1978 was the last year for this generation of New Yorker. This styling was first badged as the New Yorker in 1976, the virtually identical car and styling in 1974-1975 was the Imperial. Someone is getting a magnificent automobile.
In the mid 1990s I had a triple green 1977 New Yorker which I used as a winter beater. A Chevy Corsica rear ended me at a traffic light. The Corsica was crushed. Barely a mark on the New Yorker! Loved that car!
Absolutely beautiful! I just love the fact that you shared this with everyone, You NEVER see these in this nice of condition. Maybe take us all for a little video ride????
Kickass. Stunning. Beautiful. Every positive adjective fits this car! My dad only drove Chrysler products (Dodges and Plymouths) so I always had, and always will, have a special place in my heart for them (especially Chryslers and Imperials). This '78 New Yorker is essentially the Imperial Le Baron (Imperial front and rear ends, interior). Ohhhh...that interior! A living room on wheels! I am very happy for the new owner. I'm just sad that there are very few left out there, in good shape, for us poorer folk. And yes, I too prefer the fender skirt delete.
Gorgeous is an understatement. My best friend in junior high and high school had a 1975 Imperial LeBaron, which is this same body style and color combination. He actually bought it new and worked two jobs to pay for it. I had the pleasure of driving this car a whole lot. They are fabulous. They will never build cars like these ever again, sadly. I am so thankful I grew up in an age to when these kings of the boulevard reigned supreme.
Glad this is going to a good owner and I'm sure he'll thoroughly enjoy it! Probably one of my top 3 favorite sedans from 1978. Good luck seeing this classic out on the road!
That one looked like it just rolled out of the factory. Even back in the 70s the New Yorkers were kind of rare. An Imperial was one of those once a year kind of sightings. Chrysler had this anomaly with their A/C systems that they would sometimes freeze up and start spitting little pieces of ice at you out of the vents on a really hot day. I've seen that happen. But those Chryslers then had some of the coldest A/C you will ever find.
You guys are killing me every time I think these cars find you LOL man that is one beautiful blue living room sofa man you don't have to worry about going home man look at all the cars you good sleeping LOL
Yes, that is a gorgeous New Yorker, perfect. I do like it without the fender skirts. I didn't know you could order them without the skirts, I don't think I ever saw a 78 New Yorker without the skirts - Newport - yes - but not a New Yorker.
Some of these cars were bought by dealers who owned the franchise and kept these vehicles in storage. I remember a 1969 Charger for sale on ebay in 2008 and the owner of the dealer kept it mint in storage with 16 original miles.
Let me guess, the new owner lives in California and likes to buy a few at a time. Answers on a post card Bill. He has an impeccable taste in cars, this one will look great among his Lincolns.
This is way nicer, more stunning and a better color than the 500 mile dove grey NYB from New England that you ended up with. That car hadn't been properly stored while this one looks like it was in a vacuum-sealed wrapper for the past 40 years....
I'm guessing $31,200 to guarantee that he would have outbid highest bid on BAT without all the fuss of an auction. Competition Cars was probably hoping for high $20's. Can't blame the new owner.
I'm blown away by the condition of that car! Just phenomenal.
When it was coming I knew it was "supposed" to be a nice car. When I say it in person I was truly in awe!!
Amazing! Definitely a museum piece. Thank you for showing us this vehicle.
Sure thing!
Just Beautiful, Love the puffy pillow seats . Defiantly Stunning ! The gentleman sure knows how to pick them . Thanks for sharing .
I appreciate that!

Awesome car for sure!
Beautiful Car! I love these, and this is a Pristine Example. The New Owner is a Very Lucky Guy!!

You are right, cars today seem to lack the flair of the 70's
Glad this is going to a good owner and I'm sure he'll thoroughly enjoy it! Probably one of my top 3 favorite sedans from 1978. Good luck seeing this classic out on the road!

Glad it is going to a good home, thanks for sharing this car with us.
Oh yeah! Wondering, did you get a notification on this video?
@@christianbugatticg Absolutely Bill i also commented on it. Thanks for asking
@@thomasfarley6052 Yes, just wanted to be sure you are getting the notifications.
What an absolute beautiful example here. The condition is unbelievable and that color ... just wow!
I wish you could see it in person!
Fabulous.
Thanks!!
Beautiful car! Lucky new owner.
Thank you!
Absolutely STUNNING New Yorker = except it has to have the FENDER SKIRTS in my books
I always thought so but this look unique without them.
Beautiful example of a New Yorker!
It really is!
Love the way old cars horn sounds
Yes!

I have to say Anthony that I have been very fortunate!
Absolutely gorgeous car. I believe Chrysler called that color "Nightwatch Blue."
Why thank you!
Starlight Blue in 78. Nightwatch Blue is 79 on
@@imp81 Thanks!!
Nice car
Thanks!
Goddam !! What a Beauty !! 💯💯💯
I am telling you!

Yeah not too many like that.
Very pretty car...:)

Oh wow! That is cool
My new daily driver!!!
I would have to drive it too!
Wheels remind of that olds 98 that you had
YES!
Fantastic American land yacht.
Indeed!
Like it just rolled off the line,,Needs to be preserved,,
Yes for sure!
Bill. Is the engine the 400 or the 440? I believe Chrysler offered both in 1978. She’s a beauty!
Thanks! I assume it is a 440 but let me double check!
Quite the survivor! Impeccable condition. Unique color scheme.
How do you do it, buddy?!
Happy Father's Day, Bill!
Thanks!! Lots of internet time for sure! And Happy Father's Day to you too!
I had a 67 Newport with same color Scheme but it was a two door
Very nice!
Love without fender skirts! Stunning car!
Thanks!
Ohh nice. Notice old cars like this have a certain smell? Like pine cleanser?
Lol. maybe some!
It's got that 60s 70s old car smell? I loved how older cars smelled back then
Indeed!
Let me guess, the new owner lives in California and likes to buy a few at a time.

Kind of close!!! lol

I do agree 100%!! Proper storage is everything!
The fender skirts were optional. I always assumed they were standard. AI helped me out with this.
Imagine that, using 2024 technology to educate us on something from 1978. lol
The original purchaser had to be a true Mopar fan. It seems he didn't live long enough to enjoy it. In a collectible condition for sure.
Whoever it was I wish I could personally thank them!
Beautiful car! Final year of the 440 motor. This one, unfortunately, is smogged down with the lean burn stuff.
Yeah you can open them up with some exhaust
Im in love💙💙🥰🥰😂🤣😂🤣👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Me too!!!
Wow
thanks!
IS this the one in the burnout video?
NO!!!! lol
@3:13 That is not stereo, that is an AM/FM MONO radio.
Ok sorry for making a mistake!
Can we take for a spin?
Yeah come on down!
where are the rear fender Skirts 🤔
It was ordered without them. That was an option
What’s the big deal about the price if you don’t give his name
I'm guessing $31,200 to guarantee that he would have outbid highest bid on BAT without all the fuss of an auction. Competition Cars was probably hoping for high $20's. Can't blame the new owner.
Just honoring his request but it started with a "3".
@@severinjohn You know your stuff!
Should have fender skirts.
It was an option to go without skirts. I kind of dig it!
400 ci. But about 145hp.
It won't win many races
Boo tiful just boo tiful
Thank you!
Meh........I would rather have a coupe
I get the Coupe part, but "meh" on this one?? LOL!! Come on man!
