@@yukiiasakii9758 No, you can defend yourself, and trust me they can, almost every herbivore can out run the predator in this game(the ones you expect TO be able to run I should say), but ALOT of them can also do a shit ton of damage to mostly defend themselves an also skill is a part of it. If youre good at the game you know what battles to avoid, for example raffs can hit hard as fuck but if they need to run they can out stam lions. Dogs are slow, but have almost infinite stam but they dont hit too hard, Eles cant run for shit, therefore they have the most health and second heavy hitting attack only 2nd to rhino. Kudus, boars and leopards are the only animals that rlly just suck overall LMAO leopards especially Zebras also KINDA suck they nerfed them which was stupid, but they have one of the fastest sprints for a herbi their size Actually Carnis are more likely to attack eachother due to the strength of herbivores LMAO- sadly due to how shit the game is you likely will die to lag or a bug

I stopped playing this shit after being told not to defend a group member that was killed. The chat was spamming “stop it”. We’ve had a lion hop inside of a den to kos (which is against the rules) and the lion player was told nothing. The rules are dumb as hell 😭💀
Not sure if anyone else has commented on this but the sound that the Shoebill bird made is how they actually sound, same thing with the croc squeak. Just well, the croc's don't make that sound often irl, usually only when babies and the shoebill's sfx was badly edited and cut short. Sounds like they just grabbed a youtube video mp3 and shortened it.
God dammit I just desperately want a survival game where I can play as a lion. Imagine a game like WolfQuest, but instead of wolves, it was lions instead. You could make such an unbelievably fantastic game based on lions with how awesome the species is!! Imagine getting ready to try and fight another male lion for dominance over a pride while lionesses fear for the worst as they hide their cubs, watching the impending battle. Or maybe you're a lioness having to escape to protect your cubs after the male leading your pride gets defeated by a rival male, doing whatever it takes to see your cubs live another day. Literally such a fantastic concept that I doubt I'll ever get to see in a game. :,(

I have thought about the fact that a Wolfquest but with Lions would have a fair actual game niche. It’s a charismatic species with alot of intrigue from the get go, and you would only need to focus on one playable and not try to come up with a bunch of different gameplay loops that are both fun, consistant, and encourages people to actually play like animals. That seems to be the main thing alot of animal survival games fall flat on, despite how fun it sounds in actuality. Wolfquest *does* actually manage to make people act like how a large predator would. In the summer when the player has pups, the meta is to go after calves and beavers because they are the easiest food source, which means you can spend more time around your pups and guarding them against den raids, and you have intrest in raising your pups due to cosmetic and somewhat stat reasons, besides being cute as fuck. Of course you can still play by killing the most dangerous animals and you can cheese the game in some ways, but there is a strong incentive to play first as intended. Arguably some unintended ways to play the game also still make sense- you can choose to indefinetly stay a nomad and keep your pups around a patch of grass instead of a den, and I believe it has the advantage of a lack of flea build up. It doesn’t break immersion that hard because it’s an obvious assumption that the pups would spread fleas less in spacious grass rather than when cramped together in a den. Wolfquest is a damn shining gem in animal survival games Edit: Atleast that’s my limited insight of why Wolfquest is consistently succesfull at it’s goals even if relatively niche and what I can gauge of their game philosophy. A deeper analysis might be worth it from someone that knows more about gamedev than I do. And speaking about Lions- the obvious difference that you would run into when attempting a Lionquest is the massive sexual dimorphism compared to wolves. Wolves aren’t different enough on a sex basis to warrant different gameplay, but you would have to atleast have 2 seperate campaigns, though having a seperate campaign for a maned lioness would be cool since current research indicates they tend to have a somewhat unique role in prides- they tend to patrol like males but also raise cubs to atleast some extent if they are fertile and receptive to breeding. They aren’t 'standard' in a lion pride per see but humans appreciate the unique and unusual in stories, and presuming uncommon but documented coats would be an option in this game, their uncommones alone wouldn’t be a reason enough to exclude them. It would also capture the reality of life much more- we make boxes where we generalize our experiences into, but nature is not bound by such things.
The squeaking sound is an accurate hatchling croc sound but I don't understand why it does it when you attack. But also you weren't really a hatchling based on your size compared to the environment anyway. This game seems more unfinished than DoD with even worse monetization. It's sad because this game looked promising a few years ago.

I had a positive experience a few years ago. Was playing as a fully grown pregnant elephant. Got attacked by a pride of lions and had an epic battle to fight them off! It was super fun! But not the same game it was then.
I said it before, i'll say it again, this game is LSD simulator lmao. The devs might have had a bit too much of the hallucinogenic vines themselves when making it...
I tried telling the community some red flags before they released the legacy skins out to the public. No one listened to me and would rather spend $150 just for skins. The legacy role was supposed to be for folks who donated before the game became public, meaning that the role will no longer be obtainable after the game being released in really access to the public. Until I found out they were selling JUST the skins through dm’s, to players begging the head dev to let them buy the skins of him after the role was closed. I was in a call with random people playing on the same server when I noticed one of the players I was in a call with had an albino legacy skin. Being a legacy member I did not recognize them, and they didn’t even have the role in their (animalia) discord. I became suspicious and started asking question, how they obtained the skins, when did they become a legacy supporter, etc. She openly admitted that she dm’d the head dev asking to purchase the skins and he said yes. I confronted the devs about this including their head admins, etc. I exposed them in the hidden legacy chat, letting other supporters see what was going on behind the scenes. They had all switched gears and then released an announcement the next day saying that they are releasing the role for everyone to purchase permanently. When, after months and months of the devs and admins have stated that they will not open the role after the game releases, but there will be roles like it for players to purchase and support the game. They also hid a lot of their channels for a “clean up” that was only to hide evidence that I showed people and other folks bashing them for money grabbing. Going behind your original supporters back to gain a buck or two after stating that the role will be unobtainable. To resolve the conflict they made, the original supporters got a new role called “early supporter.” Even then, people who were not an original supporter got the new role, and even his friends who haven’t paid a dime. That’s where development really went downhill and why it’s lost the funding to make the game better.
There was one time where my friend and I spawned into the game and we got stuck in a small square of the map. There was no way to escape. We were quite literally barricaded in by 4 invisible walls. We tried separating opposite directions multiple times to see if there was something we missed or if we were at a weird corner of the map but nope. Was the worst hour of my life just walking around in a desolate squared off space on the map. We were able to see all the texts of everyone inside it and apparently we weren't the only one experiencing this. Such a weird experience. Also the fact that only carnivores are only allowed to be aggressive is just a weird rule to have in a server. Herbivories are like a thousand times more aggressive than predators most of the time since they are always competing for resources. Such a silly addition to that server.

The amount of times I had to join a discord call about rule breaks was insane. Admins in animalia servers have god complexes. I had a admin tell me to literally off myself and they just warned him. I was 16 at the time LOL.

Got into the isle recently and think it’s a really cool concept and got to thinking “hey what if we had the isle but modern day” and found this game. Kinda sad to see it’s pretty dead. Seems like this would be actually pretty cool.

When it first came out, the game was Awesome and fun, we had one if not THE most Popular Server, but it didnt took long, for the old The isle Player to get on this game so it became verry verry toxic really Quickliy. Gave me as an Admin on the Server almost a Mental Breakdown. I steped away from the game after a while, because i couldnt take the lags und the People anymore. been watching it since without playing it anyome and by now, im glad i dont play it anymore, it whent down hill really quickly and as nice as the Devs where, they refuse to hire people that really work on their game, only use Blueprints in Coding, a reason why its performance is shit, and only Buy Models for their animals instead of finding someone that makes them for them. By now its just a Cash cow, i mean... you have to Pay money to get White or Black Animals, something that is out there in Nature rare but its there. And then you can buy stupid ugly skins that have nothing to do, with a animal Survival Game...

I had similar experience. I really liked this game at the beginning, it was fun, I played it a lot and saw potential in it. Then it started to break apart, then the lag happened and I stopped to playit for year, came back and found tons of toxic players, and lots, lots of bugs. Sad because I liked it when it was playable.
Animal survival games are bad or mid, but mostly bad. Why is this genre of games so hard to make? Ive been literally just being playing Creatures of Sonaria from roblox because I had more fun there somehow, even when it barely is a "survival" game. Is there a good animal survival game I dont know of?
These kind of game are really complex. It's hard to make when there's so many different animals to make to deal with. The only very good game I know is wolf quest anniversary edition. You must probably know about it but I'm telling you just in case.

I guess you played with very low graphic settings ; ) When it comes to damage : as you grow you get "points" you have to open your character chart and put them in - or you are stuck on your base stats. It´s not easy to get a hang of it , but you can have quite some fun in this game

Oh hey, I used to "work" for that server like a year ago, and did so for...3-5 months I think? I actually recognize some of the names in chat LMAO. Amazing how they play. I got fired for inactivity, essentially. Got burnt out, has poor mental health, and was bogged down by my old job. I stayed in communication, was put in a role that allowed some freedom with time, but was let go the DAY I started getting back into the game and doing Tickets. That community had some genuine, lovely people...but that was not the majority. Not to mention their staff retention rate was...pretty telling. A lot of people quit because they were tired of shit going on behind the scenes, were overworked, or were fired for relatively bullshit (admittedly) reasons. Not to mention the half of the Heads of each role were a toss up on whether they were a cool person or someone entirely grating. Admittedly though, I had a lot of fun with the friends I made there, so it wasnt all doom and gloom. Sometimes a shitty game can be tolerable and worth wile with the right people, and under the right circumstances. 10/10 sould refund this game and the DLC now if I could, though.

Few years ago I bought this game with some Christmas money because it was on sale. Didn't take long to realize how boring and lion infested the game was so I got it refunded in less than 30 minutes. Best decision of my life.
Yes, its a little buggy. Yes, there are wierd and random glitches. But no game is perfect. Evrima isnt perfect, yet i really enjoy it. Have fun with the hilariousness of it. It'll get better in time. 😊

I tried telling the community some red flags before they released the legacy skins out to the public. No one listened to me and would rather spend $150 just for skins.
The legacy role was supposed to be for folks who donated before the game became public, meaning that the role will no longer be obtainable after the game being released in really access to the public.
Until I found out they were selling JUST the skins through dm’s, to players begging the head dev to let them buy the skins of him after the role was closed. I was in a call with random people playing on the same server when I noticed one of the players I was in a call with had an albino legacy skin. Being a legacy member I did not recognize them, and they didn’t even have the role in their (animalia) discord. I became suspicious and started asking question, how they obtained the skins, when did they become a legacy supporter, etc. She openly admitted that she dm’d the head dev asking to purchase the skins and he said yes.
I confronted the devs about this including their head admins, etc. I exposed them in the hidden legacy chat, letting other supporters see what was going on behind the scenes. They had all switched gears and then released an announcement the next day saying that they are releasing the role for everyone to purchase permanently. When, after months and months of the devs and admins have stated that they will not open the role after the game releases, but there will be roles like it for players to purchase and support the game. They also hid a lot of their channels for a “clean up” that was only to hide evidence that I showed people and other folks bashing them for money grabbing. Going behind your original supporters back to gain a buck or two after stating that the role will be unobtainable.
To resolve the conflict they made, the original supporters got a new role called “early supporter.” Even then, people who were not an original supporter got the new role, and even his friends who haven’t paid a dime. That’s where development really went downhill and why it’s lost the funding to make the game better.
There was one time where my friend and I spawned into the game and we got stuck in a small square of the map. There was no way to escape. We were quite literally barricaded in by 4 invisible walls. We tried separating opposite directions multiple times to see if there was something we missed or if we were at a weird corner of the map but nope. Was the worst hour of my life just walking around in a desolate squared off space on the map. We were able to see all the texts of everyone inside it and apparently we weren't the only one experiencing this. Such a weird experience.
Also the fact that only carnivores are only allowed to be aggressive is just a weird rule to have in a server. Herbivories are like a thousand times more aggressive than predators most of the time since they are always competing for resources. Such a silly addition to that server.

The amount of times I had to join a discord call about rule breaks was insane. Admins in animalia servers have god complexes. I had a admin tell me to literally off myself and they just warned him. I was 16 at the time LOL.

Only good thing about animalia is how the water works. I.E., drains the more you drink, to the point of completely drying up. And even then, BoB has that feature in spades, and then some, soooooo, muut entirely lmao

Got into the isle recently and think it’s a really cool concept and got to thinking “hey what if we had the isle but modern day” and found this game. Kinda sad to see it’s pretty dead. Seems like this would be actually pretty cool.
There's some other modern survival games coming, but we have to wait and see how they do.

When it first came out, the game was Awesome and fun, we had one if not THE most Popular Server, but it didnt took long, for the old The isle Player to get on this game so it became verry verry toxic really Quickliy. Gave me as an Admin on the Server almost a Mental Breakdown. I steped away from the game after a while, because i couldnt take the lags und the People anymore. been watching it since without playing it anyome and by now, im glad i dont play it anymore, it whent down hill really quickly and as nice as the Devs where, they refuse to hire people that really work on their game, only use Blueprints in Coding, a reason why its performance is shit, and only Buy Models for their animals instead of finding someone that makes them for them. By now its just a Cash cow, i mean... you have to Pay money to get White or Black Animals, something that is out there in Nature rare but its there. And then you can buy stupid ugly skins that have nothing to do, with a animal Survival Game...

I had similar experience. I really liked this game at the beginning, it was fun, I played it a lot and saw potential in it. Then it started to break apart, then the lag happened and I stopped to playit for year, came back and found tons of toxic players, and lots, lots of bugs. Sad because I liked it when it was playable.
Animal survival games are bad or mid, but mostly bad. Why is this genre of games so hard to make? Ive been literally just being playing Creatures of Sonaria from roblox because I had more fun there somehow, even when it barely is a "survival" game. Is there a good animal survival game I dont know of?
These kind of game are really complex. It's hard to make when there's so many different animals to make to deal with.
The only very good game I know is wolf quest anniversary edition. You must probably know about it but I'm telling you just in case.

ADDITION : Checked back on the game , it´s still not the best game out there , but the game looks normal for me. No moving trees , working sounds and normal graphic. I guess you played with very low graphic settings ; )
When it comes to damage : as you grow you get "points" you have to open your character chart and put them in - or you are stuck on your base stats.
It´s not easy to get a hang of it , but you can have quite some fun in this game

The playerbase of this game is extremely toxic. At least, the few people that do play it lol. I had a horrible experience and was bullied and harassed because someone lied and said I attacked them when I didn't

I actually recognize some of the names in chat LMAO. Amazing how they play.
I got fired for inactivity, essentially. Got burnt out, has poor mental health, and was bogged down by my old job. I stayed in communication, was put in a role that allowed some freedom with time, but was let go the DAY I started getting back into the game and doing Tickets.
That community had some genuine, lovely people...but that was not the majority. Not to mention their staff retention rate was...pretty telling. A lot of people quit because they were tired of shit going on behind the scenes, were overworked, or were fired for relatively bullshit (admittedly) reasons. Not to mention the half of the Heads of each role were a toss up on whether they were a cool person or someone entirely grating.
Admittedly though, I had a lot of fun with the friends I made there, so it wasnt all doom and gloom. Sometimes a shitty game can be tolerable and worth wile with the right people, and under the right circumstances.
10/10 sould refund this game and the DLC now if I could, though.
At least the Isle looks good. Despite the fact both are basically the same thing

Played this game since launch but still no pounce mechanic has been improved across their carnivore rosters. Wild Savannah from Roblox game is way more better and realistic combat

I loved this game years ago I was often an Gnu leader from a Pack of 20 people and all players was playing realistic but since the New map.... Everything was just...welp its sad

Yes, its a little buggy. Yes, there are wierd and random glitches. But no game is perfect. Evrima isnt perfect, yet i really enjoy it. Have fun with the hilariousness of it. It'll get better in time. 😊
