I lived in Harlan,KY.In early 90's and we would feed them in winter to watch them on our front porch, cats set on front porch and watched them, beautiful animals just like you and your story.
Phyllis you and mr. Bucky bring such joy to so many of us. You make us feel like we're visiting with family when we're watching your videos, whether it be recipes or stories and explanations of everyday life. I spend a lot of time alone while my grandkids are in school and daughter and son in law are at work but I'm never lonely because I can turn on my computer and go to your site or tune in to you here on RUclips. Thank you so very much for all the time you give to us, we love you.
WE HAD SIGHTINGS HERE IN SOUTH ARKANSAS ALSO. WISH YOU WERE STILL HERE PHYLLIS. Your voice was so soothing and boy could you tell stories. Miss seeing you on here!!!
I don't think I could have stayed there the night after that encounter. To be close enough to smell its breath is terrifying. What a story. Story time is just as entertaining as your cooking videos. Always enjoy you.
I watched that video you recommended of the panther, then I watched this one ruclips.net/video/WFjZAHk0tt0/видео.html. It said it is very rare to see one in that area.. Wow, what an experience you had!
Phyllis, I think I would have just frozen that night! You did the right thing taking you and your dog back home. I am glad Mr. Bucky never had an encounter with that thing. I know that is something you will never forget. I love when you tell stories because you have had many interesting things to talk about. Just feeling like I get to visit with you is such a treat. Hope you are doing well today. Thank you for taking the time to make this video it had me at the edge of my seat! Talk to you soon I hope!-----Tressa Daigle
Great story - you're a born storyteller! I was shivering just listening. I really enjoy everything you post and must agree that you are dolled up today. Either way, you're a star to your audience. Thanks for sharing your life! Paulla
Ms.Phyliss, You look fantastic! You are a *smouldering* and natural beauty! Your eyes are ridiculously gorgeous! Your silky hair is beautifully styled....somebody call Tyra, we have America's next top (senior) model! I don't think too many of us listened to the story the *first time* we played the video cause we were too mesmerized by your stunning beauty! So, now I will re-watch to hear the story telling part that I didn't hear before..lol.....
You handled that way better then I would have. I would have called the police, fire department , ambulance , pizza delivery guy AND woke up the whole town. 😀😀😀
My goodness! Scary! I lived in a 1948 cottage in the forest of northern California, and deer frequented a small creek nearby. At midnight, I went to get something out of my car, and as I bent over the open trunk, I heard that horrible cougar scream! The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I forgot you're not supposed to run! I fled to my open door and slammed it! The next morning, I discovered her tracks close enough to have caught me! Later in the day my neighbor told me a cougar was treed on the next street. I was too scared to go see it! I will never forget that scream! God protected you and me! 🙏✝️💕
I'm from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, in southwestern Virginia. When I was about 8 years old, I was playing in a small stream that ran near our house. I stood up and looked across the creek and, on the bank, there stood the most beautiful black, velvety cat with bright yellow eyes. We just stared at one another. I was in awe of this beautiful creature. I don't recall how long I stood there, or who left first, but I went up to the house and excitedly exclaimed to my Mother that I had seen a big, velvery black cat with bright yellow eyes one the hillside, just across the creek. While she said nothing to cause fear in me, she did tell me if I ever saw that cat again, to just stand very still and to be sure not to run away... We never again spoke of the big, beautiful, velvety cat with big, yellow eyes.
Well Miss Phyllis, you are a contradiction to the saying"Beauty is only skin deep".You're positively radiant inside and out! Now that we are all trembling in our shoes from your story I think it's time to make us some comfort food, lol !
I live in southern GA and I also saw a black panther in the middle of the day. It crossed the highway right in front of my car. It was so big that it took up most of the width of one lane of the road. It looked like the panther in Jungle Book. It felt surreal and it made me really think twice about being alone near the woods around here. Great story.
OMG! I live in the appalachian mountain region of Virginia and I saw one too!!! The one I saw was golden though. Solid gold. People always look at me like I'm crazy when I tell the story, but I swear before God that it was a puma! Glad to hear I'm not alone.
Well Mrs. Phyllis, If your areas Wildlife Biologist think it's rare to SEE a Black Panther, wonder how rare they'd consider getting to smell ones breath? Wow! Now that was a good story!
Great story Miss Phyllis. In 1971 when we were kids, I was ten , we went to stay in rural west Texas on our grandpas old farm. Our dad worked away from home all week, and we stayed behind with our mom. There was an active set of train tracks literally not 300 yards from the end of the yard that bordered the property. Since we were young kids, we played outside most of the day. The tracks were hidden by lots of overgrowth. Our mom had told us stories of the "Tramps" who rode the rails when she was a child there, and who would sometimes come up to the back door of the house yo ask for a bite to eat. We were terrified of these stories, imagining the Tramps" as some malevolent humanoid. We stayed clear of the tracks except to occasionally walk along side them on the dirt road that led to my great aunts house in the neighbor behind ours. The first time we spotted it, it was just bigger than a small dog, and it quickly disappeared into the over growth along the tracks. Time went by and we saw it again, only this time it was as big as a large German Shepherd. It swiftly disappeared again, but not before holding our gaze a couple seconds. There was no mistaking; we'd seen an elusive black panther. We told our mom, and she said there'd been stories about panthers there by the river bottoms, but that no one really ever sees them. Well we sure did! In fact my sister and I still have the same memory of it. I'm really glad we didn't have to smell its fetid breath though 😂 Thank you for your great stories. Keep em' coming please. Rose
I was thinking that it sounds like Stephen King as well because this story scared the ever living out of me. And of course I listened to this at night and I had to go out and walk my dog! Great story Phyllis!
I live in east central Indiana. They say there are no cougars here. Just this summer one was spotted on my wooded corner property and ran off into the woods. Then my very next door neighbor has seen it 3 times in the middle of the night. It had to have walked across my property where I live, it too is in the woods. Before that another neighbor had seen it running across the field. So yes, even though they say they are not about, they can be. I plan to put a trail cam back up. My old one quit working. Thanks for telling your story. Sue in Central Indiana
So charming. You look nice, and such a sweet story. Thank you Phyllis for sharing your life and the journey you have had. You are both just the nicest folks, and you take me back to the days when as a chi,d I could walk to our church and home again alone! I felt so grown up! Lol! Simpler, sacred, and safer days. Thanks for the memories of a sweeter time in life. 🌞🌞🕊🙏🏻
Yes, I love storytime too! Here I am needing to do my bible studies, but I am soooo hooked on her stories and baking, cooking, and everyday life. You are such a beautiful person inside and out...and so is Mr. Bucky!! What a cute name!
I'm a great grandmother married 56 years. I'm still learning great recipes from you. I'm a NC southern/city gal. I still get compliments on my old time dishes.
Miss Phyllis - you are such a good story teller - it's like a scene from a scary movie, where you're yelling at the television, telling the the actor "Yikes! Don't open that door!"....and meanwhile, Mr. Bucky's sailed away with Wynken, Blynken and Nod. Perfect story - part scary and part funny!
I understand completely what you're talking about by seeing a black panther. We had one roaming on our property way out in the country. It looked in our nearest neighbors window and scared the girl. The wildlife game people set a trap and caught it. Since it was fair time it was put on exhibit at our county fair. This happened in the early 1960's. Years later in the early 1990's my oldest daughter saw one with her two cubs crossing the dirt road about 500 feet in front of her. You're right about them not wanting to admit that they're around especially now a days.
Your stories remind me of listening to my grandmas' stories. They're both passed now. Thank you for telling/sharing your stories as well a your recipes with us.
Hi Phyllis you look absolutely stunning tonight! Yes mam there are black panthers in the McCormick/Greenwood area. We live right off of hwy 221 and when I was 4 we lived on the end of a gravel road surrounded by woods and egg farm. Out bathroom window was low you could step over and into it. One night my mother went to the bathroom and the windows were up the toilet faced the window. As she sat half asleep and in the dark with only the night light and looked up she saw two big glowing yellow eyes. The ground outside the window was soft and my daddy found paw tracks the next morning. So yes I know they exist. We use to do a lot of camping at Hawe Creek campground in a tent it's a wonder we didn't see one!
This was a great story..and it scared me too. Reminded me of a night in Concord North Carolina. I was driving home with my family it was pretty late at night. I saw something cross the road. It was standing up and it was huge and black and hairy running across the street. I can never forget that. There was another car coming the opposite way on the other side of the road and it ran between our cars going to my right. I want to say it was BIG FOOT. BUT no one has reported anything. Amazing!
OMG! After 17 minutes into the video, when you said it breathed on me, I could NOT stop laughing at your description. Even though it was not really a funny experience, your eyes got SO big. I had to stop the video and wipe the tears. When you tried to describe its rotten breath, I was no good. I jumped up to make myself a pot of coffee because the story was getting good. Lordy Lordy, girl, YOU are a wonderful storyteller. I can't even imagine coming eye to eye with something at 3am. YOU made my day!
You had me on the edge of my chair while you were telling that story ! I almost gagged as you told about the panther's breath. Really makes you wonder what you would have seen if you would have looked up to see what Gray was barking at when you had to go get him. Yikes! I enjoyed the story very much and look forward to watching your next video.....Panther??.....I believe!!!
Phyllis, you're very good at setting up your stories so that I'm able to imagine and feel what you probably went through, from the fresh air of the forest to the foul odor of that cats breath.
there was a black panther behind my house in the Tennessee smoky Mountains, where I lived was a old building that was a storage shed, the panther stayed in there. and it ventured outside at night. I seen it many times, but it never bothered me or my husband. it lived there in the old building for a winter, and come Spring time it was gone. I never seen it again.
I absolutely believe you we use to have black Panthers in Tennessee. I was a little girl and had seen them many years ago when I was little out our bedroom window and my mom did to. TFS
Ai yai yai! You were practically in the face of a panther! That is exactly what that cat was. We have them here in North Carolina, too. Not sure if our Wildlife has recognized them officially, though. Pretty as a picture today!
Phyllis, please continue to make videos and tell us as MANY stories as you can! I'd be interested in just about anything you'd tell us :) You are such a genuine lady, and such a blessing
Sharon from California love to watching your show You & Mr.Bucky seem so happy.I know you have both pasted on hope your sons keep on. I you both are with the Lord. Bless your family
Very scary ..and I also learned something tonight...did not know panthers live in the south...and I grew up there..ha! .I thought they were indigenous to Asia, India...etc..didn't know they lived in the states...anyhoo... .I also believe it was trying to have dinner at the expense of your dog..and the poop of the panther on your property marked "his territory" to come back another time and day/night and scope out your dog for his meal ....lucky dog....I enjoyed the story. ..Ms.Phyliss, we should *do this every Friday night* ..beats going to the movies, and it's free! Haha!
What a story! I was sitting here listening to you and remembering my childhood. We had a ranch that my folks bought about 1946 or 47. We moved out there - only dirt roads, lots of scrub oak, deep gullies that you couldn't get a plow down into, full of rattlers and all sorts of animal life, and we were miles away from our nearest neighbors. I don't know about panthers but we had lots of bob-cats - whose scream at night was like hearing a baby being tortured - truly awful. Gave me night mares for years. I remember driving home with my mom and sibs from some school events late at night. It was truly dark then; no city lights, and if there wasn't a moon no light at all. And we had to drive slowly because if you didn't you ran the risk of hitting a dear - or worse a skunk - they froze in the headlights so you had to honk the horn and wait for them to leave. As I said I was sitting here just getting scared remembering that time. I'm with you; in fact I would have been packed up by 6 am heading home!
Ms. Phyllis, I'm fairly new to your channel...only discovered you about a month or so ago and immediately fell in love and subscribed! You are an awesome story teller...I love how detailed you are. I felt like I was there with you. Fantastic! When I was 9 (37 years ago!) we moved from California to Kentucky. We lived there for about a year and a half before coming back home. Anyway, while there, we lived in this little old shack of a house that butted right up against a hill. Very 'foresty'...lots of cedar trees, I remember...Anyway, there were definitely big black WILD cats roaming around there too! One mauled my poor kitty cat nearly to death. It was a pure miracle he survived. But, yeah, we definitely had our own experience seeing some kind of large black cat as well. Very frightening!
Oh my goodness, that's so scary to think that it was probably up in that tree when you had to walk over and pick up your dog! I love your story time videos 😊
OMG Phyllis, you are so lucky that it didn't attack you for no reason? Never doubt a woman's insight. This is incredible! So so glad that you weren't hurt. Mr. Bucky needs to believe you when you say you see what you see? Good good story Phyllis!
Phyllis. I tried making my own recipe of your "rebirth of jello". First time I've ever attempted anything like this, but it was so good I had to come directly online to tell you all about it. My wife is finding my daily fascination with your channel so funny by the way. She said "uh-oh, what are you doing with my blender, Phyllis?" Anyway. Here it is. (The same method you used). Large box of Orange jello (6oz) Add- 1/4 cup sugar Add- 2 cup boiling water. Stir up Add- 1 cup ice water In the blender add 1 pack of cream cheese, plus jello water. Blend. (I reduced the water for a more orangy flavor and added a little sugar to counterbalance the non sweet cream cheese) It's so good. Will you try it? Oh, I put drained mandarins in too, when it was blended.
How scary! Always enjoy hearing your stories. I so much enjoy "spending time with you" You and Mr. Bucky are such a beautiful couple both inside and out.
Hi Phyllis, i just love your videos. They are so down to earth. I have never seen a black panther, but I am pretty sure I would have screamed. I love how you tell stories. thanks for sharing your life with us.
Oh my word. While you were picking up your dog, I feel that you probably stood right under the tree where that cat was. The Lord sent protection for you. I’m glad you left that place.💕
I found your channel a few weeks ago & I'm so happy that I did. I love hearing you speak, enjoy your recipes & the way you explain everything. I'm trying to catch up with all your videos. You look very pretty in this video. It's so lovely to see such a devoted couple. God bless you both.
I am turning 50 next week. I have a 'sister', code for best friend for 40 years. When we were in our middle teens we would ride our horses between each other's houses, about 15 miles back roads. There was a section of road that went no where but to the highway, no houses it was an unmaintained road. It was next to the river and had high bluffs up on one side and pretty treed. We would always feel like we were being watched and had sworn we saw a huge cat up on the bluffs. Both our dads told us we were seeing things big cats aren't in our area of Kansas anymore. Her dad was a county road guy and my dad was a oil field worker so they both were out in the country all day. Well when we got driving age and started to drive the old back roads we swore again we saw that cat but in other places. Dad talked to a fish and game guy and he was very sure there were no big cats in this area. Everyone we told acted as if were nuts, on drugs or hitting the bottle. For about 5 years it was a huge joke to everyone that we saw those big cats. Well the cattle and sheep guys started to loose calf's and sheep. And several farmers and dairymen were saying they swore the say the big cats. After fish and game and county extension agents looked into it, not only was the one big cat but several. A whole breeding population. The investigation came out that years before a guy who had them as 'pets' had seen one out by were we had lived and turned his out there in that area when he couldn't afford to keep them. My dad had started to work at the sheriffs office and sis dad still worked for the county and told us we had been right all long.
Great Story Time Miss Phyllis! The Arkansas Game and Wildlife Commission have told us for years that there are no black Panthers here as well. However there have been so many reported sightings in the recent years they have finally decided that perhaps North Western Arkansas in on a sort of migratory path for black Panthers. I personally believe they live here in the Ozark mountains year round, and have for a long time.
Wow! Knowing he was probably up in that tree while you were carrying Grey home... then the window, Scary! Your stories are always so interesting. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing . I looked at the video and it definitely was a black panther. So sounds like the little puppy definitely was eaten . that's very sad but thanks for sharing your story. I also made your peach cobbler this morning cuz I got some peaches late in the season. And you do look very pretty Miss Phyllis hello to miss the buck you also have a good evening
Darling Phillis if I could only tell you how engagingly that story was I don’t have long to live but you kept me enthralled till 2.10am In New Zealand we have no dangerous animals, snakes. We live a life ,free to wander through Bush . That was so well told I could close eyes and imagine it all sounds horrifying. I hope we may meet again.
I watched there videos years ago and felt very close to them. Very good people. We need more people like these to God fearing individuals. Miss them so much!

Your encounter through the fan in the window that night sounds like a scene out of a Stephen King novel!
Desperation!
I was thinking that it sounds like Stephen King as well because this story scared the ever living out of me. And of course I listened to this at night and I had to go out and walk my dog! Great story Phyllis!
Yes it does, I was ready to get a snack and sit back
I love the story, and I believe you. It was a panther!
CHILLS ! So glad that you were awake enough to close that window and lock the others ! ! The hand of God protected you all !
you look absolutely stunning!
Yeah she does. I thought the same thing when I first saw her picture on her page.

Loretta Burt did you know that cougar and Mountain Lion are one in the same animal.

Your stories remind me of listening to my grandmas' stories. They're both passed now. Thank you for telling/sharing your stories as well a your recipes with us.
Every place you go, you and Mr. Bucky make it better than it was before.
You are a great southern beauty. Great story yes mountain lions sometimes are black. We have them here in Upstate New York.
Thank you for sharing that great story, just glad you all and your pup was okay. Ms Phyllis you look Beautiful. . 💜✝️🙏🏻
Amazing!
Ms Phylis you look so nice!
Mr. Bucky is Mr. Lucky !!!
Love your recipes and the stories, tips and words of wisdom from you and Mr. Bucky! Thanks and God bless y’all HUGELY !🙏🏻!
What a story! Too close for comfort! Ms. Phyliis you hair is so pretty!
Lovely story, Phyllis. Thank you!
You look absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing and thank goodness for you!
You certainly can tell a story, Phyllis. Thank u for sharing.
You are a great storyteller! Thanks for this. I enjoyed it so much!
I absolutely believe you we use to have black Panthers in Tennessee. I was a little girl and had seen them many years ago when I was little out our bedroom window and my mom did to. TFS
How frightening that must have been. Enjoy your stories as much as your wonderful cooking. 💕
Ai yai yai! You were practically in the face of a panther! That is exactly what that cat was. We have them here in North Carolina, too. Not sure if our Wildlife has recognized them officially, though. Pretty as a picture today!
Please do more of these Miss Phyllis, they're absolutely mesmerizing
Watched your story time and video attached. Tho rare in S. Carolina...its not unheard of. Enjoyed your story. Thank you for sharing.

Martha Stewart the second. It amazes me of all the many different things you can do! Keep wearing the make-up, it looks so good on you!
So beautiful, love your hair!
:)
Large box of Orange jello (6oz)
Add- 1/4 cup sugar
Add- 2 cup boiling water. Stir up
Add- 1 cup ice water
In the blender add 1 pack of cream cheese, plus jello water. Blend.
(I reduced the water for a more orangy flavor and added a little sugar to counterbalance the non sweet cream cheese)
It's so good. Will you try it? Oh, I put drained mandarins in too, when it was blended.
How scary! Always enjoy hearing your stories. I so much enjoy "spending time with you"
You and Mr. Bucky are such a beautiful couple both inside and out.
Great story, loved hearing it. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
You are totally Right, that is what it was for sure. We have big mountain lions around my house.
I found your channel a few weeks ago & I'm so happy that I did. I love hearing you speak, enjoy your recipes & the way you explain everything. I'm trying to catch up with all your videos. You look very pretty in this video. It's so lovely to see such a devoted couple. God bless you both.
You are a wonderful storyteller and have a gift for painting a picture with words. Thank you, I really enjoyed it.
Phyllis, you look so lovely today, you are such a gracious lady! I enjoy story-time, you paint a beautiful picture with your words also.
