The best romances are the ones that start out on unequal footing where they're at odds with each other, but over time become allies. When it turns to love the slow burn is so intense - I think that's why Jane Austen was so spectacular at this. I've experienced it only once and will never forget the intensity.
Wonderfully put! I absolutely adore Jane Austen’s works. My parents have experienced this familiar footing of a love story you speak of which is why I think their love is so persevering and partnership is such an empowering force to reckon with. I feel so blessed to be witness to this.
I used to be kind of an Austen snob, and a snob about romance in general. I took a seminar a couple of years ago where we read Persuasion by Jane Austen, and that changed my mind. There were so many moments in that book that were just so beautiful.
I thought the best romantic movie ever, the one that makes me cry every time is: The notebook (or… Les pages de notre amour. This is beautifully written, the story is, at the same time, sad AND powerful. The actors were perfectly cast 👌
I was 19 watching this in the theater with my best friend. When the movie was over she said "they're gonna have to wipe all the seats down in there" 💀😄 gross, but I died laughing
My husband said to me in front of family and friends as he was dying. Him; Ole Woman did I ever tell you how much I appreciated being loved by you? Me; Every single day. Him; Even when we fought? Me; Yes, because you really care about me. Him; Don't ever forget that. Wherever I am I will always love you. Me: I won't forget, don't you forget I love you. Him; When you come please remember our first date, dancing in the aurora borealis. Me; To Unchained Melody. Him; Our favorite song. I'm tired, I think I'll sleep a bit. I leaned over, kissed him on the lips and whispered G'night my love. He whispered back G'night sweetheart. Twenty minutes later he went on to wait for me and to this day no movie, nor novel will ever be as loving as 12-17-10 when saying goodbye to the only man I always consider my best friend, my lover, and my husband. I hope you're still waiting as I help take care of our grandchildren till I am with you again. G'night my love.......⚘
What I realized here is romcom used to feel so BIG, but also vulnerable and precious. It's like a live or die situation. Yes, it's cheesy af and maybe not 'accurate', but somehow, I do miss the naivety.
All the film and TV adapatations of 'Price and Prejudice' (and other Jane Austen) are great. And declarations of love are usually poignant and well done. Not because any of these are easy to adapt but, I think, because it brings out the best in cast and crew!
Pobre señora Fairfax 😂,es como si hubiese visto al señor de la casa besando un extraterrestre ... La mejor escena de éste recopilatorio...con permiso del señor D'arcy..
I guess it doesn’t rlly count coz it was probs fake but that one seen from 10 things I hate about you when Patrick sings for kat lowkey deserves to be on here if it counts as a confession.
Having Fifty Shades of Grey in the same video as the rest of these movies is insulting. The other movies are beautiful, romantic, and actually portray love. Fifty Shades of Grey is terrible.
The love actually scene is idiotic. The scene itself has some romance, but the actual relationship had no heft, no pull, no connection, which made this scene seem ridiculous.
Of course you would leave out " of course you theses people would leave out "Love Jones " the scene of the rain 🌧 under the bridge 🌉 his declarations of love to ninia!!!!!!!!!
I came here to say exactly this. What a missed opportunity! Could have had a whole video of just Colin Firth declaring love and I’d watch that all day.
I dont understand stories like pride and prejudice.... Did people in that time period just role around being rich? 😂 Where does the money come from.? You never see anyone working!!!
Love Actually is such a stupid movie, full of toxic and nonsense things, you can make movies with the romanticism essence without being ridiculous. Plus is so sexist, I don’t understand… or maybe I do understand now why is so popular. Most known romances are toxic, so it makes sense

I actually have the Pride & Prejudice dream regularly. It is perfect.
Absolutely ,My favorite out of all of these ,maybe from every movie or show ever made lol
The cinematography of this version is insane! I love this movie so much!
I'm shy to say that I haven't seen it yet, I thought it was cheesy acting, bad actors with a scenario you can't possibly believe and get along

Jealous!!
“You have bewitched me body and soul and I love,,,I love,,,I love you”

The classics really hit differently. The lines are so deep it pierced through your soul and gives you life.

Suits being in makes me giggle lol. I love that show
Fifty shades should not even be on this list wtf that movie was so twisted aint no love
Agree 100%
That breath in Pride and Prejudice gives me chills every blasted time.
I still can’t believe Anya Taylor joy had that nose bleed right on cue for that scene in Emma 👀 27:08
50 shades of grey reads like it was written by teenager. The dialogue is hilarious!!
Mr Darcy all the way
So many good ones -makes me wanna rewatch them all❤️💕💗❤️💕
This version of "Pride and Prejudice" is my all time favorite.
personally the most beautiful confession of love is in Bridgerton especially the one scene between Anthony and Kate Sharma
Definitely
The office had giggling and kicking my feet 😅
I deserve a Mr. Darcy who really loves me and fights against everything to win my love with all his strength. I refuse to accept less than that

I was glad to see this comment, I felt the same way!
Definitely maybe(2008) I love that movie so good
You added the suits to this
🥴😳😎✖️
The love actually scene is idiotic. The scene itself has some romance, but the actual relationship had no heft, no pull, no connection, which made this scene seem ridiculous.
So true, my words exactly. That silent confession to Keira Knightley was so much better, just so genuine!
Your perception is way off!
@MarionPrisk you forgot to explain the Right perception. :-)
Colin Firth is the Best!! ♥️
"Nice guys dont kiss like that"
"Oh YES the fucking do"
😅
30:55 ugh the 2006 version IS SO MUCH BETTER! Fricken Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephen’s were AMAZING!
Necesito un segundo video de estos con los mejores de las series
Although the Love Actually scene is beautiful for many reasons.
Wait. Wait! No Princess Bride?!?!?!
As you wish
Emma 🥺🥺
God 50 Shades was bad, both as a book and as a movie.
27:12 Sanji approves
Of course you would leave out " of course you theses people would leave out "Love Jones " the scene of the rain 🌧 under the bridge 🌉 his declarations of love to ninia!!!!!!!!!
💯 percent
The first one should have been Colin Firth Darcy...then he'd have had three-in-a-row. HIs was better anyway.
I came here to say exactly this. What a missed opportunity! Could have had a whole video of just Colin Firth declaring love and I’d watch that all day.
um Polin?????? are you kidding
Only in literature and film ... 😔
I dont understand stories like pride and prejudice.... Did people in that time period just role around being rich? 😂 Where does the money come from.? You never see anyone working!!!
Ummm….no 10 Things I Hate About You????!
DARVEY!!!! 🥹🥹🥹

The Brits know how to do it! 😂🫠
