1) not authorized, no garuntee of investment
2) chit fund give us fixed or profitable return.
3) No document proof to claim in court if it defaults
4) some chit funds are unorganized, unauthorized, to deliver our momey in stipulated time period
5) chit fund company always safe, agents are safe but pool of investors are at risk
6) Even some one lift the chit and run away... No complaint can be lodged to claim delayed or default payments
7) some chit fund can take money in cash without taxes
Mutual funds
1) SEBI or govt registered govt controlled body but no assurance of returns
2) M. f subjected to market risk, some times it goes to 50% down and 12% p. A up
3) exit load, taxes are imposed on return
4) small cap funds may exit at any time but assets under sebi may control but most of the time liabilities are more than assets
On the whole... No one give us 100% garunted returns

You are right and he is trying to manipulate others diverting them to mutual funds ..nothing wrong in mutual funds ..but he should not show the wrong calculations. As per your and my calculations we are investing 5k per month is equal to sip in mutual fund and in chitti return is guaranteed and in mutual fund may be more than chitti return or less than chitti return ..
It is a Wrong calculation..5k every month in chitti and getting 116000 is equal to 5k sip in mtutal fund ..and 16 % interest is good return .avg mutual fund returns are 12 to 15 % .
But yes if you keep it for long term then mutual fund is better option and money will get compunded.
