While Fredericksburg is a lovely place to visit, it does provide some challenges for vegans and vegetarians so we’ve listed our top tips for how to tackle Fredericksburg successfully as a vegan:
1. Book a vacation rental: in places where vegan options may be limited, booking a vacation rental offers you the ability to cook and store your own food, which can also help you keep down the cost
2. Download and use the HappyCow App: HappyCow is an app built for vegans and vegetarians to find vegan options wherever you are and it always comes in handy when we are in a city where options are few and far in between.
3. Get the power bowl at Vaudeville: we were pleasantly surprised at how great this vegan option was and how beautiful the restaurant was. This is one of the main spots in town offering a dedicated vegan option.
4. Do stop and grab coffee and treats at the Kaffee Haus. They offer alternative milk options and sometimes vegan baked goods
5. Don’t be afraid to ask if the wines are vegan at wineries, the staff at the wineries are very knowledgeable and will be able to help you.
6. Get up and out early: businesses close around 3-5pm here while most wineries stay open a little later. So be sure to plan your day to get out early and rest in the afternoon, and also have an option for food after 5 when things close. But hey the good thing is there is a Burger King in town and you can always grab you an impossible whopper 🙌🏽

Yes you have to! I had never been to Galveston even though I’ve lived in exes for almost 10 years now and it’s such a cute little town with so much wine lol 😂
