- Our return to the Narrative Horror genre is now imminent - The Chinese Room's next title STILL WAKES THE DEEP is set for release on PC & consoles on June 18, 2024.
Leading the Voice cast of our game as the main character is Alec Newman as Cameron "Caz" McLeary, an accomplished Glaswegian actor with a long history of video game performances. Cyberpunk 2077 fans may recognise him as the voice behind Adam Smasher in both the game and anime.
"The thing was so well written, and so well-conceived, that I don't recall having very long conversations about what Caz should sound like," says Newman in the mini documentary, discussing what struck him about Still Wakes the Deep. "With this, you can feel the writing, you can feel the characters."
Also joining the cast is Neve McIntosh as Suze, Caz's wife, who can be heard in the Still Wakes the Deep release date trailer. You can find the full cast list below:

The voice acting in this game was stand-out. Phenomenal.

I just had this game pop up in my recommended on Steam. I watched the trailer and heard the main character speak and immediately thought to myself "damn that sounds like a LEGIT scottish accent for once." I really respect and admire that decision, it's EXTREMELY refreshing. I'll definitely be grabbing this game very soon!

One of the best and detailed game ive ever know, it successfully made me so immersed to the game to the point that it made me feel so connected to the characters, when the game ended, i failed to move on from the game and i cried my balls out😭
When I got to Innes. He was my favorite. And once I saw him again on the messed up version of the rig with mangled Muir. I wanted to make sure he joined me on the ride away with Pilot Archie and Rendrick. But when he got dragged away. I screamed. I actually screamed in pain. It was on my video too.

A quite unbelievable experience playing through this. The writing is easily the best I’ve experienced within a video game - the Scottish dialogue is the most outrageously authentic I’ve seen in media never mind in gaming.
Really looking forward to this. Dear Esther holds a place in my heart more than any other game. Lovecraftian vibes with influences from The Thing. Bring it on!
An incredible script for an incredible cast. Everyone in this game felt like a living, breathing person.

I really liked SWTD. Great writing, setting, atmosphere, acting, lighting. Good scary, i.e. not too scary for me. Loved getting more closely aquainted with the Scottish accent and dialect. The characters felt authentic. Great job The Chinese Room.
Looking forward to playing this. Recently played Everybody’s gone to the rapture, again - that game is one of my all time favourites. The story, characters, visuals, and atmosphere are incredible but the soundtrack is something else. Brilliant game.

Dear developers, can you please tell me how the game Still wakes the deep will look on Xbox series s?
I really wanted to enjoy this as the atmosphere is amazing but the atmosphere for me is spoilt when the yellow paint strikes again marking out the pathway.... come on developers give us players some credit for working out a game without all the hand holding please.
