i want to go to your school: my school we cant do ponytails (hair cannot be touching our collar), no headbands, no earrings that aren't studs, no jackets unless they are the black nursing program jackets we have to buy from our school, latest clinical is 6:45 am.
We have to wear a low bun with a hairnet covering it, no earrings, no jewelry except for a wristwatch with a second counter, no skinny jeans (for comfort purposes), no flat sandals, no open toe shoes, no tshirts (if wearing a tshirt, there has to be a cardigan over it).

If you love the elderly (like I did), you will love nursing in general. My fav was acute care and my specialty ended up being telemetry and open heart unit. It’s funny to me to hear your excitement about seeing a Lovenox shot and giving meds! Wait until your start IVs and Insert G tubes! I remember my first IV….after I got it I looked in the mirror and I had hives all over my neck. Anyway, someday 5 years from now when your are quite comfortable as a nurse , it will be fun to look back at these videos! For now, enjoy the experience of nursing school because you will never forget it!
It’s crazy that you’re doing clinicals already. I remember seeing your videos before you were in nursing school. I started my 4th rotation in PA school yesterday. It’s family medicine. On Wednesday’s he goes to a nursing home for 3 hours. I’m actually excited to see it on the providers point of view since I was a CNA at a nursing home for a little over a year. :) I graduate in August and I cannot wait to move back home and get to be with my fiancé again.

I know how you feel about finals coming up and the need to do well, but you will do great! Just keep studying hard!! Hannah Clingan I’m in my 2nd year of nursing school. It can get really stressful but staying ahead of your work and being organized really helps! Time management is soooo important! To be honest no matter what major you go into it’s probably going to be stressful. Good luck with whatever you decide!!

Hey girl! I'm in nursing school too, doing Associates. Ours is a 2 year program and that hardest in the state I live in. Would you be able to do any skill videos or examples of skill labs...also I'd like to say DON'T read too much into the comments where people have said crappy negative stuff. You're so sweet and positive and doing great! Keep it up
We have to do a head to toe assessment(12 pages long) the first semester it has to be memorized and we do it each semester so 4 times, then each time we have to add a skill plus the head to toe. For our med cards we have to memorize all the med actions before we are allowed to give meds. If we miss any then we aren't allowed to give meds.
That is literally crazy that your clinicals are from 7-1... for our first semester ours was 8-4 but 2nd semester and so on are 12-hour shifts (6:30-6:30). And this semester (my third) I was working 2-3 12 hour clinicals on the weekends on top of long lab days and lectures during the week. Enjoy that schedule, im jealousssss!
Lol I have to be up 4:30 tomorrow. Also just found out I have my last clinical the day before finals. Do you guys normally finish the last week of class? 🤔

Not gonna lie, it was draining. I wasn't originally planning to still work that day but realized I couldn't pay my few little bills working only 8 hrs a week 😭

Haha I’m a senior in nursing school ... I remember my first time giving meds .. It involved hanging IV meds and SuBQ injections. That was my first adult patient . my first peds patient was a 5 week old baby that I had to hang IV meds for .. I was so nervous haha .. now I’m in the medical ICU and everything is becoming a lot more easier haha

Yes we did a care plan in form of a concept map and then as we move on to future semesters we will do more detailed care plans :)
