I needed this version. John did such an amazing job backing up JB. Watching this, already an emotional song, then seeing all the emotion on stage, it’s just got me. Amazing

This kind of situation is John's specialty! Jackson is just arguably the best song writer that ever lived.

Raw and special moment of a really excellent tribute, usually comedy and music doesn't always blend well but done beautifully by Meyer and Jackson Browne, also if you notice even Jeff Ross is crying lol

This was great with one bad exception Paul Rodriguez he was rude to everyone around him he's had a chip on his shoulder for years just know Paul when you pass you will never be remembered like Bob Saget who had a true big heart filled with love and kindness and compassion, Bob you will always be truly missed ❤️

Jon Mayer toured with the grateful dead improvising very heavily for large portions of their set, he also likely knows the song really well since it is extremely popular esp w artists and not hard for professional musicians to play along at this level trust me

@@christopher2327 even if he wasn't touring with the dead it's not that hard for any guitarist of his level

@@tanayasharma7776 totally I was just saying his improv chops are very very honed at this point

@@christopher2327 I know he's great at improv, but if you watch the entire performance (not this video, the one on netflix), towards the end of the song there's a section where he and Jackson are just a bit too in synch to not have been rehearsed at least a little, imo
